In Nigeria, the internal security of the state is widely regarded as one of the key indicators of a successful administration. The present administration had promised to put an end to the boko haram insurgent. They are still battling with it and the herdsmen invasion is rearing its ugly head. President Goodluck Jonathan spent many years in taming the militants in south-south Nigeria.
In this post, we shall highlight the top 5 most peaceful States in Nigeria. In case you are looking for a state with a low rate of ethnic wars, political wars and insurgency, then this post will be of great help for you.
#1. The FCT, Abuja
Abuja is the core of politics in Nigeria. All the top politicians are resident in Abuja and the internal security in Abuja is High. Since the Abuja bomb blast in 2014, there have not been any serious insurgent attack in the city of Abuja. The neighbouring state like Kogi, Nasarawa are all battling with serious herdsmen invasion while Abuja has been able to dispel serious security threats. Indeed, the FCT is one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria.
#2 Kebbi state
The rate of Political, religious and inter tribal wars are very low in kebbi. They don’t make the headlines for security issues. Kebbi is one of the most peaceful state in Nigeria. Governor Rocha’s Okorocha of Imo state once stated that Kebbi is the most peaceful state in the history of Nigeria. The statement is a testament of the fact that kebbi state is devoid of all forms of insurgency and other peace and security threats.
#3 Sokoto state
Sokoto state is situated in the North western region of Nigeria. Almost all the states around sokoto are struggling with serious security issues but sokoto has always remained unsoiled and unaffected by violence. Sokoto state is devoid of terrorism, herdsmen invasion, book haram insurgence and militants. Though there are some armed robbery incidents but they are not serious enough to affect the general peace of the state. Sokoto state is one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria.
#4 Akwa Ibom
Akwa Ibom has little or no record of religious wars. The state is dominated by Christians and is on most of the good lists in recent times. Akwa Ibom are known to be hospitable and welcoming to people from other tribes. Other tribes reside peacefully in Akwa Ibom with no worries of being attacked. During the peak of militancy, Akwa Ibom was among the south south states with the least number of militants and it remains one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.
#5 Ebonyi state
The fact that Ebonyi state is among the most peaceful states in Nigeria is unarguable. Security threatening issues are very low in Ebonyi state. Cases of Suicide bombing, cult clashes, herdsmen invasion, book haram, religious wars and militancy are all very low in Ebonyi state.
Ebonyi records one of the lowest cases of ritual killings. Ebonyi is known to be very hospitable to strangers. People from other ethnic groups are bound to reside peacefully in Ebonyi state. Source: https://politicsngr.com/top-6-most-peaceful-states-in-nigeria/amp/

Ezeakanobi: We igbos don't like him
He has done nothing in the south east to earn my vote
Personally I don't care 4 d igbo presidency considering your average igbos man lives a much better life than your average northerner despite presidency rotating there.
Buhari kastina state has 82.2% living in extreme poverty compared to 11.1% in my Anambra State which has never produced a president.
I rather live in an economic viable state in Nigeria than boasting my state has produced a president while wallowing in poverty so are you trying to tell me that buhari been a president hasn't reduced poverty in katsina through his appointment and those he empowered or you're saying a president coming from a state makes the people poorer??listen is Igbo becomes president that poverty rate in anambra can be reduced to 2%...An Igbo president can màke Onitsha port work again and states like Ebonyi can have more value for their Agriculture and solid minerals and the south east can easily be linked with rail way via an Igbo president.. so calm down |

Ebonyi is a state in Southeast Nigeria with two major parts Abakaliki and Afikpo and both were carved out from Enugu and Abia states respectively but over time Ebonyi has become the most abused and hated state by fellow south easterners..Also coupled with the general hatred other Nigerians have for igbos generally esp Yorubas from this thread you will see that https://www.nairaland.com/4684216/nigeria-better-without-igbos-alaba/4I think to save Ebonyians this headache they should just be moved to South south zone and be distinct just as Delta Igbos and ikwere people cc lalasticlala mynd44 |

Abagworo: Imo State has the highest youth participation by a very wide margin for that matter. Maybe they are still counting retired politicians because as it stands presently it is a 20 to 40 thing in Imo politics. No old man allowed. maybe you should carry out your own research in the true sense of an educated fellow just as they did and not on empty 'wishful thinking' |

Politics › Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, Enugu Top List Of Highest Youths In Politics by murphyibiam15(op): 5:11pm On Aug 17, 2018 |
A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), “67 Million Initiative’’ has rated Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom and Enugu as top states with the highest youths participation in politics.
One of the Conveners of the group, Mr Luqman Edu disclosed this at a news conference in Abuja on Friday.
Edu said that the rating was done among youths between the ages of 18 and 45 years.
He noted that the data was collated by members of the group in the various states to reveal the rate of youths participation in their states under its “Rate Your State Initiative”.
The convener said the report would be published regularly to show the performance of the Federal Government and states regarding youths in elected positions.
According to him, the aim is to promote youth participation in politics.
“Ebonyi has the highest with 36 per cent youths participation, followed by Akwa Ibom and Enugu with 34 per cent each, Bauchi came fourth with 32 per cent.
“Imo and Niger states had 29 per cent each, Nasarawa 26 per cent, while Katsina, Kogi and Zamfara had 25 each and Kaduna 24.
“Meanwhile, Yobe and Kwara states recorded the least youths participation with 5.67 per cent, followed by Ogun with 7.67 per cent, Osun, Jigawa, and Bayelsa had barely 9.67 per cent.
Edu said that the data revealed the low participation of youths in politics, a narrative the group was working to change.
Another Convener, Mr Mark Okoye, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning in Anambra, said that the “67 Million Initiative’’ was a coalition of Nigerians with the mandate to galvanise active youth to participate in politics and to support youth friendly policies.
Okoye said that the aim of the group was to also create a voice for the 67 million youths, irrespective of religion, political party, tribe or gender.
He said that the aim was to build and leverage on the bloc vote of youths for their interest to get many young people appointed into various positions in the states.
Mr Muhammed Abdulahi, Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Kaduna State said that the group would begin its work at the grassroots.
Abdullahi said that for the 2019 elections, the group would support the emergence of young candidates across all political platforms at the state and National Assembly levels.
He said that with this initiative, states would be closely monitored to know the level of youths in elected offices while mentoring them to vie for elective positions.
Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong, another convener and Commissioner for Finance in Cross River, said the group believed in grassroots politics so it would support youths vying for positions at the grassroots.
Ekpenyong said that the group also believed in youths growing in politics, so the focus for now was not on the presidential race but the state Houses of Assembly and the National Assembly.
He said that way, youths would learn the tenets of running for elective offices up the ladder. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/politicsngr.com/ebonyi-akwa-ibom-enugu-top-list-highest-youths-politics/amp/
