I was expecting someone to say they saw an amputee's limb regrow.
I apologize for gracing this thread with my presence.
I would have loved to share testimonies with you but as Jackanda1 rightly said, it is better for you to actually go to good churches and you will see many signs/evidences being done and happening in people's lives.
But then only God calls who will be saved.

Freedom on top hunger grin

I have read stories of homeless people in Europe committing petty crimes just so they could benefit from the shelter and food the prison provides.

There's a point life will hit one and his so called freedom doesn't mean anything
The problem is what are you doing with the Freedom you have?
We all know what Hushpuppi was doing with his freedom. He abused his freedom and eventually it was taken from him.

The question is, what are you doing with yours?,
Do you realise that all Jesus Christ came to do is give us FREEDOM?

Perhaps that will give you a glimpse to how invaluable Freedom/Liberty is.
And primarily, it is a freedom from your mental bondage and faulty mindsets.

When your mind is renewed in Christ, the bible aptly puts it that "Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it come into the mind of any one, what God has in store for you."

Whever the Son sets Free is Free Indeed.
You're not depending on government or the best conditions to prosper. You are simply growing in godliness and the things that godliness attracts begin to happen to you. Selah.

Have not gone through water Baptism. When i first gave my life to christ, someone layed hands on me to recieve the holyghost. I only fell down on the floor, no speaking in tongues or other manifestation.

Did i recieve the holyghost then or not?
Please, it's a process. Both water and Spirit baptism are important.
You'll share the testimony by God's grace.

Also if you did not speak in tongues immediately, it's normal. Usually it's because of the hard-heart and perhaps you've spoken against it.
Keep praying for it and you will manifest it.
Speaking in tongues (Praying in spirit) is a blessing that cannot be overstated and fully described. It is best experienced.

Family / Re: How Do I Clear This Guilt Against My Dad? by Myer(m): 12:50pm On Jan 23
Mercylike:
Growing up with my family, I grew up not liking my dad but liking my mother so much that I can go to the extreme for her. It all started like this;

While we were growing, my dad having like 2 wives never really cared about us. Not even our steps siblings who are older than us. Their own even worse, they struggled and worked hard to get what the want with little or no help from our dad. Except for 1 or 2 out of 7 of them, the rest stopped at secondary school (public). My dad had no intention of being responsible for them.

Back to myself and my brother which are the only kids my mom gave my dad, he never still feels responsible.

Throughout my primary, secondary and tertiary years, I can't pinpoint one time that my dad bought sandal, cloth or anything for us. The only drug my dad has ever bought for us when we are seriously sick is paracetamol, even if we have serious sickness, he doesn't care. All he does is to call my mother to come take care of us (my mother doesn't stay fully with us because it won't even be convenient in such house with step mom but whenever she comes, she could spend a week).

Infact he was un-interested in sending us to school but thanks to my MOTHER. Though she didn't read well as she stopped as primary 5 or so but she said that she vow that she will train her children to school if they are ready to learn. Myself and my bro were ready to learn and my mom entered debts just to make sure we go to school. I could remember giving up when I gained admission, my dad already told us that he didn't send us to go to school ooo. I didn't know how my mother did it, she came home and gave me the acceptance fee and school fees with some other money. ( I cried before and after the incident, I don't know how this woman got this money but I'm sure she took loan). cry

Sometimes our step mom gets jealous thinking it was my dad that was doing those efforts for us but never did she know that all was my mom. I won't deny, dad contributed little but it was by force, begging his friends to plead to him to pay part of our school fee and all. But he is always boisterous of the fact that his sons are in school and all which angers me to see him boast with me especially.

Till now, I still don't feel responsible for my dad well-being. I have tried adjusting myself to loving him well but I can't. I just like him and respect him as a father but for my mom, I will do anything for her. I will go hungry for her, I will starve for her.

Nairalanders, it's being like 3 or 4 years I went to see my dad even though his place is not too far from me. He has been calling me several times that he wants to see me but I have always told him that I don't have time.

My problem is, my dad has never changed.. He is always concerned about himself, all he ask is money. He hardly calls to check up, except when he need money.
Since I started working, I have never defaulted in sending him money every month but I send my mother 3 times or even 4 times what I send my dad. After all, he has our step brothers and sisters he can always ask for money. So I don't really care about him.

One statement he usually makes since we were small "Go and meet your mother". He doesn't feel responsible for our needs, all na our mother.
Though he gives us daily feeding while we were growing and living under him but thanks to my mother that pays food vendors around to give us food whenever we are hungry because my dad doesn't give us enough.

Many stories but I can't say all...

Nairalanders, I still feel guilty as to why I don't like him. It feels like I have not forgiven him but to be honest, I have no issue with him.

How can I free myself from this guilt?
He reneged in his obligations as a father to you. So you are under little financial obligations to him. So stop feeling guilty.
However, that unforgiveness is a big issue. That, you have to deal with.
Find in your heart to know that he is simply a human being with his limitations.
And if you're a believer, all things worked out for your good.
Perhaps you won't have had the determination and drive to succeed that you compulsorily had to build.

PS: God bless your mom. She is your angel on earth. May she age gracefully and enjoy the good fruits of her labor on earth and in heaven in Jesus name.

My own fall was even worst cos i became atheist, turned against God and insulted Jesus, went into porn and mxstxbxtxxn, smoking and drinking even after being born again. Later got visited by demons.

I have stopped sinning. The trouble i have now is about my hardened heart. I'm struggling with geniune repentance and Godly sorrow.

If you care about me, please pray for me. Ask the holy spirit to show mercy and open my heart again.
The wiles/strategies of the enemy are the same, he has lost his creativity.
Where is your location?
We will continue to grow together by God's Grace.

You have done the most important part, repentance.
What is next is conversion/sanctification.
This is accomplished as you keep seeking Him through His Word and gathering of saints.
If you have to partake in the ongoing fasting and prayers, please do.

Flesh cannot accomplish what can only be accomplished by the Spirit.
Grace and Mercy multiplied to you in Jesus name.

The number of NL atheists turned Christians seemed to be rising on a regular, so this thread is specially devoted to them to share their testimonies and experiences to inspire others, including those atheists who may be contemplating leaving atheism for Christianity but need some encouragement.

I will be mentioning monikers of some I can remember now but would be updating them subsequently when more come up, so if you know any NL atheist that converted to Christianity, kindly mention their monikers so they could be added to the list.

Also you can share the post of their testimonies or links to them here just incase they are not available at the moment.

I will be sharing the ones I could lay my hands on later.

Former NL atheists turned Christians:

1. Myer/Pressplay411
2. Jakanda1
3. Michellekabod
4. NSNO
5. Drjones109
6. GXCHANGE

If God could do it for these, He could do it for you too.

There's nothing impossible with our God. In Jesus name!
Truly, "What God cannot do does not exist."
Thanks for the mention sir.
And the Grace that saved us is available towards all.
I don turn Evangelist/Missionary now sef. cheesy
Let's continue to pray/intercede for one another and for lost souls and I believe God will have mercy and show His goodness to as many He has predestined for His glory in Jesus name.

If people need special grace, or skills , or abilities to survive you, Tope, then you are of questionable character. You are toxic and difficult to cope with. Honestly, this reminds me of the American movie, 'Deliver Us From Eva'.

Your husband and siblings can't all be bad. Maybe you are meddlesome, maybe you are domineering and unreasonable at times. Just work on your attitude is all! Live and let live.

Domineering is the word. Guessing she's a control freak. The issue with that is though they actually mean well but unfortunately they want things to go their way only.

If she's on this platform, she needs to realise that everyone is created with a God-given grace. She should learn to identify hers and identify the grace on others.
Honor the grace of God in everyone and you will end up not having your way but having the best way and results through collaborative inputs.

There's power in "I" but much more powe in a collaborative Team.

janejjjjj5000:
I hired a househelp in October. She is 34 years old. She tells me she wants to get married and that she is not getting any younger.

My mum is around now on a visit and when she heard her saying it, my mum told me to send her away so she will not snatch my husband.

My mum said that people like that when they get too desperate can come up with all kinds of ideas.

I trust my husband but my mum's words have been playing in my head.

I would appreciate your advice.

Thank you.
Your mom just planted a seed of fear in you.
So many of our Nigerian mothers have seen and heard a lot of bad things happen to others. That any little sign is interpreted out of their fears.

You are in a better position to judge the situation.
Are you and your husband believers? Then no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

You simply need to ask some salient questions and answer honestly;
1. Is the househelp attractive?
2. Does your husband"eye"her?
3. Have you made your househelp irreplaceable that you're scared of losing her? This can make you overlook obvious signs.
4. Does your househelp working for you inhibit her chances of getting married? Does she have no time to herself?

Don't make decisions out of fear or desperation.
Pray about it and get your husbands counsel on it.
Your family decisions should be made together.

You think your personality are largely responsible for the kind of people you attract? Do you consider environment? Circumstances and other natural and external factors?

I don't go about gaslighting people, I am just on guard to avoid being manipulated.
Your personality is your spirit and yes, it attracts and repels other spirits.
It is ok to have knowledge of the manipulative ways of psychology and astrology etc to be immune to it however, it is usually difficult to know these things and not use them deviously unless you know a better way that works effectively. And that's what happened with me. I was also manipulative and subtly controlling until I knew the better way in Christ.

Is it right for a husband for demand for any money sent to his wife by her ex for the support of a child she got for him,ie the current husband's step child? Worthy to note that the child has been living with them for close to ten years the husband married the mother and has been paying the child school fees and feeding
This is dependent on many factors;

1. Is he and his wife born-again?
2. Is there no other means of help except the ex?
3. Is there a good matured relationship between the husband and the wife's ex?
4. It is a door you don't want to open because any thing else can burst through that door.

But if there's maturity with the 3 parties involved and boundaries properly set, it is okay in exceptional cases for the sake of the child involved.

Another one expect me to be seize her phone for not taking an instruction, she wants me to be reading her chats and have her password.

Such people only know negative energy, and if you don't correct them or leave them, they can easily influence a weak mind.
Talking about manipulative partner, have you learned how to make use of telepathy, reverse psychology, and clairvoyant power?
Exactly why you're attracting such girls. You yourself are manipulative.

If you help a man, he will appreciate it for a long time. If you forget, he will remind you. It is as if he owes you a debt. The guy that helped me to bring back Nairaland in 2014 could do no wrong in my eyes until last year. And even now, you won't catch me saying anything against him.

If you help a woman, she will appreciate it for a short time. 3 days. A week. A month. 3 months. Then it's as if you never helped her. It's history. Your help is like a subscription. Once it expires, you can be ghosted. Unless you renew it. And there are many other subscribers, so stop feeling as if yours was such a big deal. 😭

PS: Please o; I don't do redpill. Women are not ungrateful. They recieve help all the time, which they deserve. I'm just speaking from pain. 😭
True. However, as in most things, exceptions tend to invalidate generic statements.
Some men also have entitlement mentality and some ladies have grateful hearts.
It all balls down on the person, majority of Nigeria men are more grateful while majority of Nigerian ladies are more entitled.

Same as your campaign against tribal slurs recently.
That the majority of a tribe is known to behave a certain way does not mean they all do. There is usually exceptions.
