romeo:so murder is lesser of an offense than rape, right? who let this crazy goat out! |
typical life of a hursler! they begged and lied their way to europe. while there they feel too comfortable and suddenly develop attitude. seen many loud mouthed nigerians arguing over something they absolutely have no right over. once at heathrow, a loud mouthed nigerian had excess luggage and would not pay for the excess and still summoned courage to shout at the top of his voice that he is within his right. mtcheww! |
Jealousy is gonna kill these people. Sensible people would feel proud that a language from their country is so recognised. were the message in swahili, i doubt if there would be so much fuss. Why on earth wont you see anything good that is not yours? FYI you can rant as much as you like, vent your frustrations as much as u see fit but that is not gonna remove that message at Debs. ![]() |
ola olabiy:yes i need help, my 3 months old LV shirt is obsolete, i better hit oxford street fast! ![]() |
I remember a chanced meeting with my former state governor, Bafarawa, at Debenhams. After we greeted, one of the shop assistants could not hide her curiosity and asked me why we greeted him with so much respect and all. I asked her to wait and see for herself. The shopping that guy did left even the store manager in awe. Can you imagine this guy bringing his house maids to london just to help carry the shopping baskets? While i agree that yorubas and igbos by far outnumber hausas in london, yorubas and igbos are rarely seen in high street stores like oxford street. yorubas and igbos in london are mostly hurslers and oxford street is definitely not for the minimum wage brackets. If a you take a casual stroll along the east london's liverpool street, whitechapel, stratford or deftford bridges's open markets you would see yorubas in abundance doing "their bend and choose" shopping. |
Hausa and Fulani especially in the northwest are one and the same. Most people (including myself) in this region find it very difficult to categorize themselves as Hausa or Fulani. The line is very diminished. Its just like in America where the lines between irish and native american is almost non-existent. |
iwonbaoko:C'mmon it that all you've got? Let it out, all of it. I refuse to descend to your level. |
iwonbaoko:I think it is a great injustice to accuse me of a crime i know nothing about. Attrocities of few misguided individuates should not be used to condemn a whole society of people. Afterall there are many Hausas doing very well like the sanusis and Jegas of this whole. I am yet to see any comment saying all Hausas are good because of this few Hausas. So why tarnish Hausa nation as evil because of few bad eggs. In my opinion this is clearly two-faced hypocrisy. |
@poster Many northerners like me would have love to post on NL but the hate is so stiffling that it takes all my will power to do so. The hate, derogatory names are just too much. it numbs me to no end. |
violent:You are entitled to your opinion but my view is that Sanusi's reforms have been adapted by several countries not just in Africa but through out europe, and asia. Imagine the number of people using banks in Nigeria. His regforms affects each and every single one of them whether they know it or not. Then imagine all the countries borrowing his ideas and implementing them in their countries and you can simply realise why they put him where they put him. Bierber and middleton hardly produces such an influence on people. |
While u guys are busy eulogising yourself pls take a minute to review this glaring fact: Had the North followed the the voting pattern of the south by voting almost 99% for the candidate from their own region GEJ will never have seen the light of the day. To all who accuses the north of being bigots a little self assessment is needed here. Imagine GEJ getting 38% of votes cast from my state, Sokoto. Give me any state from the south where Buhari got 10%. So who really is a bigot here? |
sochan:Olabukola's being sarcastic. |
Nosyke:typical case of the pot calling the kettle black. ![]() |
i envy the test doctor ![]() |
I suggest we (all Nigerians in London) stage a massive peaceful protest on the day of the auction at sothesby's. |
Missy85:gloomy prospect for naira there. what if i convert my naira to dollar or pound now. won't that safeguard me from the impending armageddon? |
you've got 2 wonder what kind of PhD this guy got ![]() Tusky44:the joke is on you, buster. seem to me you are the one with the beer parlour argument. he has presented his case quite clearly. The least you could do is to counter his argument by presenting your case but i suspect you are too lazy for that, ain't u? |
daroz:spot on! |
dayokanu:camouflage style abi? I have collected many of those. am trying to stitch them together and send to my brother who is in the army. ![]() |
dobodobo:I am totally with dobodobo, government should do something about it. a recent research suggests that a rogue gene is responsible for that funny behaviour ![]() government should fund another research to isolate and destroy the gene for good. |
andyanders:you should consider writing in 2nd person singular when addressing cases like this. atiku is not registered with NL. ![]() atiku's name is mentioned and all southerners suddenly become hyperactive. jeez! one would wonder why he evokes this kind of feeling in you. I suspect you guys are at best ambivalent towards atiku. The mainstream north considers atiku a liability and couldnt case less what happens to him. atiku is dismissed in the north as soon as his name comes up in any serious(or even not serious: under the tree) discussion. The one u shud all watch out for if you are really hell bent on stopping a northerner from getting to aso rock (impossible all things being equal) is general buhari. ![]() |
@poster, nigeria is very unique and incomparable to any any country in the world. since you talk of population, in nigeria population increases as you venture desertward. dont ask me why, i did not make it so. what else do you want to know? ![]() |
kushe:u don miss road dude. next time read the topic before you post. ![]() |
my gf is plain looking but she thinks she is the second coming. i use to think she was anorexic because of the impossibly little amount of food she eats before me until i caught her with plate piled with tuwo that scares the shit out of my aboki nyash. |
^ good to know you at least acknowledge the fact that what he did was to save the country. In the same vein he unseat elected government to save the country from internal enemy when nigeria was heading for destruction. i would swap a corrupt politician for an honest military man any day. |
maimalari:you can continue living in self denial as long as you want but it is a rock solid fact that the north put obasanjo in power and this happened in one the freest elections in Nigeria (1999). the north did not put obasanjo through undemocratic means but rather by the sheer power of the majority. If we are to keep to the truest definition of democracy, the north being monolithic will always, always produce the president. Even if the disparate tribal south unite (which will happen when kerosene successfully mix with water) it can never beat the north. The power of the north is god given and it even reflected in you (you cannot help but use a northern name for a username). do you seriously think jonathan can go anywhere without the backing of the north? why do you think he is running helter skelter scouring the north (shitting his pants in the process ) and canvassing for acceptance he will never get? |
Able general. The chadians got a taste of his bile when they got greedy. In 1983 Chadian soldiers invaded and took 19 islands in Lake Chad within Nigerian territory. The then Brigadier Buhari, who was the General Officer Commanding commanding the 3rd Armoured Division (which he did from November 1981 - December 1983) successfully carried out a blockade of Chad. After which all the territories were returned. The Nigerian Army under Buhari then pursued the Chadian Army as far as 50 km into Chadian territory. I doff my woodland khaki hat to you sir! May God give you the gift of serving your dear county, again. Happy birthday. |
likeme:i think the best thing is to find what she loves most and buy for her and be spontaneous when dealing with her. surprises often disarm most women. but if she is really so reserved as he described her then only god can help her. well a therapy could also not be a bad idea if he could find a decent therapist in Nigeria(supposing he lives there). |
slymm:hahaha! this is excetionally hilarious. nairaland can be fun when people are not bitching about in a tribal tug of war and spewing hateful comments. ![]() |
A cousin of mine tells me that her husband compliment almost every woman when they are together. He will often say, "oh you look exceptionally beautiful today", "that dress looks gorgeous on you", " i like your pink". most of the women are family friends and often feel embarrassed because his wife is present but he does not seem to notice. Lately, when they are walking by he would look at a girl who is passing by and say "oh my god, she's got a nice ass, didn't she?"; does he seriously expect her to say oh yeah, "that girl is damn hot", "nice boobs there" and he would look at the wife and add, rather reluctantly"just like yours baby". this makes the wife insanely jealous and he would often dismiss her complain and say "didnt you say there should be no secret in our marriage? i feel like a cheat if i don't voice out my feelings". Now, don't think that my cousin is ugly. She is the perfect girl that most girl will kill to have her looks and figure. My friend told me when ever his wife is angry at him she would often keep mute when he tries to strike a conversation with her and if he persist she would say "oh you are still there I am pretending you are not here? One day when she told him that he let out a very nasty fart, loud and smelly and the wife took a pillow and started beating him calling him names. he just laughed at her and reminded her that he is not there. |
I find it very ironic when someone from the South condemn the entire North for trying to hold onto power by hook or crook whenever an individual from the North makes a misguided statement. I think if we should use opinion of individuals to echo the opinion of an entire region then the North and South are no different. In fact it can be argued that the South is even more violent than the North. I will prove my point shortly. Obansanjo, in his desperate bid to secure a third term famously said and I quote "2007 elections are a do or die affair". Do we blame the entire South? No. Election or political violence very rarely happens in the North but the same cannot be said about the South. Day in day out we hear high profile politically linked assassinations in the South; Bola Ige, Funsho Williams and the violence during Adedibu era are few examples. In the South East I know there have been many too. I am sure of recent its still on going but i cannot know for sure as I am out of the country for long. These goes to show that the North does not see politics or power as a something worth resorting to violence for. I don't blame the entire South for all these political violence rather I blame the individuals involved and I hope our brothers from the South can see things from my perspective. |
where are the dudes? Don't your significant others have any nasty habits? C'mon even though women naturally snitches, there has got to be one or two things you don't like about your girlfriend/wife. As for me i don't have a girlfriend or wife. My mother will faint i even attempt having one at my age. ![]() |

He has the habit of farting all the time, and he thinks its funny, he says, there is nothing there, you fart your own lets see. We can have a competition. [b][b]Disgusting!, he likes to do his business in the toilet with the door wide open while attempting to discuss important issues. I do not want to see him or anyone in the toilet, shut the damn door. Hee has absolutely no boundaries. I have told him that seperate bedrooms will be the only way after the i dos.
