Congrats on your landing. I am landing in a few days myself via Ethiopian airline and I get a few questions.
I have been struggling to keep my bags to 23kgso imagine my shock when I saw your 30kg! How much did you pay for the extra baggage and did you pay at the airport? Also what documents were requested for at the Poe?

Extra cost $200 and it was paid for at the Ethiopian airline office.

The officer asked for COPR, passport, he asked if we had other properties coming in later, we said no (if u have u should have ur goods to follow list) declaration card and how much funds

Thanks

Congrats on your landing. We will be traveling with our toddler in Feb next year (20months by Feb). Please can you share your experience traveling with your 2year old. You mentioned you had concerns with him. Can you advice more so that I will know what to expect.

Thanks

I packed plenty sweet mouth and let her move about if she wanted to, the screen occupied her too, I let her press press and sleep assisted too.

We used Ethiopia airline, Flight was scheduled for 1.10pm out of naija. We left the house at 8.30am and got there in good time, we had 11 check in bags (paid for 1 extra bag), 5 hand luggages, 2 laptop bags and 3 children trolley bags, hehehe, me sef tire for the load(family of 5).

All our bags were 30kg except 1 which was 20kg cos customs removed my palm oil (nonsense) my palm kernel and coconut oil made it thru, (maybe cos they were in smaller bottles)

Flight was on time, children were excited to be moving to a country with snow and made out plans of how they would play in d snow (too much cartoon) lol. Inflight entertainment was ok, food (rice) was saltless but we chop am like that, before hunger go kill purzon above sea level.

We got to Ethiopia on time, waited like for 2-3 hours before proceeding to Dublin (they changed crew and some other “minene” we didn’t leave d plane) after like 40 minutes we were off again to Toronto, got there in good time but the queue at d airport for all d registration (stamping of copr and getting of sin) made us miss our connecting flight to Edmonton but we were fixed for the next one and the attendant was nice to check in all our hand luggages (free at last)

Flight from Toronto to Edmonton is 4-5 hours inside one country.
I had read someone’s post somewhere where he/she said no free food on air Canada so I wasn’t expecting anything as I no get money to buy, I positioned myself well to sleep then someone tapped me and asked what I’d like to eat, first thing I said was I don’t want to buy, (I no Dey for gbese o) then she said, your ticket comes with a meal, o boy see as I asked for big sandwich, hehehe.

We got to Toronto, went to baggage pickup and only 4 made the trip with us, we went to complain and our details was taken and told they would give us a call when they arrive, all bags came in later that night.

I noticed one of my bags had been opened and a nylon containing detergent was torn open, I guess they thought it was hard drugs (so those of u planning to transport those things be careful o, dem go catch u)

We arrived the day snow decided to start falling again. As at today it’s -29

We got home to already cooked food, yippie!!!

All in all the journey was ok, the children behaved themselves especially my 2 year old that I was really concerned about.

This is the end of my story, thank you.

hey guys, my wife only has a statement of result from her school NAU, Awka. she recently called the school to confirm if her certificate i ready and after the school official asked her the year she graduated(2009) her course of study, faculty and a bunch of other questions, the lady simply said,"are you sure the cerificate is even ready yet?" .This is the school's official who doesnt think that a BSC cert since 2009 is ready.anyway, that is a story for another day. I will just like to know if my wife can use her statement of result to work in Canada. We are due to arrive in April and i'm asking so i know whether to save the money it will cost to send my wife to Awka to personaaly hunt down the certificate.

All the seniors in the house...what's your experience with this issue? I look forward to your responses

Thanks

You can use her statement of result for the EE process, however, this is the wrong thread, ask further questions here

She should choose the NOC occupation that best describes her job responsibilities. MummmyJaygirls said in this post that her job title is Admininstrative Officer but her job description is for HR and she chose HR NOC.

@Smileymum, you can post your job responsibilities here (if you are comfortable with that) so that people can assist you to choose the NOC that matches your job responsibilities.

Babe, this ur brain ehnn, i wonder how u remember stuffs posted. Well done

Yes @Hamiltondreamer, after PPR, how long will it take for the passport to be returned. Also, should I use DHL or VFS? they requested for IMM 008 too.

Thank you

If you are in a hurry, and by hurry i mean as from 1-6 wks, do not use Vfs use DHL, if u never ready yet to comot naija, then u can use Vfs

Hi Santino. I read from the cic website that we are to submit our passports to the visa office servicing our country of nationality orrr to the visa office of the country where you have been admitted for at LEAST one year.

Now, I'm supposed to be in Switzerland in January and God willing I should get PPR before I'm out of Switzerland.
Now my question is this, what if I submit my passport to Accra and don't get it back before I need to leave Switzerland? My visa isn't up to a year so I cannot submit to the visa office in Paris.

How long after PPR mail do you have to submit your passport to the appropriate visa office?

Just inform CIC of ur change in location and they will further instruct u on what to do

Not all churches issue the same certificates as registries. I have Heard of cases, were the certificate was rejected and the people involved had to go to the registry. I only know of Catholic Churches. I might be wrong

Protestant churches (catholic, anglican, methodist, baptist etc) are authorized to issue govt marriage certs, some pentecostal churches are licenced too,

all those "one man business church" are not licenced samsam smiley they just spring up one day inside kpako shed before u know, FCDA don bulldoze the thing the next day cry, if u marry for that kind of church, my sisthrens and brethrens go registry go collect ur marriage cert o lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

eg: vomit power ministries inc, breast and milk church etc grin grin

And so i visited British Council yesterday bearing fire and brimstone. I was thinking should i just make my grievance known by shouting and spitting fire but on the second thought i was like you want to shout in a foreign mission, see the security man beside you will just package you out now. They won't even respect you that you're one JustinTrudeau, the PM Canada Nairaland division. So i to calm down, make den no mistake me for terrorist.

When the lady met me i said to her,see ehn i don't know where to start but you guys have made my life difficult, pls release my results.I told her i wont leave until a personnel attend to me. She promptly took my details and dashed off.

She came with the assistant IELTS administrator for Lagos and PH, although i've seen them copy the guy in one of the mails. The guy was just apologising that he just got to know about it 2weeks ago and he has been working on it. He said the investigation team has concluded their investigation just for Cambridge to clear me cos they are all test partners. He also mentioned that they are investigating 2 sessions of my results because of the last one i did.He was not certain of the session.I told him they have been making my life very difficult and stagnant and its affecting my psyche. He said he will still go and follow up wit Cambridge. He said he doesn't collect candidates phone number but he will collect mine.I tink the guy felt for me sha.

The guy further mentioned that they hardly get withheld results in Nigeria that he was surprised,i retorted WHY ME

My people, long and short of it is that my results is still with Cambridge.Dont mind my long epistle,i just had to let it out

Eeya! Pele o, why don't u just rewrite pending the release?
