what is your AOR?

According to the IRCC response. Your PR should be ready within 2 Months. We are all looking at September

Do you reside in Nigeria? Folks in Nigeria that we submitted application together last year December (that I know of) have passed everything since April and they have still not gotten PPR. IRCC is holding off sending PPR to people in some locations due to the border restrictions. Nobody knows when the restrictions will be lifted so I don’t think anyone can give a definite answer. If you are in US or Australia though you could get PPR. There have been reports of people in these locations getting PPRs during this pandemic.

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing great.

Finally, I had a ghost update and afterwards, I called IRCC to ask them what's up with my application. This is what I got from the agent:

Eligibility - Passed
Security - Valid
Criminality - Valid
Background - Valid
VO - Montreal, Ca

I have also ordered for GCMS notes.

To the seniors in the house, what is the way forward and how soon can PR come through? smiley

Lastly, I recently got notified that another PR that I applied for in the country where I had my MSc is ready for collection. However, I can't pick it up right now since I have left the country. I am thinking of delaying the collection till I get my Canada PR (I only have 3months though). Is this a good move? Also, in case I pick up this new PR while my Canada PR is still in process, do I have to inform IRCC about it? I really don't want anything to delay this Canada thing as its my main priority. #iConfuse

Thanks as I look forward to responses.

@Zeus04
What’s the other country? Personally, there are some countries I would pick over Canada, Australia is one of them.

Good evening all. Please I would like to ask a question. can I apply for a work permit if my spouse has a job offer in Canada and will be given a work permit? He does not have a PR. During my research, I read some where that I can apply for an open work permit. Please has anyone done this or know of someone who did? Please enlighten me.

You can get an open work permit but his job must fall under Skill A, B or O.

I doubt if you can, because you'll need a letter from IRCC to take to the accredited clinic. Otherwise, they will not attend to you.

At the bold part, there are two of them in Lagos, Qlife on Victoria Island, 155A Prince Ade Odedina St, off Sinari Daranijo St, Victoria Island 101244, Lagos, Nigeria, Phone: +234 809 974 2000; and IUM at Ikeja, I don't know the address, and google didn't bring it out. I can ask my friends though

Good morning seniors, In trying to update an already existing profile, the new modifications didn't seem to transmit. Minutes later, I got a mail in my box telling me to check my application. On checking, I realize my profile has changed to "ineligible". Now, I can't seem to be able to update it anymore. Is there anything I can do? Or I'll have to create a new profile? Kindly assist pls, it's urgent

You have to create a new one

Hello Good morning everyone, I told my best friend about the express entry and shes about to start the journey, she's 25 with a bsc from noun. I calculated her scores, with IELTS, TEF AND BCS, everything rounded up to about 500, if I add 3 years work experience it will round up to 522.
The challenge now is the work experience, she schooled in noun and since it's a part time school, she works and schools, and atm, she hasn't officially graduated because of the pandemic, but is done with her defense, final papers and all that since January. Problem we're having is how to present the work experience, since the pandemic, she has been managing her uncles business too and he pays into her account, her uncles company is registered and recognized. Please can she add that as work experience? Also the job she had during school days, does that count? Will she need to provide payslips for them? As she was paid via transfers and sometimes cash.
Thank you as I anticipate your responses.

Work experience during school no matter how long is not acceptable under express entry

With a tourist visa?? Which airline go carry a spouse or parent with tourist visa this time?

Ma/Sir I don’t know how the arranged flight works. What I said is based on the current update from IRCC about the travel restrictions. You can check it to confirm.

Good morning
Please, I'm about to start registration through Federal Skilled Workers Program and I hold Bachelor degree in Building from a Federal University of Technology in Nigeria but someone told me that they don't allow that unless I have Masters degree before I can apply, please how true is this, I need N'landers help as a matter of urgency.

I think what the person means is that Bachelors program won’t give you enough points to get an invitation to apply. Read the first page of the express entry thread, it is loaded with information.

The cute lady beside me slept for the better part of the journey while I was finding it hard to sleep. I was calm tho cos I got TCC (travel clearance certificate) from my village ppl and they already promised not to follow me to Canada. So I had nothing to worry about.

Landed in Edmonton and saw that one of my checked in bags was ripped. I wasn't surprised tho cos the bag had a whole lot of orisirisi and panti foodstuffs.
Stepped out of the airport and was greeted with cold but I decided not to use my jacket, I got shocked when my host came wearing armless and said the weather was warm... Ki lo warm exactly? Are you people playing me ni? It was at that moment I started dreading winter. As I type this, my jacket is on while people are wearing pants n bra outside my window

I'm settling in quite well even tho I'm still in shock how 10pm can be looking like 4pm and 5am be looking like 9am. There's no way one can predict the time by looking outside in this country.

It's time to start 'living life' as opposed to just 'merely existing' in Nigeria

I'm finally HOME. 10/7/20
Home is where an average person can afford 3 square meals per day. Home is where security is well guaranteed. Home is where there is no huge discrepancy between the rich and the poor. Home is where our resources and funds are not being embezzled by our corrupt leaders . Home is where there are job provisions for graduates. HOME is where there is HOPE!! Home is, home is, home is, home is.................. CANADA
Have a dream and work towards making it a reality.

NB: Ignore the errors cos I hate proofreading, I bet that's why I wrote IELTS twice grin

Big shout outs to those who made this happen.

This was a great read. Welcome to Canada

I hope this friend of yours has a lawyer now because he would have been charged to court. He should get a criminal lawyer. He will not be able to get a job or even travel to the United States because of the charge until he clears himself. Unfortunately, courts are not in session due to COVID-19 which further increases the stress.

I feel sad for this newly immigrated family because of the financial burden they would experience. However, he needs a very good lawyer who can devise a strategy to resolve this without any conviction so he can function properly in society. Please inform him this is not the time to hold any animosity towards the wife and the wife should not feel justified in calling the Police. They have both made a mess and need to be on the same team to get the situation resolved. After all, they got themselves into it in the first place.

Couples should seek alternative means to de-escalate issues. Screaming or shouting at each other is also abuse and when threats are involved it can be considered to be assault especially when the victim claims to be afraid. Also, neighbors are listening and may call the Police and when kids are involved, the Police will involve Child Protection Service who would interview both parties and the kids to consider if the home is safe for them and based on the response of the kids, they may be separated from the family too and placed in foster care.

Nobody wins in this, only the Government and their officials - who may get a promotion on your head/matter.

I think it's only fair that new immigrant couples with severe or serial issues of domestic violence reported be deported outrightly. They should go back to their home country and continue their forever after the way they want.[/quo

A friend of a friend slapped his wife during an argument and his wife called the cops on him. Unknown to him, the cops already entered his information on the database. He recently decided to apply for a job on Ubereats and since they carry out background check, he was told he can’t get the job. After trying to find out what happened, he found out he failed the criminal check because of what happened with his wife. I doubt he would be able to get a good job in a long time. They just landed and have not really settled. I hope people who are abusive will learn from this.

My profile expired June 2nd and I created a new one June 3rd so this means I won't get ITA with the tie breaker rule?

Only if your score is 478, if it’s above that, tie breaker rule won’t apply to you.

Hi guys,

Can a Nigerian trained Pharmacist practise Pharmacy in Canada?

Or is this certificate a shait?
Yes, you just have the Evaluating and Qualifying exams. The remaining requirements will depend on the province you want to practice.

Citizenship in 2022? You said you came in 2015 right.

You have 2 years plus now toward citizenship. You can become one next year if you want.

Congratulations!
I can’t claim more than one year(the requirement is the total number of days before pr divided by 2 but to a maximum of one year). That’s the present requirement, no one knows if that will change.

Hello All.
I'm looking for information about living in the Durham Region of Ontario. That is Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Whitby. Is there anyone on the forum who has experience living in these areas.

Information like where best to rent. Ease of access to Toronto (assuming I'm to work in Toronto and live in Durham).

Access to job opportunities, including various "survival" roles. I work in a regulated field and will take sometime to qualify in my profession.

I would be grateful to receive information about the advantages of starting out life in Canada in this region.

Note: the people who on this forum appear to live in these areas are not exactly active here.

Hi, I stay is Ajax and I love it here but there are not so many survival (or even jobs generally) here , your best bet will be Whitby or Pickering.
