lalaboi:Welbeck didn't play anything in the first half, but it seems SAF told him something that tweaked him at halftime. i wouldn't go for him though, still too early for that i don't know what i'm doing at 34th, but when i look below me and see the likes of Ibime, Ritchboy and Vieira. . .i dey get plenty hope ![]() |
Redknapp will fight to keep Modric despite Spurs midfielder wanting Chelsea move Harry Redknapp still hopes to hang on to Luka Modric but finally admitted Chelsea were serious about trying to sign him. Asked whether it was time for Chelsea to 'put up or shut up', Redknapp, who admitted the growing uncertainty had left Modric in no state to face Manchester United in Monday's 3-0 defeat, said: 'To be fair, they have put up. The offer is no longer derisory. 'Luka is a great lad but is just a bit confused about where he is at the moment in his football career. 'I don't think he's played his last game for us. I want him to play for us against Manchester City on Sunday. He's a good player and we need him out there for us.' Redknapp insists he is the right man to get Modric focusing on his football again despite the Tottenham midfielder having his 'head turned'. Modric missed the loss after informing Redknapp he was not in the right frame of mind to play at Old Trafford. Redknapp would prefer to believe Modric has just got 'confused' faced with the opportunity to treble his wages. However, with chairman Daniel Levy refusing to yield from his initial stance that Modric would not be sold, Redknapp believes he can pick the player up once the August 31 deadline has passed. 'If anyone can pick him up, I can,' said Redknapp. 'I have a great relationship with him. 'People have to understand it is not an easy situation. If someone offered to treble anyone's wages, they would find it difficult, wherever they worked. That is the situation the boy is in. 'If someone offers £150,000 a week rather than £50,000, you are going to have your head turned. 'Some players can handle it. I know players who have caused havoc in the dressing room in order to get a move. I have seen it so many times. 'But he wouldn't cause anyone a problem. 'Let's be truthful. He wanted to go, but he has just got confused with it all.' Although Redknapp's own preference is for Modric to stay, he has spoken of the squad strengthening he could do if the player was sold. However, as he admits, the matter is not in his hands, with Levy controlling the situation. 'Arsenal have had this all summer with (Cesc) Fabregas and (Samir) Nasri. They are going to go,' said Redknapp. 'It is very hard to keep people when they want to go but the chairman will make the decision and he has made up his mind he will not sell. 'There is no point selling late in the window anyway when I can't get any replacements. That won't help anyone.' However, Redknapp does feel Levy needs to have a face-to-face meeting with Modric in order to try and quell the midfielder's simmering discontent, and offer a contract more in keeping with his status as one of the Premier League's best midfielders. 'The chairman has to sit down and have a chat with him,' he said. 'They probably fell out a little bit over that first meeting. 'If they can have a meeting and resolve the whole situation and Daniel tells him we need him, he is important and that we are ambitious and will bring one or two players in, you might find the boy will be OK.' Tottenham have already gone some way towards that as Redknapp expects a loan deal for Emmanuel Adebayor to join from Manchester City to be concluded, in addition to a move for Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra. Lol. . .see as everybody dey preach from the book of LAMENTATIONS!!!. . .BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Anyways, my week isn't doing so badly judging from what these other guys are facing. Except that i copped Aguero and he failed to score. . .but that lad has a bright futire, and will stay. Na David Silva i dey plan add to my team this week. Ashley Young has until tomorrow to really prove himself. . .and he is my captain, so he better do me good against Spurs. My keeper and defenders fuhk up this week, and i get point grabbers like Given and Taylor for bench. . .well, God dey sha. Tomorrow is gonna be better |
i also heard the juan mata eisshh . . .hmmm crossing my fingers |
this rivalry is becoming unhealthy, and could lead to both teams being dealt with by FIFA |
well, i already gave my thoughts on the matter. the league should not be reset. its not like i had major points to brag about. but look at it this way, what if the FPL hadn't given us the option of a reset, we for just sulk for as long as we like before we continue. . .all this ritchboi and Vieira shenanigans wouldn't have been necessary. the H2H can be reset, if it hasn't already been. and Eldee should stay. he's tried to be very democratic in the matter IMO FINALLY. . .its all for fun and games, maybe there's something to be won that is making some fifu feel like they've been cheated, but hey. . .like most others have said, there is still enough time to prove that you deserve to be called the best. |

. . I dey resist the temptation!
? I doubt if this dude is ready oooo, a season long loan would do him a lot of good. In the mean time at least one accomplished winger who can get past an opposing full-back would be welcome. Luka Modric yes, excellent addition right in the middle of the pack.
