dizzynet: Hi Guys
I am sharing this to encourage someone.
About 15 months ago, I took the brave decision to travel abroad for better opportunities. Brave because I had a decent job as per naija standards but I was pretty stagnant and making no genuine progress in my career. I considered several countries but eventually settled for Ireland as it was less competitive than other countries and they offered graduates a genuine chance to get a job after graduation. I barely put enough money together for visa application, flights and 50% of the tuition. I came to study a Masters in Computing(Data Analytics) at DIT, I did not know much about the school but the deciding factor in picking it was that they allowed a 50% down payment of tuition for registration.
It was a very intense period while I studied, I was lucky to be get a part time job almost immediately after I arrived and it was extremely difficult juggling this with full time study especially as the masters degree was extremely packed. I did not need any extra motivation to dedicate my whole being to studying, this often meant I had to hang around all night in Starbucks, completing assignments and studying.
Now to the testimony, about 2 months ago I graduated and I actually had a job offer as an Analytics Consultant in a top Consulting Firm here in Dublin before I graduated. Now this is nothing but God's grace as I know for a fact it is not easy. On accepting the Job offer, the company wasted no time in preparing a critical skills work permit application(equivalent of green card) on my behalf which got approved about two weeks ago.
I used nairaland a lot when researching study destinations and putting together my visa papers so feel free to reach out to me if you require any information. . Waoh.. Congratulations .. I'm super happy for you. |

mychellin: Thanks MzDeeb as usual.
please my agent insists i can use the Jan offer for Sept admission since I actually selected Sept in my application. Am confused and need to urgent decision. Can use help clarify this claim as well. I count on your response.
Thanks. I really do not understand what you're trying to say. Which application did you select sept? If you were giving admission for January intake and you can't make it. You have two options ; 1. Send a mail to the school to help you defer the January admission till September. 2. Wait till September admission is open and re-apply. Please do let me know if my explanation is in line with your question. Thanks |

Getting a job after your masters depends on your skills and what you have to offer to the organisation. But there are several jobs available. You are entitled to get 2yrs post graduate visa as long as you apply for it few months before you graduate i think. mychellin: Thanks for the response. Pls, what's your view about getting better job after schooling and opportunity of settling down in Dublin after 2 yrs post graduate visa. Pls share your knowledge base on experience there.
A student in Dublin or someone with experience should help with answers to this question. Any opportunity of settling down after 2 years post graduate visa. |

mychellin: My people....I urgently need help with clarifications below.
I got an offer to DBS for Jan 2019 intake. My target is against 2019 Sept due to personal plan. Now my questions.
1. Is it possible to use same jan offer for Sept admision as suggested by my agent. 2. I heard that is possible to invite my family to join me in Dublin close to the end of the programme as a family man. 3. Can I get a job that will earn me payment balance after the 6K Euro as student.
An experience student advise is urgently needed for a quick decision. 1. No you can't.. Apply when you are ready.. I'm sure they will give you another admission. Its no big deal 2.. I have no idea 3. Yea, you can get job easily here but mostly care jobs. Not office jobs. Your wages will be enough to take of feeding and transportation. I'm not sure about school fees |

yemiosinbajo: Are you saying that people make jest of those with disabilities in Nigeria? Maybe it depends on the nature of the disability; for example, reaction to a stammerer is different from reaction to a crippled. However, in general, people in Nigeria are more sympathetic towards the disabled than people in the West. In the West, everyone, irrespective of disability is expected to be independent, but in Nigeria, the reverse is the case. Therefore, people show more sympathy and empathy towards the disabled in Nigeria than in the West. When you say they cannot mind their business when they come across the disabled in Nigeria, it is just their sympathetic nature. Nah. I disagree. Pple make jest of pple with physical challenge or disabilities in Nigeria. It has now become the order of the day, i guess that's why you don't notice it. Just so you know, jesting might not necessarily being verbal communication. Non verbal communication is the most common. Eg you see someone with a skin disease, or a weird shape of head.. You pass by and everyone is either staring at you or laughing. Its embarrassing to them. You switch on your tv and some comedians are there joking about your predicaments. But here, such is not the case. Though it might exist but it isn't common |

yemiosinbajo: @emboldened really? Why are you unable to stop by at a friend's place? Lol.. because everything here is done orderly. You have to put a call across to someone that you are coming. Unlike in Nigeria where you can just stop over at a friend's place just because you passed their street or something. |

QuestionMark910: Come oh. Are you a Nigerian sef? Like say you no be Naija person. You sound like a non Nigerian He is actually saying the truth. Life is much more easier in abroad. Constant light, good roads, good homes, peaceful lifestyle, extremely cheap foods n clothes. Pple mind their business a lot too. In Nigeria pple with physical challenges can't walk freely cos we tend not to mind our business, pple make jest of them, but here you see the disables everywhere without anyone making jest of them or being cruel to them. To say the truth, living abroad is better. Except person wey wan suffer all through their lives |

cc icasng Based on my little understanding. I don't think it should affect it. Provided you have all the required documents and sufficient funds. Check the reason for the previous refusals and take note so you can make adjustments |

kayteajay111: Good day to all professionals. Pls, what's the best method to send applicant's CV to the organizations/employers. Is it by forwarding it through checking of files OR by copying the CV and pasting it on "compose email" before sending it? Because a lot of gurus have come here arguing on professional ways of sending CV to employers. And I learnt that the sending of CV professionally entices employers. Pls, anybody can shed light on it. Please always do send your CV as an attachment.. Don't forget to name you cv file as your real name. Eg if your name is Lagbaja Fashola. The name of the CV should be Lagbaja Fashola Resume. This looks professional as against my CV. |

Speak politely to the seller and tell the person u just want original and ain't ready for troubles. I'm sure no sane seller will after dis plea sell fake to u. Mind you, original ain't cheap. 16gig should be about 3k or so, while 32gig shouldn't be more dan 6-10k, negotiate well. . Okay.. Thanks. I will try that. God bless you |

If you know you didn't understand the question you should have asked for clarification? Or better still ignore.
