Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How To Do Employee Verification by Myself2(m): 9:10am On Jun 07, 2012
Simples
Get a trusted policeman to put calls through to those places he listed as places of previous work experience and the listed references.Arrange for the police officer and your aide to go do physical verification of the above.

Of course, you will spend some money. The only other option is just go ahead and hire the applicant and hope for the best
Politics › Re: Lagos Lawmakers Demand Resignation Of Aviation Minister by Myself2(m):
Why should she resign, that woman is the best aviation minister we've had in over 8 years. She has initiated so many administrative and infrastructural reforms in airports across the country, fly round and see the re-modelling going on at the airports, she has tried to sanitise the system and plug the loopholes that most domestic and foreign airlines are using to defraud FAAN/FGN.
Is it not your lawmakers that usually go and start mounting pressure on her to take it easy with the airlines that they're just barely surviving.
That said, their is an agency called NCAA that has pilot/ex pilots, engrs etc that usually inspect the log books of these airlines, issue operational guidelines, ground aircraft that they're not satisfied with their status. They are in the airport,I wont even ask the DG NCAA to resign(as they have done fairly well, leading to Nigeria getting the category A certification last year plud Dr Demuren even won some global award last year for a job well done),rather I'll suggest they recruit more hands to be able to do more on-the-ground inspection of the aircraft regularly, rather than swallowing whatever the airline's pilots and engineers may have cooked up in theri log books.Secondly NCAA should be made to switch from their current civil service approach to duties and be more firm and strict in applying the rule books to ensure all airline operators adhere to the highest standards of safety

BTW I'm sure Tinubu's First nation airways must have tried to cut corners somewhere and dhe stopped them, hence he is using his ACN instrument to

Silva79: Nigerians,Our own is coming too INSHA ALLAH we wuld b rejoicing lyk d egyptians.
How many Egyptians are rejoicing?Mubarak is the best president those Egyptians have had so far.He had no option but to rule with an iron fist as he knows his countrymen, being fellow arabs are a problematic lot, especially as mambers of their military gruesomely assasinated Mubaraks boss,Sawdat right before his own eyes, infact he was lucky to escape then with his life.

I say nobody should rejoice yet, let's see the outcome of the run-off election, woe betide them, and especially the non-muslims if those sharia-mouthing terrorists in the muslim brotherhood win.

Politics › Re: Wole Soyinka Opposes UNILAG/MAU Renaming by Myself2(m): 8:23am On May 31, 2012
I strongly disagree with Wole Soyinka on this.

The furore regarding the renaming of Unilag is elitist posturing of the worst kind, dressed up in the garb of democratic protestation. This has nothing to do with anger that the council of the university was not consulted. The university and its senate and governing council do not fund the school. The school is funded by the federal government from the federal purse representing millions of hardworking Nigerians most of whose kids will never enjoy the benfit of a university education let alone a prestigious one like Unilag.

The storm in a tea cup is another example of middle class Nigerians, particularly yoruba ones (the most snobbish and self regarding version and yes i am a Yoruba) refusing to be associated with a person largely revered by the poorer classes. The same happened when Uiversity of Ife was renamed in 1987 in honour of Obafemi Awolowo, when a few hundred students largely of middle class origin demonstrated their objection, while the poor people in the town, carpentars, shoe makers, tailors and others who benefited from awo's reforms celebrated.

This is all about a few priviledged and educated yoruba people wanting to retain what they see as an eleitis label placing them apart from the majority of the population whom they secretly despise. If the school had been named after Barack Obama would they be protesting, even if it was done without consultation - Of course they wouldn't - they'll probably be fantasising about getting an easy visa ride in the American embassy.

Wole Soyinka is a radical and progressive Nigerian but his elitism is a well known flaw which is why he has never inspite of his undoubted courage been able to buod a mass following for his ideas.

Unilag is funded by the majority of the people of this country, not the students or their lecturers. Most ordiany Nigerians respect the sacrifices people like abiola made - they, not the spolit middle class kids kicking up a fuss in Unilag are the majority. The noisy minority in Unilag should be ignored. they will son go back to their Ipads

If they don't like the name when they receive their degrees let them rip them up. They don't own the school, the people do -i've not seen any demonstrations in mushin, shomolu, bere or sabongari against it.

If wole is not happy let him write a poem about his fury. He is a great man, but on this occasion he is wrong

manikki: I can say with all boldness that Uduaghan is the worst governor, not in Nigeria but the world. Nothing works in Delta State! Bad roads, schools, hospitals etc. My friend told me that in the Gen. hospital, 2 or more patients share a bed. Most nights, they use candles, but u can bring ur generator from home if u want. A friend who served in d state told me that most students dont pay attention, that is if they come to school at all- "how many book Ibori read? " is what they usually ask. Worse still is the way lawlessness thrives in my state. If u know how they go about DEVWE, u`ll appreciate d Omo- onile's in Lagos State. U`ll hate urself if u try to erect a building in Delta, esp in Effurun area. U`ll pay Devwe to diff factions, some will even tell u that u`re supposed to buy building materials from them. Such lawlessness! Of all the thieving, irresponsible and inept governors in Nigeria, UDUAGHAN is on top, the others are jogging behind him!
Now can you beat that for backwardness heartlessness?? shocked shocked

Politics › Worst Governor And Slowest Developing States In Nigeria by Myself2(op):
Having visited the thread with the exact opposite caption of this,I decided to create this thread to name those terrible governors in Nigeria that have not bettered the lot of their people but rather have become huge conduit pipes to drain their state's treasuries and have also become a disgrace to democracy

My nominee for that position would have to be the governor of my state,Delta, who spends a princely sum of N75 million naira monthly on diesel to fuel six generators that work less than 12 hours daily, the man that had two initial estimates for an airport;the first estimate was N8 billion, before a final initial estimate of N14 billion naira was approved. At the last count(for those who have not lost count),over N40 billion shocked shocked shocked has been spent on the Asaba airport and the airport is not yet completed.Uduaghan plans to use N7.4 billion to clear some ant hills around the airport so that some mischievous soldier ants will not crawl unto the runway and eat up the tyres of the airplanes.Uduaghan happens to be the only governor who approved and approval limit of N1 million for his commisioners;meaning any project more than that amount,he is the only one that can approve.Under Uduaghan, every and anybody that can go on strike to protest his incompetence has done so,even the members of the state house of assembly went on strike.
Uduaghan is known to have a preference for assasins, rogues, touts and criminals in his choice of commissioners and board members. The list goes on and on

Without a doubt,the numero uno worstest worst governor in Nigeria is;

Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan

all of una were mention AKWA ibom for dier una dey draz for dier, shey don go dere b4 abi na 4 paper u dey read am

Sa-le,
Your comment is relevant.Iam very sure a lot of posters have not been to Akwa Ibom state. All they do is to listen to the garulous governor when he appears on Television to deceive people.Development cannot take place in the atmosphere of insecurity which we know Akpabio created in Akwa Ibom.As i am writing, the Akwa ibomites are counting their losses in terms of those who were killed for daring to contest election in the state. This explains why the governor and his boys burnt the vehicles just to blame it on the person who had the political muscle to beat him during election.Remember the governor was the first person to level the charge of treason on his opponent. The fact remains that the former Governor Attah planned and changed the state long time ago but the state only needed a noise maker to project what Attah did and the parrot called Akpabio arrived[/s].
