Smoky and awful, people were adviced to stay indoors if they had nothing important to do outside

The way Edmonton looks right now, thanks to the wild fires in Highlevel, Alberta.

Edmonton is about 7hr away from Highlevel, so imagine as the place is.

Kudos to the firefighters and others combating the fires

Please can you explain further

In the past couple of weeks in Edmonton, CBSA have been seizing cargo (mostly foods) weighing over 20kg, claiming thats the total amount of weight to bring in for food. So if u want to cargo food, it should be 20kg in total or less. Any cargo that has bugs will be thrashed, be it food or clothes in the food bag, as long as kokoro don enter the cloth, it aint going anywhere with u

If you are coming to Edmonton and plan to cargo food, u may need to put a pause on it, or cargo food of about 20kg max. Eyes don dey shook here o.

Hello ALL
Please landed seniors and those with the knowledge, would an international DL suffice for the normal DL in Calgary? My normal DL is expiring soon and i dont think i'ld be able to get it reissued before leaving because of time constraints.
I hear the international DL take 2weeks to process, should i go for it or just present my expired DL?

Bring your license like that

Hmm.

Confirm here and here.

I actually wrote easier not easy. Easier compared with RCMP. For both Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service, there are no residency requirements.

Ok

Depends on your province.

Apart from Ontario and Quebec, most provinces, territories and municipalities use RCMP as their police force. To join RCMP, you must have lived in Canada for the past ten years in addition to being a citizen or PR (see here).

Ontario's requirements are easier, check Ontario Provincial Police's site (here) or your intended municipality's police force site.

Are u sure about the bolded?

Ontario's requirements are easier but have u seen anyone join easily?

Dear Calgarians,

Please would it be possible for me to take my knowledge test, and full Class 5 test within a month of arrival?

Plan is to take knowledge test like in the first week, then acclimatise a bit, take some classes and take the road test in like my 4th week. I'm already preparing for the knowledge test.

Only challenge is that I'm seeing requirements to register for the tests are two government issued IDs... Is there any way to have two Canadian IDs in less than a month or am I misinterpreting this requirement?

Secondly, I've read here (I think vcole mentioned) that one can drive for 90 days without Alberta Drivers Licence. My question is, during these 90 days is my Nigerian licence valid or it has to be backed by an International Drivers Licence?

Thanks in advance for your contributions.

Your authentic naija licence will suffice.

Good Day House,

I am currently collating and uploading my documents. My spouse is the primary applicant. Part of the POF, i am planning to send some funds from my personal savings as a gift to support the application. I am obviously a dependant, do i need to do a deed of gift to support this fund or we should just clearly state it in the LOE? Your advise will be highly appreciated.

She's your spouse, no need for gift deed. Just transfer and u can write LOE to make u sleep peacefully at night smiley

Hey guys!!!
The subsidized bus pass wasn’t in effect when I came in. It was only just included 3 months ago. It was, but to access it, one ought to have his/her NOA

I don’t think we have any under-18 on this thread so nightlife and fine buildings shouldn’t be a reason to choose a province. I met a Nigerian at the Millwoods gym and he told me he has been in Canada for 10yrs. He landed in Quebec because many of his friends chose there but he and many of them had find their levels after 3 years-he’s doing fine now. Another one I heard of in church came from Toronto and got a job in her 2nd week in Edmonton. I met a Somali girl who left Toronto for Edmonton because she wasn’t cut out for the petty jobs that were available to her there. She said some of her friends are still there doing call centre jobs because they like the big city feel.

In other words Edmonton is the city flowing with milk and honey grin grin

Hello people of God!

I am in serious dilemma. Please help look into this matter.

My husband's sister sought asylum in Canada last year. Now, we are in the process of our EE. One of the questions asked "if i have siblings or in-law in Canada", we don't need any point from them and don't want to include them.
Will this be a misinterpretation if we don't include them?
Must we include them even if we don't want points from them?

Help needed embarassed

Since you are not claiming points, say no. But since she will be on list of siblings, You will need to explain why u said no sibling in canada so it won't be looked at as misrepresentation
