discusant: Just remember the era of Buhari military regime, when everything in Nigeria including sugar, milk, tomatoes, were being rationed by soldiers to civilians, and before you got a tin of milk after queueing nearly whole day, soldiers must have used "bullala" to flog the hell out of you several times.
THOSE BUHARI DAYS, YOU DARED NOT CRITICIZE BUHARI. HOUSEHOLDS OUT OF FEAR OF THE REGIME WERE FORCED TO HANG NIGERIAN FLAG ON TOP OF THEIR HOUSES. It was a total dictatorial regime.
Buhari has not changed.
Buhari is dyed in dictatorship and intolerance, and he is very ignorant of the workings of a country's economy.. It is only a most silly fellow, a religionist or purely bigoted hater of Jonathan who can want Buhari as President of Nigeria in the 21st century. your comment showed you are not one of these 1980s & 1990s kids telling us about buhari regime. some of them because of hatred for GEJ are twisting history they don't know about. the guy cancelled free education because the north were not benefited instead of him to extend same to other region. |

Has he considered that if he comes in d Niger Delta militancy is sure to resurrect n our 2 million per day barrels of oil production is sure going to reduce drastically, Buhari has nothing to offer, he had his time years ago n what did he do? Keep your promises of stabilising oil price, creating thousands d of job in each state, paying every graduate for a year for nothing, stopping your terrosist supporters, go tell this to d marines they are telling us what they believed we want to hear and what they can do. smithsammy: I can see your life and that of your generations to come are enclaved under the shadow of cluelessness. The kind of administration APC planned to run is far above your cohesion. You mean it takes only a crude oil for Nigeria to survive, with our plethora of natural resources? Do the south africans have oil in their country? What is their GDP per individal? I can see you are one of the (many) people who believe Nigeria cannot survive without oil. I am sorry to say this: "you are a threat to the well being of this nation" and those resources you are talking about are automatic cash? without been developed ? how long do you think it takes to diversify from oil to other resources ? change is good if you handled it maturely with common sense and not instantaneous as we are going about it. asked the Egyptian about their change. |

Don't you think you need to do a little research on what Azazi said to help yourself out? He has this to tell Nigerians; "I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war start in your country you will regret what you are doing now. Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all Nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation. The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing each other and reject you from running to their countries so be careful. Our 11 years war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences. See Central Africa Republic, Bosnia. My heart bleeds when I read what you guys are saying because I know what this will lead to. You will be the losers, all of you whether Christian, Muslim, Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa stand as one and save your nation together because you have only one Nigeria that has the potential to lead Africa". PLEASE HELP SAVE NIGERIA AND SHARE THIS WITH AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE. Thanks. |

I didn't pay a single kobo in my primary sch. I was provided with free text books, exercise books, pencils, crayons, uniform, etc. 4. He and his deputy were Muslims yet no Christian complained if being marginalised. 5. When Maitatsine sect attacked our state the sect was crushed and Buhari was at the scene of the fight within 24hrs. 6. My father bought his brand new GL Peugeot car for less than #6,000. 7. Non of our neighbors dare sponsor terrorists to destabilize our country. 8. There was no single bomb blast. 9. Police do fear collecting bribes. which part of d country are you leaving then ? |

Politics › Re: Go And Die - Oshiomole Tells A Widow! by myola(m): 7:44am On Nov 29, 2013 |
pmc01: I know many will disagree with my stand, but I still make bold to state my view to the matter.
While the Governor be scolded for letting his emotions get the better of him, it is really provoking that someone comes up with the cheap excuse of 'being a poor widow' to do what is wrong. It is obvious the woman was fully aware of the wrong she was engaged in, hence the struggle to bail herself out with an emotional excuse of being a struggling widow.
The woman was not willing to accept responsibility for her actions, and that might have really gotten on the nerves of the Governor (he is human too). From comments read, some people have attested to the man's humility and all that, so it is only fair to give him the excuse that he was really provoked. Of course, it is obvious he meant the statement figuratively (even though it seems he went too far than expected of him).
I also wish to state here that we should put a hold on our emotions and judge this matter rationally. It is normal that anyone guilty of a crime would seek to exonerate himself/herself, but does that justify the crime? There are many poor widows all over (assuming she is truly a widow) that do not stay on the wrong side of the law and give room to this kind of embarrassing scenario, so what is the fuss about? Every offender could claim to be a widow, widower, orphan, e.t.c., should they all then be pitied and the society allowed to become chaotic?
Fact is the Governor was harsh, but the woman gave room for that. She was simply trying to blackmail the Governor into setting a bad precedence and the man had to take a firm and resolute decision, having in mind that the people he employed to enforce the law were watching to see whether he will compromise or not. She should just have admitted her fault and plead for mercy, rather than play the emotional card. The truth is everyone in that state will now be on their toes and be more inclined to obey the law strictly, to avoid been a 'scape-goat'. We know how Nigerians have to be 'forced' to do what's right.
It is sad that indiscipline has become a way of life for us here and so many supposedly enlightened ones here have decided to approach this matter with emotional sentiments, rather than an objective outlook.
What is wrong is wrong, widow or no widow!
N.B.: Whoever thinks I am here to defend my 'principal' is on his or her own. I am not responsible for your wrong perception of me. Thank you! Bros. Try & watch dat video clip attentively. May be u will change ur mind. |

rudedough: Seriously IDGAF. She shouldn't be trading on the pedestrian.
Sentiments aside, these road side traders are killing SMEs nationwide. It doesn't matter if you're poor, a widow or desperate, you must be mindful of the law.
A roadside seller pays little or no rental but an SME pays rental and utility. Their capital expenditure reflects on the prices of their goods.
That is, a road side seller can sell an orange for N20 Naira and make maximum profit while a shop owner will sell the same orange for N30 and make very minimal profit.
But who's going to buy the same orange for N30 from the shop when you can buy it cheaper at N20 from the roadside seller?
They're killing SMEs period.
Let's skip the emotions and look further. The Governor may be wrong with his choice of words but he's angry and everyone should frown at road side traders.
But why in the name of popsicle do Nigerians like anything illegal? Don't forget it is not everybody that can afford shops and startup capital. Moreover if u watch dat video clip u will discover dat that woman was not hawking but might be dropped @ a presumed bus stop. D question is who are we turning our city to megacity for. |
