With the level of passionate ethnic hatred exhibited on this thread, from supposedly Y2K+ generation of Nigerians,I only just wish there's a very easy way of splitting this country into as many fragments as possible so that the tribe that cannot stand seeing the other will be spared that trauma;however its not that easy to do.Whatever it'd take, that day should come sometime so everybody will be free of each other and y'all will have your prayers anwered

Politics › Re: Rivers Governor Introduces Fuel Subsidy, Cuts Price From N141 To N137 by Myself2(m): 11:47am On Jan 11, 2012
This is one aspect that has been overlooked by Nigerians, when the subsidy is removed, its obvious the three tiers of government will have their own share of the savings to use in providing the palliatives and better infrastructure.Has anyone asked their state governments how they intend to go about applying their own share of the savings??
Politics › Re: Will Jonathan Reverse The Fuel Price To =n= 65/litre? by Myself2(m): 11:43am On Jan 11, 2012
"Occupy nigeria is not just a movement targeted at jonathan, but the entire corrupt system of governance".

No,occupy Nigeria is a follow follow concept that only exists in the cyber and BB world. It's wishy-washy and has no real relevance and impact in Nigeria
Politics › Re: Will Jonathan Reverse The Fuel Price To =n= 65/litre? by Myself2(m): 8:02am On Jan 11, 2012
He should in the meantime(he should bring it down to say N90 or so) .Subsidy removal is inevitable and it would be foolish for anyone to hope that it stays for the rest for the rest of the year.
However,it should be suspended for as long short as it it will require to adequately sensitise the populace on the negatives of the subsidy regime(the abuse of it by oil marketers who milk hundreds of millions of naira from the regime, for products not delivered and the attendant toll on the federal reserves).(i)Government should prosecute everyone that had anything to do with the refineries terrible state, and all those involved in the abuse of the subsidy regime(even if just to make a show of the whole thing,Nigerians love shows and the attendant scandal and negative image will shut the thieves up unlike now that they're are free to raom the streets and finance the so-called anti-subsidy removal protest.
They should start to build more refineries and produce locally, power supply should be improved remarkably, the rail system must work well, they must reduce the cost of governance drastically at all levels(I watched with disdain as those clowns in the lower house sat and said the things most ignorant Nigerians needed to hear;to wit;FG should revert to N65  per litre, without saying anything they will do as personal sacrifice, even if it will be scratchingly palliative in the long run,for instance I'm aware each senator collects N500 million per annum for constituency project,a very unconstitutional provision and the reps collect a little less than that. Now multiply 500 million by 108 and say 400 million by 774 and you will know the level of looting we're talking of.)Also the lawmwkers should cease to be involved in any form of contract awards and other channels of looting should be plugged. At the executive level, all those long list of indolent aides should be whittled down;from the president to the ministers,no need for those 50-vehicle entourage for president,VP,senate president and speaker;I could go on and on,but the government and lawmakers should do more in self sacrifice and be more transparent whilst other measures are taken, then the subsidy can be removed.
The only snag here is that we have no time as subsidy ewas not provided for in the 2012 budget,so just like the nursery rhyme; what we need to do,we should do quick

Awareness. .
Awareness shocked shocked huh huh
Rewind back to the Aba women riot, was there no awareness then?,what of the June 12 riots/protests and the numerous anti-fuel price hike protests?you talk as if awareness is one word that was just discovered yesterday due to your occupy what-not

Give me just one thing the loafers have achieved by "occupying"wall street.

Also Chino11 raised a very salient point,do you mind responding pari passu the Nigerian situation
Politics › Re: Occupy Nigeria Protests: Locations And Dates by Myself2(m): 10:49am On Jan 09, 2012
ogugua88:
Like I said earlier, read about the Occupy movement. It's more than Wall Street execs.
And like I asked earlier;what has "occupy Wall street" achieved ever since it started?
They dont even get prime time on national TV anymore, the GOPs debate and more important issues now rightly rule the airwaves
Politics › Re: Occupy Nigeria Protests: Locations And Dates by Myself2(m): 10:07pm On Jan 08, 2012
ogugua88:
So you didn't know that the Occupy movement started on Wall Street but is now worldwide? What of Occupy London? Occupy Frankfurt? Occupy Tokyo? Some organizers and myself were sent messages of good luck and strength from Occupy Perth (Australia) last Thursday or so.

Look up what the Occupy movement stands for and then come back and say there shouldn't be an Occupy Nigeria movement.
That's the point, occupy wall street had a clear cut target:the wall street execs. However please remind me again what the result of the "occupation"was
Also tell me what your target/aim is for your so-called occupy Nigeria
