Wizkid reportedly gave 100k each to many physically challenged people he met there.

Futo Student Wrongly Accused Of Stealing, Brutalized By The School’s Military Outfit, Xboys.....

A student of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, has been brutalized by the school’s military outfit, Xboys.

According to reports, some female students residing in New Orleans Lodge, Eziobodo, had called on the Xboys that their phones were stolen overnight.

It was gathered that their description of the thief matched that of a male student, who was subsequently apprehended and beaten up. It was later discovered that he was innocent.

Ezeemo signs social contract with Anambra people

The Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA witnessed a mammoth crowd as they held officially flagged off their campaign over the weekend at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, during which the National Working Committee of the party led by her National Chairman, Chief Peter Ameh performed the ceremonial handing over of the party’s flag to Mr Godwin Chukwunenye Ezeemo and his deputy, 38 year old Hon. Stanley Nkwokah and Ezeemo stunned everyone by signing a social contract with the people.
Handing over the flag, Chief Ameh described Ezeemo as “a man of integrity and an embodiment of honesty and humility who has distinguished himself as an astute business man and administrator and therefore the ideal candidate for governorship in a great state like Anambra”.
Appreciating the “emotions, enthusiasm and excitement”expressed by the teeming crowd of supporters, Ezeemo opined that the electorates’ sacrificing their time to be part of the flag off was evidence that they are resolved to see a better Anambra State.
He shared his disgust at the “reckless abandon with which previous governments and event he present have been misusing their power to lord it over the people and siphon public funds” and promised that his emergence is a coup de grace for irresponsible governance.
In his words, “I know that our people have been lied to for so long and that is why you find it difficult convincing some people who have seen my antecedents but are still doubting the genuineness of my purpose. This is why I have chosen to sign a social contract with you women, youths, traders, commuter drivers and all other groups that make up Anambra people today so that you can hold me accountable if I default from accomplishing any of my promises within the timeline I have slated to actualise them if I emerge your governor.”
He then read out the social contracts which consist of definite actions he would take to address infrastructural, policy and social justice issues that militate against the smooth and optimum functioning of the various groups of people in the state, signed them and asked for a representative of the various demographics to sign on their column.
Ezeemo also introduced his running mate, 39 year old Stanley Nkwokah who he referred to as “one who has distinguished himself as an environmentalist and a consultant and therefore deserves a chance in governance.”
He said that his administration is poised to give everyone equal chance to exercise his potentials regardless of his age or background.
On his part, Ezeemo’s running mate, Stanley Nkwokah charged the youths to ensure they do not miss “the wonderful opportunity given to them who have been long forgotten and relegated to the background in the scheme of things politically.”
He said that Ezeemo has come with sincerity to lay a foundation for facilitated development in Anambra State and should be accorded every support that will enable him emerge as governor as it is “to the best interest of every demographic in the state.”
Speaking with the press, Barrister Keinde Ado, PPA National Secretary said that he is confident Anambra electorates will vote in Godwin Ezeemo this time around as the party has taken time since the last election to prove to them that Ezeemo is one man whose heart is with Anambra people and indeed the black man at large.
“This was what informed his transferring the headquarters of his booming business empire to his hometown. Where a man’s heart is, that is where he wants to put his treasure and where his treasure is, that is where his heart will be.”
He attributed the loss in the last election to not having enough time to introduce the candidate to Anambra electorates but that the party has had enough time to do between then and now.
“What you see today is a pre-victory celebration. All the people you see here are not rented crowd but converted devotees who have bought into this project and who are witnessing to others about the lofty project God intends to carry out through the instrumentality of Godwin Ezeemo,” Barrister Ado said.
There were also goodwill messages from the likes of a former presidential candidate under APGA, Mr George Okoye; Hon. Edwin Okonkwo, Deputy National Chairman (South) and victory songs as the local government branches of PPA as well as other pressure groups from within and outside the state marched past Mr Godwin Ezeemo assuring him of their unalloyed support and resolve to see him elected the next governor of Anambra state.

A woman identified as Grace Nkanueko, who was allegedly being used by a Catholic priest who slept with her under his roof in Lagos has given birth.
According to Hammid Bakare, a broadcast journalist, the woman was allegedly raped by her step brother who impregnated her before she was brought to Lagos by the Catholic priest. The priest allegedly continued to sleep with the lady despite her condition and asked her to give out her child for a price after her delivery.

“A case was brought to my attention. there is this lady (aged BTW 19 and 21) that was a patient, from stories told, her step brother impregnated her (she was raped) and she was sent out of the village. A catholic evangelist brought her to Lagos and was having his way with her while she was still pregnant under his roof. She delivered through cs on Tuesday last week.

The Church priest and some other people are trying to convince this young lady to give out her child for a price. She is really shattered because of all she has gone through. I believe that she should be assisted and not been deceived
to give out her child.

Kenya’s Supreme Court on Friday declared President Uhuru Kenyatta’s election win invalid due to irregularities committed by the election board and ordered a new vote in 60 days.

The decision to cancel the vote result, the first of its kind in Kenya’s history, sets up a new race for the presidency between Kenyatta and veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Kenya has a history of disputed elections. A row over the 2007 poll, which Odinga challenged after being declared loser, was followed by weeks of ethnic bloodshed in which more than 1,200 were killed.

“The declaration (of Kenyatta’s win) is invalid, null and void,” said Judge David Maranga, announcing the verdict backed by four out of the six judges.

The first respondent (the election board) failed neglected or refused to conduct the presidential election in a manner consistent with the dictates of the constitution.”

Many voters in the west of Kenya, Odinga’s stronghold, and along the coast, where there is also traditionally large support for the opposition, feel neglected by the central government and shut out of power.

Odinga has contested the last three elections and lost each time. Each time, he has claimed the votes were marred by rigging. In 2013, the Supreme Court dismissed his petition.

This time, his team focused on proving that the process for tallying and transmitting results was flawed, rather than proving how much of the vote was rigged.

A family in Robstown, just west of Corpus Christi, lost their homes to a fire just as Harvey was hitting the area. The Rojas family had evacuated their three houses on property they own. They returned to a distressing sight: all three houses destroyed by fire.

But they also found something in the ashes that they say gave them hope — an intact statue of the Virgin Mary.

“Some may blame God and some may blame the hurricane but the only thing standing were holy things,” Natali Rojas told CNN affiliate KRIS. “As you can see this statue is the only thing that survived. I dug in there for things and all I found is a Virgin Mary Statue.”

35 Nigerian Child Rapists All From Kano State Who Raped Girls From The Ages Of 5-13years

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Nuruddeen Abubakar, for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter.

Spokesperson for the Command DSP Magaji Musa Majia, disclosed this on Tuesday, August 15th, while parading Abubakar alongside other suspects. Read his statement below.

“Offences in relation to child abuse are on the increase despite multiple efforts by the Police Command, sister security Agencies, NGOs and relevant Stakeholders

Child Rapists

It is alarming to see the persistent cases of rape, incest and unnatural offences clamoring up to an unprecedented level. From the 1st of August to date, 34 cases were recorded, which in essence is translating to an alarming situation if efforts are not multiplied against it.

In another related matter, one (Pastor) Samuel John of No. 26 Whether-head, Sabongari Kano was arrested for raping 13yrs old twin sisters and their 11yrs younger one.

Also, one Dahiru Haruna and Hamza Lawan all of Sheka Qtrs Kano conspired and act in an unnatural manner against their 9yrs old male victim. All the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime.

From the 34 cases recorded, 35 suspects were arrested while 36 victims aged between 5-13yrs are involved. Presently, about 15 pending cases of sexual assault will be transferred to SCIID for discreet investigation from various divisions.

The Command finally wishes to appeal to all and sundry to put hands together and fight rape, incest, unlawful offence and other heinous crimes evolving in the society.

In the light of this ugly development, it is necessary for us to call on the general public especially parents, guardians, teachers and other stakeholders to take firm stand on the general activities of their wards who always turn out to be victims of such dastardly acts.

The Onitsha incidence has nothing to do with church attack as confirmed by the Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, Princess Nkiru Nwode.

She said the attack was on policemen who were on foot patrol along Oguta Road Onitsha.

According to her, the attackers were hoodlums who disquised themselves as masquerades to dispossess innocent citizens of their belongings and in the process killed a police man and injured some others.

Recall that in an effort to ensure safer society, the government of Anambra State recently launched Motorbike Brigade in addition to several other Security Units that maintain regular patrol of our communities.

Meanwhile, Yesterday reports said, The Police have apprehended some suspects allegedly involved in the church massacre of 12 people at the St. Philips Catholic Church in Ozubulu area of Anambra State.

The state governor, Willie Obiano, who visited the scene of the attack had promised that investigations would commence immediately to bring the perpetrators to book.

Giving an account of the incident on Sunday, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Garba Umar, told Channels Television that the gunmen went into the church during an early morning mass and shot sporadically at worshippers.

He further explained that the attack was not unconnected to what he described as gang violence between some indigenes of the state.

“Information further revealed that this is not unconnected to a kind of a ‘gang war’ between indigenes of the state – the children of the same village – who are engaged in a warfare outside Nigeria, precisely in South Africa”.

IPOB hits Ezeemo again; desecrates Biafran veteran’s burial

Elders of Ihiala community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State are still in shock over the actions of a band of youths suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, numbering in their hundreds, who recently stormed the burial ceremony venue of Ihiala-born Late Pa Francis Oguanobi, disrupted the ceremony, sending Godwin Ezeemo, whose father-in-law the late 90 year old was, alongside his family and entourage, scampering for safety.

This brought the event to an abrupt end and the fleeing ones had to leave behind some personal belongings as they escaped the rowdy crowd, their vehicles being dangerously hit with hard objects as they made away.
IPOB Hits Ezeemo Again
Naaija reports that despite that Late Pa Francis Oguanobi was one of the prominent Biafrans that sourced for relief materials for Biafrans during the Nigerian Civil War, the uncouth young men and women defied every sense of respect for the dead, albeit a dead Biafran Hero, and swarmed upon the venue of the one day burial ceremony, snatched the microphone from the musician entertaining the large crowd of Ezeemo’s friends, family and well-wishers slapping the MC to submission when he attempted resistance.

The group were chanting “No election in Anambra State,” as they flooded the arena with their paraphernalia and yelling at Ezeemo’s family, friends and well wishers to go home.

IPOB Hits Ezeemo Again
Mrs Nneka Ezeemo, the last daughter of the deceased and wife of Godwin Ezeemo, bitterly narrated to Naaija.com how she had a similar experience in a community in Ogbaru Local Government in the hands of a similar group who claim they are IPOB members when she went with her husband and daughter to worship with a pentecostal church.

“Is my husband (Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo) now a target for these people that he can no longer hold decent public events without being interrupted rudely by these ones?” She asked rhetorically.

Mr Godwin Ezeemo, on his part, appreciated God for saving him and his family from sustaining any physical injury while decrying the state of the system in Anambra State, the Southeast and Nigeria at large that the youths are so disenchanted and are advocating for utter civil disobedience.

“I wish these youths will understand that the primary need of Igbo land is to enthrone good leadership.

“I wish they will understand that I am here to make things right for them and restore their belief in themselves and in the system.

“I am deeply pained at the rate our youths are being abused as they seek for greener pastures.

“Many of them die in the middle of the desert as they make their way to other societies where they stand better chance of surviving and where their efforts are better appreciated,” he said.

An Ihiala elder told Naaija.com via phone interview that Ihiala Elders consider the group’s act as antitethical to the Igbo core values saying that their act was tantamount to desecration of the dead with dire consequences attached to it.

However, a source from the IPOB said that the group thought that Ezeemo was conducting a politicial rally and given they were against holding political campaigns in the Southeast and are opposed to holding any elections in the Southeast, they had to invade and force the event to a stop.

“Leaders will not steal, leaders who aren’t corrupt, leaders who will look at the lot of a common man with the eyes of a compatriot and not with eyes of the privileged few.

“Leaders not rulers, leaders not looters, we want to see leaders with a vision not a blurred vision. Leaders who believe that one day, they would stand before God to account for what they have done.

Maitama Sule also spoke about the President Muhammadu Buhari government, but said he needs a think tank, a patriotic think tank, to see to the progress of the nation, and help the president with good policy making.

Saraki said this after Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, contributed to a motion moved by Melaye on the recall process.

Melaye had told his colleagues that Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, was behind the move to eject him from the upper legislative chamber.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already fixed July 10 and August 19 for the verification of signatures on the recall register, saying the outcome of the verification would determine whether the commission would proceed to conduct a referendum.

Earlier, Ekweremadu compared the process of recall to impeachment, saying the national assembly made it strict to avoid abuse.

He said debating the matter at plenary would amount to waste of “precious legislative time”.

“What is happening in Kogi, in respect of Senator Dino Melaye, as far as this constitution is concerned, it is an exercise in futility. They are just wasting precious time because the constitution is clear on what should happen,” Ekweremadu said.

“It is possible that the attorney-general of Kogi state has not advised them properly. If he had done that, I am sure they would have applied their time to more meaningful ventures in the state. The process of recall is the equivalent of impeachment of executive positions.

“To avoid the abuse of impeachment, they made it very strict, provisions and procedures were made on how impeachment can take place. That is why people are not taking that route of removing governors by impeachment.

“In 2010, this parliament amended the constitution regarding section 69. It states that the number of those who are supposed to have requested his (Melaye) recall are supposed to line up somewhere in Kogi, while Melaye and his lawyers and each person would verify their signature.

“When they are done with that, they go back to section 68 which states that the president of the senate receives from the chairman of INEC the recall of the member. They would also present evidence satisfactory to the house. So, they need to come back here and convince each and every one of us that they have done the correct thing. Unless they do that, they cannot even give effect to it. So, why are we wasting our time? Let us move on and allow them to waste their time.”

Earlier, Melaye reiterated that names of dead people appeared on the recall register sent to INEC.

“The total score of both valid and invalid vote is 118,000 but my governors and his appointees in four days claimed they got a signature of over 188,000. They got INEC database of registered voters and copied in one writing into a recall register and forged all the signature,” he said.

“As I speak to you over 120 dead certificates issued by the national population commission and these people relations and families have sworn to the affidavit and these certificates have been deposited.

“This orchestration, injustice, lies, malicious manifestation by my governor must not be entertained in a democracy, not because it is Dino Melaye. It could be anybody.”
