samhardy: That's not outrightly true, If you can write essays. Register an account on fastweb.com and browse through the scholarships page. Most of them are essay based and not cgpa based. I got a $5000 scholarship there in 2018. Just research online, you will get opportunities. Ps. I also had 2.2 ( 2.8 ) from naija, and established my way out 3 Likes |

timesupreloaded: LOL. You are right. My greatest regrets ever was not pursuing my American dreams immediately after my nysc in 2012. Hoping that Nigeria will be great. About one year spent here in America is far better than the entire time I waited in Nigeria. Imagine your phone at 5% and you won't even bother about nepa taking light cos the light is always there. Imagine earning per hour compared to 7am to 7pm 31days salary per month. Imagine wearing same suit with your boss and no "oga-labour" system. Imagine your instructors/ lecturers pitching you for expositions, awards and network functions without demanding for money and sex. Imagine having a business idea and the system is there to support you. The first time I was sick and admitted here, I was crying cos of the state of art medical facility and world class vip treatment I got, it will difficult for a middle class in Nigeria to get such Oga, like every one here have said, you are just stupid and nothing more. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

timesupreloaded: Judging from all your stupid writeups all over nairaland, you didn't sound like someone who have been outside the shores of this country. Infact, you sounded bittered like someone who Walter Carrington has slammed over and over again. You comparing a place with law, orderliness, reasonable environment to ketu shows that you are daft. You comparing where people don't see cars as an achievement, where basic amenities is not something to fast and pray on, to a country where you have to share testimony in church because you bought a 2001 corolla shows you are dumb. Comparing a place where you get quality education, world class infrastructure, and global exposure to a place where education is a complete mess shows that you are sick. Comparing a place where police and security forces are happy rendering service to you in a rapid response to a place where it takes pizza 5mins to deliver while police and fire service takes 10hours shows you are insane. Comparing a place where you can walk into any firm, submit application and get employed without having to know anybody to a place where the first question to be asked is "who referred you?, do you know anybody here?" shows you are lunatic. Comparing a place where County, individuals and government is ready to assist you to grow, a place where every startups like fintech, farm crowdy, paystack and the likes run to to get start up fund to Nigeria where the government will literally kill your business with nepa bills, local govt levy, state levy, association levy, Union levy, shows that you are re-tarded. Comparing a place where you can enjoy stable water, 24hrs light, access to resources, average car, and even buy house on mortgage even when you are earning $10 per hour to a place where you will struggle to earn 80k monthly on average. From it, 10k goes to generator fuelling, 10k goes to nepa without light, armed robbers will also have Thier shares shows that you are brain sick. Comparing a place where I can wear deadlock, tattoo, and even army camo, and I won't be scared of intimidation. Infact, they will be happy to take pictures with you to a place where sarz will harass you and even shoot you because you are using iPhone shows you are crazy. Comparing a place where lecturers and instructors are happy to teach you and make you great to a place where lecturers will boldly tell you that you will fail a course and you dare not revolt shows that you are mentality deranged. I work just 20hours weekly cos I'm a student, I own an average car, rent my own apartment, enjoy 24hrs light, water, good road, healthcare, and World class resources, Just imagine what it will look like if I'm a full time worker. This are basic things I never enjoyed with my 100k salary working from 7am to 7pm while in Nigeria I'm done with you and will never reply you again. My advice to everyone, if you have the chance and opportunity to migrate legally, please do. Your next generation will be forever grateful to you. 44 Likes 10 Shares |

timesupreloaded: Times up, Timesupreloaded, Useni etc. I seriously don't know why you are so engraved in bitterness like this. Few moments on this forum, I have seen several hilarious posts from you on abroad topics. The fact that you enjoyed suffering and smiling doesn't mean everyone else would.. I pay student insurance here and get vip health treatment, Paid the same at my undergraduate level in Nigeria and couldn't get ordinary malaria tab. Here In US, I get to talk to my instructors, challenge them at will, call and mail them at will, a freedom I never enjoyed back in Nigeria University. Here, nobody, I repeat, nobody can use public forces to humiliate you, but back home, ordinary counsellor will gather police and army to beat up anyone against him. Here, I don't need to be connected to any politician or richman to get a job or internship I'm qualified for, the case isn't the same back home. Here, 911 works like magic. Police will get to you within minutes. Back in Nigeria, police will not even answer you if you don't buy fuel for Thier cars or settle them with bribe. Here, you can rise comfortably to any level because the environment works and favours business. Back in my home country, I have tried 5 separate businesses and failed because of poor economic factor. Just few semesters here as a student, I have been exposed to world class facilities and resources which I never enjoyed 1/50 of it throughout my entire five years of undergraduate in Nigeria. Here, you don't have to be rich to own a car, enjoy stable light, water and good road. Back in my hometown. You have to belong to the upper class or middle class to enjoy these. Here, forces will never take bribe from you or harras you anyhow unlike what police and sarz did to me back in lagos last year December just bacause I had a tinted hair. The fact that your family member migrated with visit visas and ended up been destitutes and nuisance doesn't mean every other person will. Like someone said earlier. If you migrated legally, have abroad education, there is no way you will suffer here because the jobs are there, you go work tire sef. You were talking about people making it back home. I spent 9 years of my post bachelors in Nigeria and I can tell you that up till now, none of my level mates whom we graduated together, and even people whom we served together that I'm still in contact with has made a specific limelight apart from regular struggling to stay out of poverty. Except the ones who have access to stolen / fraudulent funds or having rich family backup. Just shut the fuckup and let everyone who chooses to migrate legally to do that in peace. Enjoy your suffering and let others embrace Thier freedoms 63 Likes 10 Shares |

Adesegun1: I think I have mentioned this before to you in particular about Franklin University. Muleriders: Like I said earlier, frankilin University is unranked, it's MBA is also unranked, its MBA Is accredited by IACBE which isn't as popular as AACSB accreditation for top schools. Masters program for that matter. I may be wrong as this is just my own opinion, but I think you will have a better chance with a ranked MBA school with AACSB accreditation as well.

Read the requirements and instructions and then apply if eligible. harveygordon: As a current MBA student, I can answer this to the best of my knowledge. In general, STEM get more grants in the USA more than MBA and other fields because stem is more in demand according to news and rumours. However, MBA grants varies accross schools. For tier 1 universities, you are likely to get 100% scholarships if you have good grades. Schools like havard, MIT, Chicago booth and Co, they will ensure you are secured interms of scholarship, fellowship awards, graduate assistance, and even student loans because they know the costs are expensive and they will want you to be focused. For tier 2 universities, which I belong to one, you can hardly get a 100% full ride for MBA. the highest you can always get is tuition free while you sort out your living expense on your own. But to get this, you must have a very strong cgpa and GRE/Gmat scores. Reason is because you are competing with several others from India, China, and other part of the world for the little available funding. For tie 3 universities. It doesn't worth the MBA my brother. Just like in Nigeria labour market, you either belong to first class applicant or 2.1 applicants. 2.2 and the rest are less important. Same as tier 3 universities. You will struggle to get good jobs and they mostly don't have strong alumni bodies for job referral. As a foreigner with no legal work permit, you will struggle after graduation. As for their grants, they mostly use lollipop method. School fee can be $30k and they give you just $5k funding. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Wretch32:You remember that song!!!. No matter where you go, remember the road that leads you home, "wole Thomas or something like that" Personally, I was encouraged to always come back here and answer any question I'm knowledgeable of after seeing what my Indian and Philippine school mates are doing to their fellow country men. Guys, these people literally practice this kind of igbo apprenticeship system where one bigbrother in Lagos will bring in 2 boys from village and the two boys will Inturn bring two boys each and it continues that way like ponzi multilevel. Everywhere I go on campus, before I see one African, I will see three Indians. Its just an indication that they do help, inform and educate one another. We should always find time to look out for others at any free chance we have, together we can make the Nigerian community great. 21 Likes |

Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Muleriders: 5:11pm On Nov 03, 2019 |
Lexmane: 1. Today is Nov 3rd. According to your post, you haven't done the paid evaluation of transcript yet, neither have you written GRE. The chances of you meeting up with spring next year is close to zero and most schools resume for spring in January. 2. There are over 5,000 acrredited universities in the USA. no one will start listing schools for you. On that same phone of yours, hit Google and search for schools offering your desired course, go through their admission requirements and scholarship requirements to see if your credentials meet up. 3. Like what I tell every applicant. It's good to hope for full funding but at the same time, have in mind that most schools will only give you a partial fund that will cover tuitions only while you sort your living expense on your own. What I mean is that you may not get 100% full ride like people call it. Hence, you should be open to partial funding incase your dream of full funding isn't obtainable. Best of luck 5 Likes 1 Share |

In my own opinion, I think there are some other lucrative career part aside nursing. But like someone said, it's a field with low unemployment rate which means you can easily get job. Worriedgurl: Business degree is also good. With your business degree or MBA, the career path are endless. From supply chain to business analyst to marketing, administration, business strategist, project manager, sales, tax, accounting etc. You will find a career option in every business outlet either small or big. But I will advice you to be tech acquainted as well. If your school doesn't offer the tech aspect of business, you can learn them on udemy or other online resources. Courses like business analytics, data science, business intelligence, all those business sql and tableau stuffs. 3 Likes |

Sesandennis: As answered by another person above. If you don't know why you chose sociology as a proposed career, then you are likely to be denied again in your next interview. Changing career path isn't a crime. But not knowing why you want to spend thousands of Usd on a course is a big sin at the embassy. even if you have full funding + free car + free wife + free house, if you can't clearly defend why you are choosing a career path, you will likely be awarded the Green paper |
