Politics / Re: Jonathan Destroying Nigeria Before Handover – APC by NaijaDoWell: 10:51pm On May 26, 2015
APC oooooo that is why you people were voted in. You dont need to tell us the obvious! You should be telling us how you intend to solve the problem, not crying more than the berieved masses.

If you think all these excuses will be used to cover our eyes to your unpreparedness, una dey lie ooo! You better sit up and start acting as d ruling party and not as opposition.

Although sha GEJ suppose to do something about these problems na. Anyway, maybe he believes ppl re trying to label his govt as bad or dey are trying to arm-twist him. In anycase, I want a better Nigeria.

You conceeded because you lost. Not conceeded will be a bad thing to do. No cookie for doing the expected. The masses voted you out.

Its unfortunate how our brains work in Nigeria. If GEJ had not conceeded defeat the way he did, Nigeria would be on fire by now! Dont forget GEJ has millions of supporters also, plus the power of incubency, the military e.t.c. If he felt so strongly displeased, he could hv influenced the tribunal to his favour, even b4 swearing-in. He also had the option of interim govt if he was sooooo desperate.
In any case, the country would hv boiled. GMB never believes he loses election. Recall how the North started boiling immediately GMB lost in 2011. He would hv done worse now dat he has d support of d west.
Pls, lets give honour to whom it is due. GEJ saved Nigeria! The wishes & prophesies of d international community was twarted by the simple Noble act of Jonathan. Lets commend him for that.

Politics / Re: Obasanjo Hands Over Report On Strategic Devt Plan To Buhari by NaijaDoWell: 11:52am On May 16, 2015
havocypie:
ABUJA – Signs that ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo subtly amassed support for the election of General Mohammadu Buhari as the Nigeria’s next president and also wants him to succeed in office became evident Thusday when he handed over a report of a strategic development plan to Buhari.

The reports contained templates that would assist the incoming government to rapidly achieve its objectives of taking the nation a notch higher.

Top on the list were Education, Power sector, Economy, Security and Infrastructure.
The development followed a research work embarked upon by the Centre for Human Security of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on major social challenges facing Nigeria 4 months ago.

The event which took place at the Buhari Support Organization, BSO’s office in Abuja featured the chairman, governing board of the Centre for Human Security of Obasanjo Presidential Library, Professor Akin Mabogunje, who was incidentally the chairman of the committee, former Minister of Finance and Committees vice chairman, Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu who present volumes of the report to Buhari and Dr. Christopher Kolade who headed the power committee.

Speaking to Journalists at the end of the brief ceremony that was held behind closed doors, Mabogunje said the report contained policy documents that would help the president-elect restructure Nigeria, revealing that Buhari was full of thanks for the documents

He said: “Centre for Human Security of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Liberary has being working on a number of critical issues for the development of this country and they have now sent a delegation of those who’ve been involved with the preparation of those policy documents to talk to the president-elect and get him to appreciate what is being done to help his administration. That’s why we are here.

“We’ve looked  at education, security, economy, power and Infrastructure. Those are the areas we’ve made recommendations and which we hope the new administration will be able to work on.
“He (Buhari) was very happy that we’ve been thinking about how to help him hit the ground running and he expressed his appreciation for what we’ve been doing.”

Giving details of the reports, Dr. Kolade explained the long, medium and short terms goals of the report.

According to him, the strategic plan hoped to raise the country’s power generation to 10,000 MW within a short period of time.

Expanding thoughts on the development also, the Buhari’s media spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu said “the whole idea was that Obasanjo set up his own think- tank with the aim of carrying out a study on challenges facing the country in five key areas of Education, Power sector, Economy, Security and Infrastructure.  The study was commissioned four months ago so that the outcome will be made available to the incoming administration after the election.”

He also stated that the president-elect expressed gratitude to Obasanjo for their kind gesture, however regretting that the outgoing regime of president Goodluck Jonathan had not done anything close to that.

“An appreciative President-elect expressed gratitude to Obasanjo and his team, describing their intervention as a great impetus for the incoming government.

Buhari regretted that the out-going government that is supposed to give him tips on how to take-off has done nothing so far.  He thanked the Obasanjo for their gesture, assuring them that his incoming administration will be needing their advice as time goes on”, Shehu said.

Mallam Ahmed Joda, chairman of Buhari transition committee refused to speak in his capacity as the transition committee chairman when asked by Journalists to make input.

“I am here not in the capacity of the chairman of the transition committee. I am here because I am a chairman of one of the committees of the centre that consider security issues at the Obasanjo centre for human security”, he said.

Obasanjo is trying to 'navigate' his way into the incoming Buhari's administration. The bolded area shows that they are presenting themselves as potential ministers perhaps in the ministries of Power, Finance, Defense, Education and Works. Chai! Obasanjo get sence sha!

But wait oooo...

GMB and APC should not be carried away by this sudden American attention oooo. Anywhere America goes, they usually take trouble along with them. Abi dem done see how to milk Nigeria? Or seperate us? Perhaps dey want to convince us to accept shale gas? Or to let them set up military unit in Nigeria?

Politics / Re: Buhari Has No Powers To Stop AIT From Covering Him – Dokpesi by NaijaDoWell: 6:39am On Apr 30, 2015
ALL the supporters of GMB should learn to be tolerant. This is democracy! Why the furious attack on Dokpesi and AIT? If the documentary is said to be factual, then give us a counter and superior evidence to the contrary. Nigerians must learn to play politics of tolerance. As it is done in advanced countries, when you vie for public office, your past records and dirty secrets will be revealed. No need to be angry, defend yourself or maneuver yourself.

Goodluck Nigeria.

If I were the General, I won't go for the meeting.
I don't trust these G7 countries.
My mind tells me they want to give him conditions of service.

True. And possibly muscle him to sign some agreements with them, else they will threathen him that he will not be sworn in on May 29th. Why else do you think the G7 was fixed for May 8? They need a good bargaining power over GMB. If they really wanted Nigeria's new President to attend, why was the meeting not fixed for a date after swearing-in?

God help Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Buhari Gets G-7 Invitation For Berlin Summit by NaijaDoWell: 5:51am On Apr 30, 2015
Its good to know the world recognises Nigeria. However, this was how it started wit GEJ, but wen he refused their wicked requests they all ran away; wishing GEJ out of the way and installing a puppet - hungry for power - who will do their bidding. I hope GMB will not be carried away by this sudden attention? Its a smoke screen!

May God grant our President-elect wisdom.
Politics / Re: No One Will Steal Under My Watch – Buhari by NaijaDoWell: 2:09pm On Apr 10, 2015
I believe there will be a 'change' in the stealing pattern. To say there will be no stealing at all, is to be daydreaming. With the likes of Tinubu and OBJ -APC's navigator - there will be silent but massive looting by few, while there will be alot of jamboree, selective justice and media prosecutions, simply to give the impression of fighting corruption while their dirty deals go unnoticed.
May God help Nigeria!

Nigeria must know that Putin speaks from both sides of his mouth. He can hardly be trusted. However, we must have a foreign policy in mind and know exactly what our interests are while embarking on a wise but critically cunny, dicey, and dangerous relationship with Russia.

Good move anyway. Let the game begin!

In short, US is doing these because they still felt hurt about how Nigeria was not transparent with them when they imported expertise and services to Nigeria. It dents a great blow on their reputation that the almighty US Can't locate and rescue kidnapped girls in the forest.
TOO BAAAAD!!!

USA, and indeed the western world, is afraid of Nigeria's potentials. Their ONLY interest now is to see Nigeria split to pieces in 2015 so that we will no longer be a threat to them.
Besides, is there any country USA entered to fight a war and left the country in one piece? Ask Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya etc. Thanks to Nigerian govt for not allowing the USA to come into the country to effect their prediction of 2015 split of Nigeria.
