The application was cancelled and we got full refund after 3 days.

Drop box for my husband took about 5weeks.
Submitted first week in January and picked up second week in Febraury

I also think you need to pay transmission fee as same thing happened to me but i just resent my docs back alongside the transmission fee.

I actually added my BVL to it and submitting personally is not an option as the available date one is seeing is August which is almost past the 30days deadline and i have a trip planned in August and cannot risk hanging my passport for this.

I sent my passport and it was delivered last week monday. I just got it back that i didnt add Biometrics sticker. I did my biometrics in 2018 and i dont even know where to get sticker from. Please what can i do as the agents in the webchat seemed to know less of what i can even do.

Well don to all the gurus answering and helping peeps here. We have finally received PPR for my spouse.

Application date - Aril 12th 2023
BVL - July 10 2023
PPR - July 10 2023

Although no Visa details on his tracker just like some people has said but on application status, it says the Final decision has been taken and Visa has been approved.

I have sent the passport today via DHL i cannot wait and do not expect any contrary news.

Wishing all the hopefuls a successful decision.

Could you state why your first application was denied? Even with an invitation letter? Wow! Please state reasons for refusal so we can learn.

From my GCMS notes, the Visa Officer thought that we wanted to "Japa" as we applied that we were also travelling with our kids who were US citizens. This time we just told them we were going alone and leaving our kids behind then we opened a joint account and put our savings in the joint account. I would say that different VO different vices.
This time around a friend just wrote a letter and we didn't add anything like his PR card or work document like the previous application. and after that denial, i have also travelled to the uk, US and some African countries.
So who knows what worked this time!

my first application was in 2018 and i was denied. It pained me because i thought it was easy peasy as i had a valid Us visa in my passport and my friend in Canada wrote me an invitation and added all her legal documents.

Fast-forward to April this year, i thought to try again.

Just checked the tracker this morning and say Visa expiry date and Visitor Visa Document number

On God waiting for PPR and update for my husbands application.

Good morning, so i was at the Lagos embassy this morning for a follow up interview after the interview waiver. They kept us waiting and started at 7:30am on the dot

Thankfully i was approved.

So many blue paper flying around. An aged woman that had overstayed was given a 10year ban as her only reason for overstaying was covid. the VO kept asking her why did she not apply for extension before her 6months stay expired but started begging as she could not explain beyond the covid reason.

Only two people were approved before me. An old man then a family going for medical for their child. Another lady was placed on Administrative processing as the VO said they will send her an email.

I had my 3kids in the US previously and went with all my receipts but i was not asked for any document. The consular just asked basic questions like how many times i had previously visited the US, details about my last visit, duration of my last visit and details about my job and my husbands job.

She also asked me how long i intended to stay in this visit and i told her i was not sure yet as travel plans are yet to be made.

I had previously applied with my husband and his was renewed without an interview.

Picked up my passport today with 6month visa stamp.

i applied with my spouse but his passport is nowhere to be found. VAC do not have it while paid mail says his case is closed since 19th of January.

our company registration documents (both of us are directors) but we didnt submit the coy statement of account

Please someone should assist on how to go about locating my husbands passport as i cannot even use my visa when his is pending.

Well done all.

Been silently reading and it kept me going. Biometrics was done 18th of November, 2021. Sent paid mail for myself and spouse on the 20th of January. Response gotten was that no decision was made on my application while my spouse case has been closed.

Tracked it yesterday and saw that it was now sent to VAC. Received collection mail at 9.40am on the 28th of January. My spouse is still showing application with DMC, no collection mail yet as well.

we have sent a second follow up mail but feedback still says application has been closed.. He visited TLS but passport is not there.

Please what can we do as we applied together and his case was closed before mine. what can we do next?

First of all the priority service is £220 that’s to receive decision on your application within 5 working days. The N42,000 you’re talking about is for Premium Lounge or Walk in, it will only help you solve @bolded. So if you choose a premium service, you will eventually get an appointment for a closer date.

Thank you. I am not opting for priority. I Just want to know if I go with 42k and walk in to get my biometrics done since I am not seeing available dates.

Hello Mulberry,

The best program suitable to pursue will be a Graduate Diploma/Certificate that is related to your work experience which will be easier to convince the VO with genuine intentions of wanting to return to the academic classroom because of your years of practical activeness in such career field, irrespcetive of your previous studies in computer science which you have no practical work experience and the study gap in between might give rise to curious questions from the VO. Also, your age will not be a hindering factor for wanting to pursue a Graduate Diploma/Certificate as its a professional program.

To questions:

1. It depends on the course you want, as most schools offers different courses but related to your work experience. I think either one of the following course might be suitable; Human Resources Management, Cybersecurity Management, Accounting, Marketing, Global Management, Finance, Business Administrative etc for Graduate Diploma/Certificate.

You can check out schools like Memorial University, Conestoga College, McEwan University, Humble College, Fanshawe College.

Sometimes, your UG CGPA doesn't really count except for the last two (2) years, and writing a very constructive motivational letter or study focus/proposal in addition to your work experience etc can also earn you a Masters program with your UG CGPA but could be painstaking and tedious. A Graduate Diploma/Certificate is still the likely program.

2. This depends on your financial capacity and capability, and other available home ties (economic and social). If the kids are still young and there is the financial capacity to take them along, its best you do since your husband have no intention of moving any time soon. But there is no enough funds to cater for you all or to show to convince the VO of been financial sufficient, then apply alone.

Though moving with your kids is easy because they won't be needing a visa to Canada owing to their USC. So, you can apply alone and when its successful, you all can move together.

1. There are several schools that will offer you PGD or post graduate certificate related to Computer Science (depending on how high your 3rd class is too). Check Algonquin College, Lambton College, Conestoga College , Centennial College, Seneca College. If you are choosing a PGC, try to go for a 2 year program rather than a year program. Unfortunately, you cannot do an Msc with just a Bachelor's 3rd class in Canada.

2. If you can apply alone for the moment, it is better. That way you use your husband and kids as your home ties.

3. Courses related to Computer Science and your current job e.g. database development, I.T. Solutions, Web Development etc.

4. Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by USC but they can still join you later if you apply alone now.

I am new to the forum and will also go and start reading from page one as well.

I graduated since 2006 with a 3rd class. Studied computer science. I started working since 2008 and I am currently the branch manager in one of the Lagos branch of the bank where I ve been working. I am 36years old and would appreciate your advice and suggestions on the below talk;

1. Is there any school that will offer me admission to either study a PGD or a masters based on my Bsc grade and work experience?

2. I have three kids, if I can get admission should I apply alone or with my husband and kids? Although my husband cannot join me in Canada at the moment due to work and businesses to run here in Nigeria.

3. What courses is advisable to apply for if PGD or MSc. As it’s over 10years I graduated and have not done any other course since graduation.

4. My kids are all USC, do I need to apply for them or they can join me in Canada if I apply alone?

Please your advice, opinion, suggestions and positive criticism will be well appreciated.

Had my much long awaited princes on the first of August. Was induced and it was in active Labour for about an hour.

The pain was so strong at this point and I was shouting. By the time the nurse checked at 8pm I was just 3cm and by 9pm was fully dilated and pushed twice for the baby’s head then twice more and my little girl came out. Placenta was delivered 10mins later.

Kudos to mama that are usually induced without an epidural. Una get muscle! Third baby but first one for me to shout and loose control.

Thank you all team mates for looking out for one another I’m always in the background.

Wishing all my team mates and other mamas waiting for their little ones the grace of God to deliver safely with joy!

Any Florida bound? DW is seriously thinking of Florida, i have kept my cool even though i prefer Maryland. Anybody in the house got anything on Florida, hospitals , POE etc..

We had our first son in 2015 in Houston (Excerpts on visa interview and POE experience was posted). We both renewed our b1/b2 visa in April 2018 before the drop box cancellation.

DW is going for her second missionary journey come September. Choice of location very paramount considering the Houston flagged situation.

Any good advise please?

I landed in Orlando on Sunday and Poe was smooth after gathering all documents for previous births. Visa was renewed in March last year but was not used till now.

Was asked only two, what I was here for and how long I will be staying.

Told her childbirth and will be staying for two months. She stamped me in till December 2019 and I was out of there.

After all the horror stories, I am grateful to spend less than 4mins with the CBP Officer.
