A woman whose identity is yet to be ascertained has allegedly killed her younger sister with a cutlass.

The suspect also attempted to kill her mother and her younger sister’s child.

The incident occurred in Aji community located in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The video of the incident was shared Wednesday by a Facebook user identified as Anyika TV.

The suspect in the video claimed that she was possessed by a strange being, which made her commit the horrific act.

DAILY POST learnt that the suspect’s mother and niece have been rushed to Bishop Shanahan hospital in Nsukka where they are now battling for their lives.

Police are yet to confirm the incident at the time of filing this report.

A man, Alhaji Muhammad Usman and his wife, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Usman, alongside their four relations reportedly lost their lives in a motor accident which occurred at Ahoko bridge, along the Abuja-Lokoja highway on Sunday.

A source said the incident took place on Sunday around 12:34 pm, the eid el fitr day.

DAILY POST learnt that the couple and the four others left Toto town in Nasarawa State in an unmarked Honda car to attend a burial of one of their relatives at Kotonkarfe when the accident took place.

The car, according to the source veered off the road and somersaulted into a ditch after a trailer hit the vehicle from behind, saying that all the six occupants died on the spot.

DAILY POST learned that Muhammed Usman, the victim, was the chairmanship aspirant for Toto LGA in the November 2024, election in Nasarawa.

The remains of the deceased have been evacuated to Toto LGA for burial.

All efforts to get police confirmation on the incident were unsuccessful.

An Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Isabo on Friday told a middle-aged woman, Falilatu Amidu and her daughter, Ayisatu Amidu, to go spend six months behind bars for stealing dry ponmo (cow skin), stock fish and dried meat valued at N1million.

The court, however, gave an option of N5,000 fine with a condition that Falilatu and her daughter must make a refund of N100,000 each to the complainant as restitution before accessing the N5,000 fine.

The convicts, who are residents of the Ago-Oko area in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, were convicted on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.O Odumosu, held that all evidence presented by the prosecution had proven beyond reasonable doubt that the convicts were guilty of the offence as charged.

Odumosu sentenced both the mother and daughter to six months imprisonment each with an option of N5,000.

She equally ordered that the convicts should refund N100,000 each to the complainant as restitution before accessing the N5,000 fine given.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Kehinde Fawunmi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence sometime in August 2024 at Lafenwa market.

Fawunmi explained that Falitatu conspired with her daughter, Ayisatu, to steal a big sack containing stock fish, dry ponmo and dry cow meat valued at N1 million, belonging to one Mrs Kafayat Alao.

He disclosed that Falilatu used to help the complainant carry a load from her store in Lafenwa to where the latter sells her items.

“The complainant asked her to help her pick goods from the store, she waited for over an hour and she did not see the defendant, which made her go to the store to check on her.

“On getting to the store, she did not find Falilatu, and she noticed a big bag containing dried meat, ponmo, and stock fish was missing, and the defendant was nowhere to be found,” he said.

Fawunmi explained that Falilatu stole the goods and gave them to the daughter (Ayisatu) to sell.

He said Ayisatu received the goods from her mother knowing that they were stolen.

The prosecutor noted that the offence committed contravened sections 516, 390(9) and 127 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.
