Science/Technology / Re: Moment Warehouse Robot Collapsed After Working For 20 Hours Straight (Pics, Vid) by murtalaa(m): 6:53pm On Apr 26
Glimpsetv:
The robot collapsed after reportedly working for over 20 hours. This goes to show that robots have their moments too, just like humans. As we see in this video during a demonstration at a supply chain exhibition in Chicago, the robot was working well, and everything else was going smoothly until the robot was seen collapsing. Digit was designed by Agility Robotics to work in warehouses, lifting boxes and performing other tasks.

The moral of this story: everything reacts to stress. Proper maintenance and routine check-ups are necessary to keep anything working effectively.

I took my time to type a reasonable message to you and all of a sudden you are sending VN to me, do you know if I am in an appropriate place to listen to your frog voice and respond? It just seem selfish and unreasonable.

I normally let the person know about the inappropriateness, but if the person continues; I reply whenever I can.
Get out of here! you dont know anything. You are just forming serious when you are nothing but an ignorant fool. Voice note is a nice feature and has many applications. Even though my mother can read and write, she has difficulty in typing and her eyesight is not very great. Voice note comes very handy for her to communicate effectively. Dont always rush to condemn things with your nacissistic short sightedness.

However, why is there no similar news about the North and Middle Belt that have become overrun by terrorists??!

Over 200 kids are currently in the den of terrorists (who y'all re-christened Bandits) in Kaduna.
Even for terror war this lowlife will bring ethnic sentiment. He's like if you kill my terrorist, you'll have to kill a northern one or else, leave my terrorist alone.

This is by no means novel because TECNO and copy copy na 5&6. They probably bought the robot and slapped their logo on it to make their african customers feel good about their low budget tecno phones.
Car Talk / Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by murtalaa(m): 10:33pm On Feb 16
A contract involve offer acceptance and consideration. Once all the three are in place, a contract becomes valid and enforceable. In your case, there was offer, acceptance and consideration (payment). I am sorry for your situation here, but your neighbour has an upper hand here based on your submission and you have no basis to rescind the contract. Written document is not needed once these facts have been established as contract can be deemed to be valid by word of mouth and actions. Any lawyer would tell you that the car belongs to your neighour and you are duty bound to deliver it. Your neighbour resolve to violence however is needless because the car is his lawful property under the law.

Family / Re: My Dad's Driver First Child Looks Different From The Rest, I'm Worried by murtalaa(m): 12:12pm On Jan 24
EreluRoz:
My dad's driver son is right here in our house and he's the first child of his dad, he's totally different from the rest, he doesn't look like his dad neither does he look like his mum, there's no resemblance from both parents at all.

I stylishly dig up stories of how his mum was married because he's been driving my dad even before I was born and I was told she was already pregnant before the marriage ceremony was held and as at that time of their wedding, the woman lived in a different state, she just came and told him she was pregnant and that was how marriage happened .

I have watched this boy from head to toe so I can see at least one feature in resemblance but I didn't see anything, not even from the mom, he's just totally different. The other kids are ok, two share a striking resemblance with their dad while the last took after her mom but with some of the dad features, so are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Should I tell my dad my observation? What do you think?
Be sure he doesn't look like you before you start digging grin

Hello house, @duchesss and other visa gurus,
I have employed the services of the International Office to chase up my visa application with UKVI. Even though they've not be successful, I got an insight from the response they get on what could be delaying my visa decision, please see attached. I know I don't have problem with financial verification but if UKVI conducts verification on degree certificates, I have a real concern with my school responding to their query in time and could well be what is delaying my visa. The question is does UKVI actually verify degree certificates issued in Nigeria?

Really wish there was a more active way to reach out to these UKVI people and get results as quick. My Sist has been going through a lot mentally just waiting since 10th August. It’s really unfair considering the financial investment and all put into this process. Two paid calls and one escalation yet nothing but 3 NSF mails.I understand the applications they’ve received recently must be overwhelming but they’re making hell of funds, enough to match up in man power. Praying and wishing the best for everyone going through similar ordeal. Be encouraged and stay blessed.
its like something is really wrong with the 10th August applications.

Big congratulations and best of luck in your studies! I am immediately drawn to anyone with a biometric date of 10th August. Could you shed more light on how you responded to paid mail. You sounded as if you waited for a response from your paid mail before you went ahead and state your case. Why did not you just state your case upfront when you were sending the paid mail.

VISA ALERT!!!

Indeed a miracle happened. Glory be to God alone.

Application date - 15th July
Booked flight - 17th July
Canceled application - 3rd of August. I didn't know POF should be 28 days from the date of application not biometrics.
New application - 5th August
Biometrics - 10th August
Empty NSF - 14th August
Interview invitation - 25th August
Interview - 27th August. I was sent IHS link to top up shortly after the interview.
IHS payment - 29th August

NO WORD FROM UKVI

1st paid call - 4th September (awaiting decision)
2nd paid call - 7th September (still awaiting decision but it was escalated and I was advised to wait for 15 working days before calling them again)
Escalation - 7th September
Paid Mail( since I was advised not to call...lol) - 12th September (still awaiting decision as at 6pm)

THEN I DECIDED TO TAKE IT UP IN PRAYER. At this point I needed a miracle as my flight had already been booked for the 17th September.

I responded to the paid mail around 12AM clearly stating my case again.

UKVI contact centre responded - 13th September (decision has been made as at 11am, but still at DMC)

More prayer. That the passport be returned to Nigeria before Friday.

Transferred to VAC - 14th September
Received by VAC - 14th September
Pickup mail from TLS - 14th September, 12:29pm( Visa was approved and delivered to VAC in 24hrs)
Passport in my hand with vignette - 14th September, 2:16pm

ALL GLORY TO GOD! It's still like a dream to me, I indeed experienced a miracle.

I was strengthened with 2kings7:1-20. Where the people of Israel experienced an unusual overnight victory.

I pray for those still waiting that you experience an unusual speed in Jesus Name, Amen!

Thank you to everyone for the help. God bless you!

Trust me your circumstance is no where near mine. Four month and 3 days later.. Your application is just 4 weeks. If you search the thread for visa delay, you will see my timeline. Mind you it's depressing.
Four months wait for a student visa? Has you programme started? I thought one can only apply three months to resumption.

Hello everyone,
I called on Monday and I was informed a decision had been made , so I'd like to know how long it takes for the Embassy to send a decision letter or for it to move to VAC.
Thank you!

Hello, from the comments here, I think my application is going the direction of yours. I would love to see your timelines to draw strength from. Since 10th August when I had my biometric and 22nd when I got nsf mail, I have not heard from them apart from standard responses for my paid emails and calls that no decision has been made.

Poultry industry in Nigeria right now is a shambles. Huge, huge starting cost and very low return due to cost of feed and relatively low cost of eggs and low demand. Don't even let me start on broiler production; that one is death trap. All in all, Sunk nearly 10m and no break-even point in sight let alone making profit. I am even one of the luckiest as no outbreak has been recorded so far in my farm. GO TO CANADA!
