The ongoing demolition notice and executions at the Trade Fair Complex, off the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, has drawn widespread concern from various quarters and, as expected, not without political undertones.

For the record, the late Senator Patrick Ubah made numerous interventions on behalf of Ndi Igbo in Tradefair, including during leadership tussles, an alleged November 2023 agreement with Lagos State Government to regularize all building constructions in the complex with the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. These are matters his legislative successor, Chief Emma Nwachukwu (Onodugo), may eventually need to take a look but only after he is sworn in.

Yet, many social media commentators have seized on the current situation, pushing questionable narratives for clickbait. Chief Nwachukwu, who won a decisive victory on August 16, 2025, across the seven LGAs of Anambra South, was scheduled to be sworn into the Senate on September 24. That ceremony, however, was postponed following an official communiqué signed by Kamoru Ogunlana, Clerk to the National Assembly.

It is, therefore, disingenuous to condemn the composure of the Senator-elect merely for the sake of media traction. With 14 other South East senators already seated, centering criticism on Nwachukwu, who has not yet assumed office appears both premature and politically contrived. Nobody truely can be Ifeanyi Ubah, but there’re people who could still surpass the standard through a very different approach.

Known as a tactician, Nwachukwu has built a reputation for intelligence, calmness, and a quiet but effective style of diplomacy and negotiation. These qualities will serve not only the people of Anambra South but also the broader interests of Ndi Igbo.

For now, however, the priority should be to allow him to take the oath of office and settle into his legislative responsibilities—before attempts are made to score cheap political points at his expense.

Rehabilitation of Upper Iweka Touts in ANAMBRA

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, in October reiterated that the days of touts in the state are numbered and a full blown war has been declared on them.

He maintained that in an environment where lawlessness has become a culture, bringing back law and order will be difficult.

Governor Soludo made the statement during the launching of the Anambra Special Anti-Touting Squad held at Upper Iweka, Onitsha.

Mid November, Chibuzor Okoye of ABS News reported that SASA Arrested 413 Touts, Sets Of "One Chance" Criminal Gangs, Illegal Revenue Collectors In Onitsha, Environs

The report claimed that the Anambra Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) within one week apprehended 413 touts, illegal revenue collector's and four sets of "one chance" criminal gangs in Onistha and it's environs.

In the past few days, a video of the rehabilitation of the arrested touts made rounds on social media platforms in the state as they are forced to sing the Governor’s praise by Homeland Antitouting Unit in ANAMBRA state. The de-radicalization approach has also drawn criticisms as it reflects a similar old terrifying video that showcased the experiences of Okuzu SARS inmates inmates in the state that formed part of the ENDSARS protests nationwide.

Nonetheless, the notorious activities of these touts and criminals cause loads of harms and many times cost innocent persons their lives/livelihoods.

See below the confirmation of payment and successful submission since 3 days till now, i have not received any email on my payment and confirmation of my submission. Worst of is that I can't log back in on the website AND 87USD IS GONE.

That amount multiplied by 100 and then 1000...etc. From honest and unsuspecting Nigerians.

I know many people are already a victim of this but keeping quiet has made more people fall victim. I will not keep quiet on this so that no other person becomes a victim.
