Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Did You Receive A Mail From DCSL/ICPC Recruitment? by Mustapha111888(m): 4:51pm On Aug 25, 2021
Hassan88:
Hello Family, please a friend needs your help with DCSL/ ICPC recruitment exercise. He received a message from the above body scheduling an online test but was referred to his mail for details about the test. According to him, this is a re- scheduling test. But he hasn't received any mail as regard the details of the test. Did anyone receive this message too and yet to receive the mail?

Please, he needs your take on this.
And any possible solution?

I did. I also missed the 1st test because the email was sent to spam and there was no SMS to notify many. I guess that's why ICPC is forced to re-schedule the test and also send SMS notification to candidates.

Although I'm still having difficulty accessing the test forum – I couldn't login. Your friend should check his spam messages, if he didn't receive the message from the actual inbox.

Politics / Re: 'Zulum Demolished 11 Mosques And 4 Churches' - MURIC by Mustapha111888(m): 9:54am On Aug 11, 2021
BabbanBura:

Guy leave that matter, mosques that were demolished because they were harbouring BH members, which of the churches demolished harboured any form of terrorism?

If zulum is to demolish mosques for reasons of violations, I can assure you that atleast 500 mosques inside the metropolitan area will be gone. This is because 90% of the mosques are built on streets with atleast one quarter to the half of rhe building clearly encroached to the streets. Secondly, mosques are being built all over the places in residential areas.

These Muric submission is once again baseless and a support for persecution of Christians and the Church.
Well... This is again another coordinated media bias, which by the way is part of the problem of Nigeria. I can't remember any of those 11 demolished mosques getting publicity as the recent church demolition! Whether they were demolished for link with BH or encroachment –either way command commendation which you will not see in the Nigerian media– They don't fit into their selective reporting narratives.

Good is good. Bad is bad. Irrespective of who is involved. Until we begin to tow that path as a nation, I'm afraid we're going no near to progress.

NwaAmaikpe:
: No doubt Nigeria as a nation need to renegotiate it union or otherwise for us to move forward. Many things ain't just right under the present arrangements. The earlier we begin this, the better

Point of correction Mr Osoba, do not try to rewrite history.

Fake news did not trigger the 1967 civil war because the pogroms were already ongoing in the North before the war.
The civil war was triggered by the Hausa-Fulani leaders' decision to jettison a perfect resolution to the volatility that was agreed upon at Aburi, Ghana.

Sadly, this breach of agreement was encouraged by the Yoruba elites like Awolowo, Mobolaji Johnson and Adebayo who never considered that the accord was to their favour as well.
Today Sanwo-Olu is fighting for a special state status for Lagos State. Would he have to do that if his kinsmen didn't sabotage the struggle for a federated nation of sovereign areas?

The civil war could have been prevented if only Yakubu Gowon kept to his side of the bargain.

Just like as in January 4th of 1967, the escalations going on right now can only be defused by regionalizing the nation and abolishing the 1999 Constitution to create one that won't encourage the impoverishment of him who should be rich to enrich him that should be poor.

It is not fair that it is okay for someone from Kebbi who scored 110 in JAMB gets admitted on merit for Medicine in a prestigious university while another from Anambra who scores 360 can't get into the same school for the same course.

It is also not fair that it is okay to see a Fulani man clutching daggers and machete while a Yoruba man who holds a pen-knife is arrested for being in possession of dangerous weapons.

Is it fair that the proceeds of Crude oil gotten from the Niger Delta region are spent in the North while the proceeds of Gold mining only belong to Zamfara?

Is it fair that Kano State should benefit from proceeds of alcohol sale through the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) despite sabotaging the profitability of Alcoholic Breweries and threatening their existence by destroying alcoholic drinks?

To think it is okay for Bagudu to get some of Sani Abacha's recovered loot but the Federal Government has the exclusive right of that of James Ibori and not even Delta State whose funds it is in the first instance.

If different laws apply for different people, then it is only fair to split the country so as not to make anyone feel disenfranchised.

This is common sense but my suggestions can't be taken seriously since my only forte is in masturbationn.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Ruling On Smoking by Mustapha111888(m): 6:31pm On Apr 20, 2018
Lukgaf:

Praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be on His Prophet SAWS.

Smoking is one of the things which has caused a lot of problems and harm these days and it has spread like wild fire. Before we discuss this topic in detail, we should know that Allaah the Almighty has divided things in the world into two types, good or permissible (al-tayyibaat, al-halaal) and evil or prohibited (al-khabaa'ith, al-haraam), and there is no third type. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning) in surat al-A'raaf (7:157):

"And He makes good things halaal for them and bad things haraam."

Considering this fact, smoking can either be permissible and good or prohibited and evil.

Thus, we present some of its characteristics and let the person asking the question see himself in which type lies smoking.

There is no disagreement among the physicians and sane people that smoking is harmful for health. It is one of the major causes of lung cancer and other diseases. It is also one of the major causes of death. Since, it is known that the Islamic law prohibits everything that is harmful for a human being. Allah said (interpretation of meaning):
"Do not kill yourself. Allah is Merciful unto you." (Surat al-Nisaa' 4:29)

In addition, His Prophet SAWS (peace be upon him) said:

"There is no harm or causing of harm (in Islaam)." (Arabic "laa darar wa laa diraar"wink

He SAWS (peace be upon him) also said:

"A person will not be able to move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about ... his body as to what he engaged it in.

Politics / Re: The Release Of 82 Chibok Girls: Our Position- PDP by Mustapha111888(m): 6:13am On May 08, 2017
chrisxxx:
Press Release

May 07, 2017.

The Release of 82 Chibok Girls: Our Position - PDP.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, CON, has described the recent release of 82 Chibok girls as a welcome development. The Capture and detention of these girls by the Boko Haram terrorists in the last three years had brought extreme pain and suffering not only to their families but to the people of this Country and men and women of goodwill all over the world. What is however of great concern is the price paid to secure the release of the girls. According to reports, the girls were released in exchange for the release of suspected Boko Haram terrorists. If that is the Case, we say it's a heavy price to pay and an unusual one at that.

While we welcome the release of the girls, we do not think that exchanging innocent girls for hardened criminals like the terrorists is the right approach for the following reasons:

1). The suspected terrorists by this release have escaped justice; and all the effort made by security agencies to bring them to book has come to nothing.

2). The release of the terrorists is a setback for the War on insurgency. Their release is tantamount to releasing them to resume their war against society. Many of them could find their ways back to the terrorists camps from where they could unleash terror against the Country. Others who are allowed to roam freely in society could become veritable recruiting agents and purveyors of suicide bombing and urban terrorism.

3). The Boko Haram terrorists are emboldened to continue with their tactics of kidnapping innocent people with the belief that they can always use it to blackmail the Government to release their members and to extract other concessions.

4). The piece meal release of the girls means the terrorists want to extract more concessions from the Government which in the end can only prolong the insurgency.

5). The release of the girls will increase the agony and high expectancy of the remaining girls still in custody of the terrorists and their families who will be wondering why they have not been so lucky. It therefore would have been better to ensure the release of all the girls at once.

6). The negotiations are in clear violation and indeed a direct assault on the generally accepted international principle never to negotiate with terrorists. This international principle is sound and logical because negotiation with the terrorists only fuels their urge to continue with their heinous crimes.

7). However, we recognize the concern of President Buhari to ensure the earliest release of the Chibok girls for domestic and international considerations. Equally, we are very concerned about the safe return of the girls to their families at the earliest possible time. But we disagree that negotiating with the terrorists is the right approach to achieving the objective.

cool. Meanwhile, we rejoice with the girls and their families and hope that their remaining colleagues will join them in freedom in no distant future.

Long live PDP! Long live Nigeria!!

Education / Re: Alright Vs All Right : What's The Difference? Let's Learn. by Mustapha111888(m): 4:02pm On Apr 01, 2017
Adeyeancah:
Hello Nairalanders cheesy Today we will be looking at the difference between Alright and All Right.

The use of alright (one word) and all right (two words) is one that confuses many writers, especially young writers who may not even be aware of the debate behind the two forms.

It is easy, however, to mistake the two for one another. After all, when you say them verbally, there’s no telling them a part. They sound identical in speech, but which option should be used in written communications? Or can they both be used?

Today, I want go over the differences between these words, talk about their histories, and give you a few tricks to remember which is which for the future. After reading this post, you shouldn’t ever mix up alright vs. all right again.

*Sips some Coffee* grin

When to use Alright.
"It's not all Right to use Alright."

Alright is the non-standard variant of the two-word all right . It is widely considered incorrect and is best to avoid in your writing, especially any type of formal writing. E.g

*The show we went to last night was alright. (Incorrect)
*I felt alright after I left the restaurant. (Incorrect)

When to Use All Right.
"All Right as two words is correct."

All Right, as two words, is a phrase that can function as both an adjective and an adverb. All right has a few different meanings: in proper or satisfactory condition; acceptable, allowable; in a satisfactory way; adequately . For example,

*The mechanic looked at the brakes to see if they were all right. (Adjective)
*If school is cancelled today, that is all right by me. (Adjective)
*I did all right, considering all the pressure. (Adverb)

Anytime you are looking to use all right , it should appear as two separate words. As I mentioned above, the single-word alright is generally considered an error and your instructor or editor will probably strike it out.

In order to avoid any unnecessary mistakes, it’s best to just remember that, in this case, two words is the answer.

Remember the Difference

Alright is not all right .

The above sentence is a good memory tool to remember which option to use in your writing.

Alright is considered as a spelling error and should be avoided. Thank You!

Mrs May will then go to Buckingham Palace to see the Queen and receive her invitation to form a government
Theresa May should then be in place as UK prime minister by Wednesday evening - it is not yet clear when the Cameron family will move out of No 10.
