universities and other colleges in the uk are licensed by uk border agency as being able to provide quality education to international students. The license is called sponsor license. Losing a sponsor license means that the university is trusted no more. It could be that the university is admitting students who have no legal right to remain in the uk or something like that. If a license of a sponsor is withdrawn then a university can no longer admit foreign students and all current international students could either find another uni to continue or be deported.

I really think that you should reconsider your stand on this subject matter and treat it as just another one of those things. This is not really rocket science. Nigerians once outside the shore shows skills, intelligence and agility that is unparalled. That is why you have more nigerian technocrats in us and europe than any other African country. It's a common knowledge with nigerians that once you teach how to catch fish and provide them with fishing gear then you will never lack fish in your house. This is where our government fails and why US, UN and EUROPE are reaping the benefits that should come to nigeria.

As a muslim i would rather have a muslim rep come to mosque to a christian who does not understand my religion well and may end up unwittingly hurting my feelings. I could remember one incidence when Obasanjo generated furore among muslims when he was televised wearing shoes in a mosque. That action was seen as a desecration of a place of worship. Obasanjo could not have known that since he's used to entering church with his shoes on. Such awkwardness could have been avoided if he had simply sent his deputy. Muslims have aversion to any non-muslim entering their place of worship except when there is genuine need. Also, muslims are discouraged from entering churches, synogogues, temples and shrines if there are other alternatives.

What the guy did if true was totally despicable. That being said, Nigerians have perfected a way of whipping up religious sentiment just to achieve their selfish agenda. While its morally right for the consulate to send representation (which going by the post they did despite attempt by the author to rubbish that effort), you should not think it is your right to demand for it.
