what a shame |
total bullcrap. back then it wasnt a global world. the world wasnt open up with trades and the internet. so racism was rampant in fifa back then. thats why we got only 1 spot. nothing to do with performance. educate yourself my brother. its like america in the fifties. they didnt want black players in the NBA because of racism not because of performance. it is still a racist world to an extent but things are better now. now they have included blacks in the NBA and more african countries in the world cupi bet this your first experience watching a world cup. let me school you (unlike you ignorantly attempted to woefully school someone earlier) the world cup is football's biggest arena. every country is involved globally (from the qualifier stage) and the best 32 nations are expected at the main event, its why the quota system is based on prior performance/strenght of each continent, not amount of countries, if not africa and asia would have the most represented and south america with only 9 countries one of the least. the first world cup (1930) was based on invitation cos as at that time not all countries could afford to fly a team to uruguay; egypt were able to make it then. africa (who were a bunch of colonies back then) started out playing with europe for qualification becos they were not near the level of having even a sole representative back then--has nothing to do with racism in 1970, morroco played well and were able to draw a game, and fifa then offered one spot for africa which zaire did not justify by making a fool of themselves in germany 74. 4 yrs later in argentina, tunisia won africa's first world cup game by defeating mexico 3-1 n the african spot was increased to 2 the next wc in spain where rabher madjer and lahkder belloumi's algeria defeated the eventually runners up germany 2-1 but was eliminated after germany n austria colluded to draw their last game. cameroun too didn't make it to the next round but impressively didn't loss a game n came out wit a draw against eventual winners italy, 3rd placed poland n peru. after dat fifa started considering adding more spots for africa africa, through morrocco, made it to the 2nd round for the first time in 86 defeating portugal 3-1 on their way n in 1990 africa, through roger milla's cameroun made the quarter finals for the first time thus fifa then increased africas slot to 3 in 94. with nigeria's impressive display and the increase of participating teams to 32 fifa then increased it to 5 spots in 2002. now dat i've provided u a mini history lesson, hope u keep quiet when next football heads are talking |
my point is that spots are not distributed out based on which continent will get the most wins. they are distributed out based on geographical quota afterall it is called the WORLD CUP not the CHAMPIONS CUPand the quota has never been based on number of countries in a continent, its been based solely on performance. there was a time africa had just 1 spot but performances from tunisia in 78, algeria n cameroun in 82, morroco in 86, cameroun in 90, nigeria in 94 is why we're in this position, but i'm hoping we're not dwindling backwards wit the performance i've seen thus far from nigeria et al |
i hope you two sluts (travelista and lizzybabe1) are going to be sticking to the romance section the rest of the world cup cos we need some sanity here not two b.itches trying to take their menstrual period on everyone here |
how many continents are in the world ? ok we have the americas, europe, asia, australia, and i cant remember the rest. their are 32 spots. are you for real ? africa has been cheated with only 5 spots. africa deserves like 8 spots because australia even though it is a continenet is just 1 country. so if we evenly share out the remaining spots we should all get like 7 spots each. AFRICA WAS CHEATED. maybe if we had 2 more spots we could have brought some kick azz african teams on board to represent us well. why they always cheating africawhat kick azz teams? togo and angola? apart from egypt, africa has the big guns here (cameroun, nigeria, ghana, ivory coast) and still can only manage only 1 win so far from a penalty game dat ghana played wit one man up against serbia n you do know south america got 5 spots (brazil, uruguay, argentina, paraguay, chile) and almost every single one of em have recorded a win so far in africa |
If I'm a slut, then what is your mother? You're definitely a load your mother should have swallowed.and you're a load your dad should have flushed down the toilet in a condom I think Ivory Coast is an exception though. Considering their "Group of Death", I give them credit for their battle in the first game.mehn, that group get as e be o. the ivory coast/brazil match is really gonna be decisive |
ghana messed up. they might live to regret not winning this game |
Insert Quotei hope you realize dat they get to face a german side who just lost their last game. this whole first world cup in africa might end up to be a disaster for the african team. i myself have started to question the 6 spots provided for africa at the world cup cos we dont seem doing nada wit em |
lizzybabe1 and travelista. are u sluts here to discuss the game at hand or just here for e-cat fights? The ball was struck with venom, dude tried to block with his chest and it trickles down his arma goal bound shot was prevented from going in by hand. penalty. red card. plain n simple |
mehn, ghana seems to be goal shy and pls lets get back to the game. the two screen names causing confusion here are both females (lizzybabe1 and travelista). dats why they say women should keep quiet when men are discussing soccer. go plait a friends hair or sumthin |
Hilarious indeed. The delusions of grandeur continues. . . Nigeria is the greatest! ! !nor mind am. the ironic part is dat she doesn't even leave in nigeria back to the game. go ghana!!! |
Come back and join issues with me when you can type better English. OLODO!you ever heard of what a typo is? i hope you slit your throat after ghana defeats australia so that the world can be rid of another ewu |
They support Nigeria indeed! They hate Nigerians and it's only right to hate them back. I hate Ghana with the last drop of my blood. Ghanaian girl called me 'Ashewo' just because she was jealous. Abeg let's not start Ghana-Nigeria fight here sha. LOLyou my friend are a mumu of the highest order. africa's hosting the world cup and the posibility and embarassment of all 6 african country not making the 2nd round is starring us in the face and you're here concocting fanthom beef with ghana with your bird brain. ewu |
Who are the jealous ones? You ain't going to play me for a fool.Answer: YOU your posts reeks of the stench of pure jealousy. i bet anytime any of your family members get a good job or make some good money, you're the type to squeeze face and be unhappy |
i see alot of playa hating going on in here. . .i go to school wit a bunch of ghanians and they all support nigeria at the world cup so i dunno wat you're talking about. . .drop all that hate in your blood folks; it can shorten your lifespan |
Ghana is wishing Nigeria to fail. . .and I repeat "Jealousy. . . . . .is the root of hatred" - evi edna ogholi |
Waiting for Ghana to win a worldcup game without being awarded a penalty and playing 10 men.^^^Jealousy |
i renounce the naija part of my nationality for ghana for the duration of this world cup |
GoooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
mehn, a situation where all 6 african reps in africa's world cup not making the second round is starring us in the face |
. . .only if we defeat south korea and qualify |
Of course I completely agree with the business part, but i don't think former international players are necessarily the ones to change the system for the better. I agree with your first idea of having credible new experienced people to step up at the NFA, but also corporations and individual business people in the country have mobilize for the change. If Dangote as he said was a lifelong Arsenal supporter why he doesn't invest in a club in Lagos where, people love Foot ball and where you r likely to fill the stadium every Saturday or Sundays?check platini for france and bakenbaur for germany. nigerian ex-footballers may be mostly un/half educated but atleast their experiences in how things are done in europe and love for/knowledge of the game is a better qualification than mostly corrupt politicians running our football. you know the state of our politics right? |
England has always been an over-rated/underperforming side in the national level since 1966. . .has nothing at all to do with john terry |
What will happen to theCorrected Answer: They will be inherited by immediate family members (a la idahosa) like most business enterprises |
^^^people like you is why africa is so backward as a continent |
this story has long been exposed as fake. . .do you guys have to use lies to try and i wish it was true tho so that the wonderful work of jesus can be used as a tool to convince unbelievers of his awesome power. . .unfortunately jesus is long dead and buried |
https://i671.photobucket.com/albums/vv71/mgkmc/GIFS/WTFGaryColeman.gif um, was this intended to be funny? |
I'm not using 'wrong terminologies'; I've been watching the WC on ESPN since the beginning. These commentators have made several hateful comments: if you don't think calling a country wretchedly poor or acting as if a team isn't capable of being a treat because they haven't seen a cell phone before is offensive or ignorant, then we live on different planets.you're a female. you need to be quiet when men are discussing soccer |
God have mercy on us impatient, curse-filled, arrogant, ignorant, clueless and merciless Nigerians.smh @ you doing what you're accusing others of doing in the same line. if you support mediocrity and failure; sorry i dont. lagerman or whatever ever his name is needs to take his oyibo azz back to sweden. . .if we dont win the next game |
I thought I was the only one that was tired of the commentators on ESPN. Those guys are woefully offensive and can't help but to display their hateful ignorance. Even as an American, I've never been able to root for the US team; I don't support failure, so I commend you on at least giving them a chance. Goodness knows that if the US advances, we'll never hear the end of it; you know how we do things.@ bolded. . .i think you're using the wrong terminologies Insert Quotethe commentator's british and we've seen players missed clearer chances. i think you're starting to overeact |
I owe none of you atheists any apology whatsoever for that thread you are talking about. That thread is not to prove to me weather there is God because THERE IS GOD AND HE IS MY LIFE. Without him i will be nothing. That thread is for you who are doubting God's existence. Our own as christians is to pray and God in his infinite wisdom knows how best to answer our prayers. If it pleases him, he answers exactly the way we prayed and if it doesnt please him he answers differently. God is not under obligation to please me and I bow to his wisdom. You people wanted me to come and be exchanging arguments about God's existence in that thread. It will be foolishness for me to argue with you about God's existence. GOD REIGNS SUPREME OVER ALL THE HEAVEN AND EARTH and i still pray he makes himself manifest to you more than he has ever done. I have no response to the junk you people were dropping in that thread. And who says if God doesnt answer my prayer the way i want it his word doesnt stand or he is no more faithful? God's word stands sure. Jesus is coming soon. Pls give your life to him.maybe if you had not ran out of /avoided the thread in shame your god would have acted upon your request. your god probably dont respond to the prayer request of cowards @alexleo God bless you man. It is already 90mins we are presently living in 90mins believe me (Father time of Grace) The Word of God has fufilled already. Pls fire on the Word of God.blah, blah, blah. . .delusional freaks |
I wanted to ignore this match but hey, seems we are in for upsets today!!this is not "an upset" in the sense of the word; maybe u have been watching too much espn. since when did the US become a world |
