Nigeria's Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, is the first Nigerian Vice-President that is widely accepted across all geopolitical zones of Nigeria, not minding his ethnicity or his religion. Following the events that had the VP as a guest, the smile on the people knows no bound. The women, youths and the children are always glad to have him around, chanting the President's name as a sign of their perception of his loyalty to his boss and struggling for handshakes.

One of the love that bound the masses, the school children, market women and some of the poorest family is "Osinbajo", walking from school to school, market to market, home to home and even paying surprise visits to small scale business owners. I believe it is safe to call the Prof. "the People's Vice - President", owing to the fact that the vice - presidents I knew would rather prefer to go to the elites companies, established investments to lobby for contracts and travel to meet the who-is-who across the world.

Although the Vice - President is not lobbying for Nigeria's top political seat, yet he is one of the most qualified.

Yes, the Northerners love for Buhari's Deputy is real and I have being following up with many political related analysis, while some are real, few others are just fake narratives, not taking cognizance of facts and documentation of the majority and the dignitaries perception about the former University Teacher.

In retrospect, one could wonder if the learned silk has seven lives, giving in more energy, never relenting or tired to do more service to the nation. Even when it seems like a busy day, Osinbajo still defies protocol to attend functions in the far Northern states of Nigeria. So what more could we say of the maestro?

The verified facts remains that, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN has taken the Northern Geopolitical zone of Nigeria as his second home, having traversed to all nooks and crannies of the states. Pastor is never scared whenever he visits, knowing that he has performed and he is still performing at his best irrespective of the region or religion, making him the most hardworking and unsentimental vice-president the black most populous nation ever had.

It is a known fact that the northerners do invest massively in Agriculture, and other businesses. The Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo led Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council is already counting its gains, for both local and foreign based investors. In lieu of this, the north is a great beneficiary and couldn't hide their gratitude as their businesses keeps booming.

Despite the fear of the dying insurgency in the north, Osinbajo have visited villages, markets, functions (both public and private) as keynote speaker and also commissioning of projects. These and many more qualities made him more acceptable and in the chess of political bargains.

In the build up of the 2019 electioneering process, the VP escaped an helicopter crash in Kogi, the outpour of the public sympathy showed that Osinbajo is not just love by God, he is also admired by men both in the north and across the nation.

Indeed, the northerners appreciates loyalty and do acknowledge the best brains, that is "Why the northerners love Buhari's Deputy, Osinbajo", devoid of the political calculations by some minorities who are mere jobbers.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is committed to the betterment of Nigeria from the grassroot.
The student union group made the statement on Tuesday when it paid the Vice President a courtesy visit at the State House in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

NANS praised the Vice President for his commitment to a better Nigeria and for his loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Led by its Global President, Comrade Danielson Bamidele Akpan, the delegation of Nigerian Students and stakeholders proposed that the Federal Government establishes a programme that will benefit Nigerian students.

Comrade Akpan extolled the Vice President for his exemplary leadership quality, patriotism, loyalty and dedication to the betterment of Nigerians at the grassroot level through the National Social Investment Programme.

He then proposed that for the benefit of Nigerian students, the Nigerian Students Entreprenuership Programme be established to raise business capital for students who want to venture into business and other vocation.

In response, Prof Osinbajo thanked the delegation for the visit and commended the initiative of the Global President while promising further collaboration between the office of the Vice President and NANS.

Some narrators have over the past few weeks taken the political calculation of some minorities over the majority in the Northern part of the country. This may be connected to some cabals that have started their political calculation even when President Muhammadu is yet to spend a year of his second term as the Democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.



I read through a piece titled: "Why is the north is afraid of Osinbajo?", surprisingly, it is nothing but a fake narrative, not taking cognizance of facts and documentation of the majority and the dignitaries perception about the former university teacher.



I will definitely not add words to what the former have said in that article, because the piece doesn't have any rudiment for assessment, rather I will state some facts which could be reconfirmed.

The Vice President has been silent in recent time , with the limited obligations given to him, he has become redundant and his expertise wasted just because of ethnic and political arrangement, it is an open secret that the Northern cabal which is the most powerful cabal in the presidency does not particularly like the vice president, the removal of their beloved son from the DSS was one of the many perceived sins he committed and his presidential wings has been clipped , the president not handing over power to the Vice President when he goes for his trips are clear indication that president does not key into the Vice President’s vision .
While many have seen the president and his cabals as betrayals, stating the fact the only reason people reelected buhari was because of the trust and landmark Osinbajo was able establish during his first tenure, Osinbajo was the only shinning light in the administration, even the president was a flop , he failed in specific areas where people voted him into office to tackle, but Osinbajo was always there to clean up the mess and make everything look good, he handled the country efficiently in the brief stint while he was bestowed with the presidential power , but the northern cabals think otherwise and deemed him too arrogant because he sacked a man who mismanaged the power given to him.


Back to my question why is the north afraid of Osinbajo?, there is a deep conspiracy theory that the northerners are planning to produce the next President, even though the agreement between President Buhari and the Southwest APC is that the highest office would be moved to the south , and osinbajo poses great danger for their plans , they know he enjoys the goodwill of the masses, and if he decides to contest for the office of the president, he would likely carry the day , so in order for him not to be too powerful, they made sure he was less influential and disconnected him from task that would make him more popular.
While many have called for the Vice President to resign from his office , the vice president has patiently gone about the menial duties which he was given, he has showed class even all through the storm that the northern cabal has thrown towards him but the question how long can he endure this humiliation from the Northern Cabal?

You are obviously one of those true enemies of Nigeria that Pastor Tunde Bakare is talking about. Supporting someone you definitely know is a rogue just because you share same ethnicity. Tinubu is a rogue and should not get close to the position of President. Osinbajo is an intelligent man that can probably do well for the country but can't seem to be man enough to take a stand; one day, he is for restructuring and State Police; the next day he is not for restructuring and State Police. Probably too scared to rock the boat.

You are obviously being economical with the truth.
No Nigeria leader, dead or alive have called for restructuring and work tirelessly more than Osinbajo.
What Osinbajo is always distancing himself from is the geographical restructuring which many accidental analyst ignorantly think is just restructuring.
Who is Osinbajo afraid of?
He is not afraid of anyone and will never be scared. He is a man of honour and integrity.
What some people want to see is conflict between Osinbajo and Buhari like we saw during Obj. That will only drag the country backward.

Don't stress yourselves,

Nigeria has overtaken Egypt as the largest rice producer in Africa. Nigeria now produces 8 million tonnes out of the Africa average of 14.6 million tonnes of rice annually. Egypt used to produce 4.3 tonnes annually but suffered a decline of almost 40 percent in the last one year.
This is a clear evidence that the President Muhammadu Buhari's rice policy is moving in the right direction.

Pa Adama Aduku, the old soldier who stole the show at the 2018, Nigerian Army Day Celebrations(NADCEL), heldIn Lagos is dead.

Aduku, who was presented with an award of excellence by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, given to him by the Nigerian army, was said to have died yesterday, December 31, 2018.

His death was announced by one of his relations on the Whatsapp platform of the Director Defence Information Defence Headquarters news platform early this morning.

Born 1918, to a peasant farmer at Abejukolo-Ife, at Omaha Local Government Area of Kogi State, Aduku joined the army in 1945.

The old man who was the Centre of attraction, told the Punch News in an interview that he was still very strong in bed strong in bed at his age.

The old soldier who said he never planned to join the army however had a change of mind when one day he met a young man beat their local chief.

“I was coming back from the farm one evening when I saw a man who was younger than me at the time beating our village head,” Aduku recalled with nostalgia as he shared his life’s story with our correspondent earlier in the week during an encounter. “The man named Salikawa was a soldier who resorted to beating up our chief for refusing to carry his bag and seeing him off to his house, which was 10 miles away.

“When the matter was reported to the District Officer, the chief was advised to obey the soldier in his own interest or face whatever consequences that resulted from that.

“I was very angry and bitter and I made up my mind to join the military so that I could go back to the village and also beat up Salikawa for humiliating our chief. He told Punch in an interview.

The United Nations Children’s Fund says an estimated 26,039 babies were possibly born in Nigeria on New Year’s Day.

UNICEF’s Nigeria Representative, Mr Peter Hawkins, said on Wednesday in a statement Nigerian babies would account for almost seven per cent of the estimated 392,078 babies to be born on New Year’s Day globally.

Hawkins said this figure is the third highest number of babies in the world, after India with 67,385; and China, 46,299.

“The beginning of a new year and this year, a new decade, is a chance for us to reflect on our hopes and dreams for the future of Nigeria, especially for those who stand to inherit this country; its children.

“As we start each new year, we are reminded of the potential of each and every Nigerian child embarking on her or his life’s journey if only they are given that chance to survive and thrive,” he said.

The representative said, however, that for millions of newborns around the world, including in Nigeria, the day of their birth was far less auspicious, and sadly, was often their last.

According to him, 2.5 million newborns died in just their first month of life around the world in 2018; about a third of them on the first day of life.

“In Nigeria, this was 318,522 deaths; among those children, most died from preventable causes such as premature birth, complications during delivery, and infections like sepsis.

“In addition, more than 2.5 million babies are born dead each year, with more than 400,000 stillborn deaths taking place in Nigeria annually,” he said.

Hawkins said UNICEF’s Every Child Alive campaign called for immediate investment in health workers with the right training.

According to him, workers are equipped with the right medicines to ensure every mother and newborn is cared for by a safe pair of hands to prevent and treat complications during pregnancy, delivery and birth.

“Too many mothers and newborns are not being cared for by a trained and equipped midwife or nurse, and the results are devastating.

“We can ensure that millions of babies survive their first day and live into this decade and beyond if every mother has good pregnancy care and every baby is born into a safe pair of hands.

“That means having well-equipped facilities with well-trained staff who can be there to welcome every Nigerian child into this world safely and healthily.

“This is especially critical as we now only have 10 years to deliver on the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” Hawkins said.
