Religion / Re: Righteousness Exalts A Nation: One Thing Nigeria Could Learn From A Cat (Photo) by Myer(m): 4:39pm On Apr 14 |
Judgement12:First, I like the fact that you know they're are probably more corruption than our leaders. However, they have created systems that put corruption in check. Also they follow the principles of wealth. So a higher percentage of them do not suffer from poverty unlike here. Our primary problem here as a nation is our faulty systems/institutions. Being a Christian does not take away poverty. Jesus Christ became poor so that we would be rich. And he said, we will always have the poor around. As a Christian, just like every thing else, it is our choice to be rich or poor. Warning: It is important to dietinguish the love of Money (Greed) from being wealthy. Someone who has love of money (greed) is pursuing money above any thing else, even above God. Which is the problem of most Nigerians. A true Christian is one who has accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior and submits to Gods will/plan for his life. Such as person pursues/seeks the kingdom of God and His righteousness primarily, and is contented to let God decide his other needs as God leads him through life. Matthew 6:33 Hope this helps. God bless you. |

The things people do under the guise of religion. Please choose to know God personally. There are some things the love of God and the grace of God empowers us to do. And there are some things the Fear of God won't let you do. To the the parties involved all I can say is that this too shall pass. And I pray it will lead them to genuine repentance and salvation. Grace multiplied to us all. |

Elsueno:It's a play. As long as she can act the role, that should be all that matters. How many times have whites acted black roles? How many times have schools staged this Shakespeare's classic? Or should African schools have to import white actors just to reenact it? What's bad is bad, no sugar-coating it. There's just so much hatred on the Internet and for some reason US just doesn't seem to know how to get racism behind them. It's really an eyesore to keep seeing this vicious cycle play out in a country that's trying to teach other countries how to run theirs. 3 Likes |

Bluntguy:My sentiments exactly. The pain of losing that relationship can't be compared to the pain of dealing with SS as a family. It's traumatic for the children and the parents. So she should see it as a deliverance for her and a learning experiemce towards her next relationship. And as Righteousness2 rightly pointed out, if they're both faithful and know that God has brought them together, I've heard similar testimonies, God can transform the genotype. But that's if He's the one that has united them. 1 Like |

VinnyBaba:If you're a Christian, we should not be chasing money sir. You simply seek Gods kingdom and he supplies our needs in various ways- favors, contracts, promotions, etc. The things others are chasing begin to chase you as you pursue God's kingdom. Chasing money is most times, if not all the root of all evil. Concerning the OP, our clime and culture has set an age limit for marriage and childbirth. Simply know what you want and know when you're ready- spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, financially, managerially etc. Please do not be pressured into marriage. |
Nairaland / General / Re: Money Or Wisdom, Which Is Better? by Myer(m): 9:07am On Mar 29 |
Wizzy13:It's simple, who is your role model? Are they wise or foolish? Are they rich or poor? As a believer, Jesus is our primary role model. He didn't have money, but he had (and was) the Wisdom of God. Money may be superior to the wisdom of men. But the Wisdom of God is superior to all. Without money Jesus was able to feed 5000, 7000, etc. With His Wisdom he lived a life and died the death that is still being celebrated till date. If I had to choose between the two, I have learnt to choose Wsidom. However it's a blessing to have both. They don't have to be mutually exclusve of each other. One just has to put God first always cos the love of money is the root of all evil. |

Goodvibes8:It's good that you felt bad about it. But it's better that you turn this to a challenge for yourself. 3rd class will always limit you in the employment/labour market. There are options if you see disappointments as blessings in disguise; 1. Take your time to get professional certifications and become an expert in your choice field. For accounting, I'll suggest ICAN, ACCA, etc. Learn the requisite softwares too. 2. If you still have some age on your side, you can go back to school and study a course you're passionate about. You'll be motivated to succeed in any course you're passionate about, Intentionally build relationships too. 3. You can become self employed- go into business if you have the funds, or learn a skill set (online or apprehenticeship). Become an expert in what you do and with time, clients will be recommending you. With God on your side, in a few years, so much can happen for the better. God bless you. 2 Likes |

Some divisions are caused by the enemy, Satan in order to cause disagreement and reduce the power of a syrong entity and even cause them instead of fighting him, to begin to fight themselves. Selah Some divisions are caused by God himself. So that an entity will multiply and spread, growing to become stronger entitleds. Selah On a family level, a man and woman come together to reproduce themselves, producing children and the purposes of God. Fge children initially are too weak to survive on their own. They are nurtured, protected and provided foraa they grow. Eventually, they have to find their own strengths and become independent. When they become mature, them themselves reproduce their own. And so the promise/blessing continues to multiply and replenish the earth. |
Religion / Re: Unity by Myer(m): 11:07pm On Mar 11 |
The Word for today is Unity. One of the greatest weapons of the enemy is division. Once he succeeds in planting the apple of discord between a family/group/team/church/nation he has succeeded in his mission. The strength of the family/group/team/church/nation is weakened or broken. However, when God steps into such situation, we begin to see one another as a family again, as a team again,as a church again even as a nation again. And as he heals us, our combined efforts and strengths achieve so much more. First let us start with the definitions. What does it mean to divide? What does it mean to unite? Divide: 1. To split or separate (something) into two or more parts. 2. To share (something) by dividing it. 3. To cause (a group of people) to disagree. 4. To separate into two or more parts. 5. (biology)) Of a cell, to reproduce by dividing. 6. To disunite in opinion or interest; to make discordant or hostile; to set at variance. ▼ show 7. To break friendship; to fall Unite: 1. To bring together as one. The new government will try to unite the various factions. I hope this song can unite people from all different cultures. 2. (reciprocal) To come together as one. If we want to win, we will need to unite. Unity: 1. Oneness; the state or fact of being one undivided entity. 2. Agreement; harmony. 3. A single undivided thing, seen as complete in itself. From these definitions, can we see that division has both negative and positive connotations? Positive: 1. To share what was meant for one with others. 2. In biology, for a cell to multiply/reproduce, it has to divide/split and then grow. Negative: To cause disagreement. |

Good day beautiful people. If you're seeing this, you're an overcomer! God has preserved you for His salvation and sanctification/cleansing/transformations. You are preserved for his justification and glorification. Rejoice! Be very happy to be alive. As long as you have life in you, there's hope! Look beyond what you see now. God's thoughts/plans for you according to His predestination are beyond what we can conceive or imagine. He can't wait to reveal them to us and bring them to pass in His good time! He simply wants to reunite us together in Him. Selah God is Good! All the Time! And All the Time! God is Good! Once we know that God is good all the time, we will find it possible to Trust Him with everything and in all circumstances Knowing that every thing is happening for our good. As long as we believe God and have put our Trust in Him to direct the affairs of our lives, it becomes easier to obey Him. We stop resisting His instructions/directions and begin to see His counsel as perfect. Even when it doesn't presently feel like it in the short term, in the long run when we see the result, we will be grateful! 1 Like |
TV/Movies / Re: Oscars 2024: Full List Of Winners by Myer(m): 10:19am On Mar 11 |
How times have changed. There was a time the Oscars was the rave of the news. Both our local celebrities and fans anticipated this award night with so much excitement. Today, how many people even knew the Oscars was last night? Even the comment section is a proof. Our sense of value of our home made movies has now grown so much that we actually appreciate our local entertainment celebrities and awards more. If this was AMVCA or NEA or NMA clearly it would be generating a lot of news, traffic and comments by now. It's a blessing to see. Also shows our Entertainment industry players have really upped their game. I believe GEJ played a major role in this. He deserves his accolades. There's still room for much improvement for us to be as excellent as Hollywood regarding Structure, Cinematography, Production, Creativity, Script, Directing and Acting. but clearly Nollywood is doing so well now. 11 Likes |
