Celebrities / 4 Lessons From Tiwa Savage's Performance At King Charles' Coronation by Naijapromoter: 3:34pm On May 14, 2023
There are 4 lessons to learn from Tiwa Savage's performance at the British King Charles' coronation last week.
Most of the British celebrity who were invited to perform refused to honour the invitation. In fact, top American artists who would have been expected to show up were not even invited. But our madam was on hand to represent the black African slot.

Politics / How Many Akwa Ibomites Voted TINUBU? by Naijapromoter: 3:58pm On Mar 27, 2023
We need to talk about getting more people to go out on vote on election day, and the single most important way to achieve this is to STOP RIGGING. In Akwa Ibom for example, you would be very shocked at what percentage of the entire population of the state voted for the president elect, Bola Ahmen Tinubu.

https://akwaibomdata..com/2023/03/tinubu-akwa-ibom.html

My question is, if such a miserly percentage supported this man, is it that these voters would bring Tinubu on everyone else?
Lesson: Never allow someone else to choose who becomes leader over you.
Politics / Akwa Ibom: Who Are The Confirmed Governorship Candidates? by Naijapromoter: 2:45am On Feb 17, 2023
The Governorship race in Akwa Ibom State has been rather interesting this time. There has been conversations about who will stand and who will not, even as all the aspirants who went through their respective party primaries continue to prance themselves around as the candidates.

Don’t even bother with the INEC website. Their last posted list is not up to date. They have rows for APC, for example still blank, whereas the Supreme Court has okay’ed Akan Udofia and Victor Antai. Also, the INEC row for PDP still has Umo Eno and Akon Eyakenyi, who have both been removed by a recent Federal High Court judgment.

So, after all the drama so far, come March 11th, who are those eligible to stand in the Governorship elections? And who is already out?

1. Obong Bassey Albert Akpan - YPP
As of February 13, on Nigerians Decide, Bassey Albert wins the elections by a monstrous 250% gap with the immediate next runner up which is (erroneously Umo Eno of) PDP. His intimidating popularity was on display on his way from the correctional facility at Ikot Ekpene, having been locked up by well-known corrupted judgment; and his motorcade could not make a 20 minute journey to his house at Shelter Afrique in 5 hours - because the roads were jam-packed by singing crowds from Ikot Ekpene, through Ikono, Ibiono and Uyo. It is clear that this is the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

2. Akan Udofia - APC
Like play, like play and only God knows what happened at the Supreme Court for Akan and Victor Antai to become the standard bearers for APC. But these 2 are cool guys. Only that, it is too late for them to campaign round the state. Many Akwa Ibomites do not even know if the APC will feature in the elections or not. The clear favourite remains Bassey Albert whose leadership is considered a clean break from the harsh arrogant administration of Udom Emmanuel.

3. Ezekiel Nya-Etok - ADC
The architect has contested in the last 2 to 3 elections and lost. Before joining the ADC, he had run on the PDP platform, but of course, he is not of the same stuff as his former associates in PDP and APC, which is why he smoothly left for another party. He is cleared to run for Governorship.

4. Senator John James Akpan-Udoedeghe - NNPP
Brave Senator Udoedeghe who recently exited the APC, a party he helped extend to Akwa Ibom State at formation, is running on the platform of the NNPP. He is popular for standing up to the scary administration of Godswill Akpabio in the early 2010s. Though funny and popular amongst Uyo locals, many had since turned allegiance to Albert of the YPP and Udo-Edeghe does not stand a chance.

5. Iboro Otu - AAC
The widely-travelled fine and intelligent gentleman, Iboro Otu is once again running for Governorship, this time on the platform of the AAC. Together with Nya-Etok, Udoedeghe, Ekere Essien and Bassey Albert, Otu performed well at the Governorship debates organised by the NUJ, supported by Clement Isong Foundation and other partners. Though fanciful amongst cosmopolitan Akwa Ibom youths and intellectuals, he is far from the frontlines given his lack of experience and unpopular departure from some of the collective expectations of Akwa Ibomites. Of course, he also doesn’t have the wherewithal to pull through in elections like these.

Note that in the Governorship debates, both the PDP and the APC candidates pulled out last minute citing several laughable reasons. But everybody knew that their uncertainty on who would fly their respective flags occasioned the decision to withdraw. After the debates, Akan Udofia was announced as the rightful candidate for the APC - he would have cherished an opportunity to feature, actually - and Umo Bassey Eno’s attempt to appeal the High Court judgment that kicked him out of the race, was further thrown out.

The other candidates featuring in the race are listed below;

6. Emem Coffie - Accord Party
7. Abasiekeme Mfonobong Ekanem - AA
8. Dr. Ekere Essien - ADP
9. Ita Bassey Ekpo - APGA
10. Eyo Eyo Ekong - APM
11. Ephraim Mbaba - APP
12. Akaninyene Ekpenyong - BP
13. Uko Usen Okon - LP
14. Kubiat Bassey Etang - NRM
15. Sunday Francis Ekanem - PRP
16. Emem Monday Udoh - SDP
17. Nsikak Hogan Thomas - ZLP

A report by The Cable indicates that a chief magistrate court in Wuse zone 6, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has ordered the arrest of Umo Eno, the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom state. The newspaper stated that a document it sighted shows that the warrant of arrest was issued by Emmanuel Iyanna, chief magistrate, on Friday, December 23, 2022.

Why did the court order Umo Eno's arrest? The document reportedly indicates that the PDP governorship candidate is facing charges of “cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property”.

Pastor Umo Eno is the preferred candidate of Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom, whom the Governor imposed on the rest of the party in the PDP’s primary held in May 2022.

That means your LGA should be competing with Uyo the State Capital in terms of Infrastructures, good roads, Primary Health Centres etc all executed by your LG Chairman, my broda forget that figures you see, it's on paper, the real Ca$hMo₦€¥ is with the Governor, what he does is he give order for the release of money for Council wagebill, i.e to pay salaries, the little that remains is being shared among the Excos&DPO, LG revenue is what some LG chairmen used in executing minor projects like grading local roads, farm roads, renovation of some schools, sink boreholes etc.
No LGA have access to such funds, it's joint account with State, the State controls all kobo Allocated to LGAs, what the Council Chairmen does is payment of salaries, that's why they're hand-picked or selected &they must be loyal to Governor to occupy those offices.

Until we have LG autonomy before any Chairman can have access to such funds.

Finally oh, Akwa Ibom cannot cope under another harsh, stingy, heartless government as is known of the personality of Umo Eno.

OBA is most def not perfect, but anyone who has followed the story of politics in Akwa Ibom knows that this one will not treat the people as terribly as Udom has done. Imagine pensions, gratuities, promotion benefits all denied. Imagine the scam Udom singlehandedly did with Ibaka deep seaport.

We all know, even if OBA aims to steal as Udom has done, he is known to be super-generous through the years of his career even from banking.

So, the people will need to pick based on reputation and character.

Opinedecandid:
This is ridiculous, hypocritical and clout-chasing.

This is someone that never spoke to criticize Governor Udom Emmanuel for 7 years as a PDP Senator and a hopeful beneficiary of the Guber Ticket to be handed to him by Udom as it then were.

I'm not holding briefs for Gov. Udom, neither am I saying Udom has done well, because he has also failed.
But let OBA not start nke to feign all righteous and patriotic because he wishes to seek political gains from it.

Thank you for your honesty.
But it is unfair at the same time, to appear to generalize all Oro people as self-destructive.
It's th same thing with the Ibibios and Annangs - the ethnic units are struggling between blending with their fellow Akwa Ibomites and uniting internally...

DissTroy:

Lies! No people are as self-destructive as the Oro people. Throw peanuts at the influencers (online and offline) of the Oro people and they'd sing your praises. Udom knows this, that's why every election cycle, he throws peanuts at them, make some low-level appointments and all is good.

I'm Ibibio and I can tell you that there are more Ibibios fighting Udom's attempted diversion of the Deep Seaport (even though he's our kinsman) than Oros.

You people aren't ready to get the recognition. My LGA gets more money from oil sales redistribution than Mbo LGA even though Mbo has slightly more oil than we do.

My LGA also got #6 billion of the 2023 budget while Mbo got peanuts and are quiet. Even at that, we are putting the heat on the Governor for not allocating more and he's gotten more opposition from us.

Fight for what you want if you wanted to be respected as a people in Akwa Ibom. I'm Ibibio and honest enough to let you know we won't give you on a platter of gold.

“When I was a member of the Ibaka Deep Seaport Development and Implementation committee, if we were not serious, we would not have taken the steps of faith we took. By the time I left as Commissioner for Finance we had obtained the first Federal Executive Council approval for development of Ibaka Deep Seaport”.

“And before we got that approval, we had assured the Federal Government that the next Governor – which is the present one – would open the road to the seaport site.”

Explaining that contract awarded for the construction of the roads to the seaport site would demonstrate Government commitment to the actualization of the project to potential investors, the Senator added (Please read the rest via Daily Independent below)

Politics / 'the Time For Ibaka Seaport Is Now', Oba Tells Oro People by Naijapromoter: 2:22pm On Nov 29, 2022
*As Engr. Uwe Akan defects with over 5,000 PDP/APC members to the YPP

Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, CON, the governorship candidate candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), has rekindled the expectations of the Oro people towards having a well-built seaport sited in Ibaka, just as he received 5,000 decapees into the YPP fold.

While receiving the defectors led by Ulap (Engr.) Uwe Akan, former International President of Oro Union Youth Wing on November 27, 2022, OBA condemned the series of deceptions by the present PDP government on Oro people and assured them that his administration will be different.

"Now is Oro’s time. Now is Ibaka Seaport's time. One prayer I've always prayed is God please open the ears and eyes of our youths, elders and women. I have known the truth and the truth has set me free. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free. If I say I will build Ibaka Seaport, I mean it. If this Government continued from where we stopped under Gov.Akpabio, Ibaka Seaport would have been a reality today. Go to Uyo and Abuja, Ibaka Seaport is only on billboards”, he said.

The senator reiterated his commitment to see the project through to fruition. “The seaport would employ the youths even at construction stage. This is time for Ibaka Seaport. Stand up and support the YPP. The economy in Oro can make life better for the Oro people. We will transform Oro", the lawmaker assured.

"In 2019, Udom went to Urue Offong Oruko and promised roads, fish processors and jobs. Has he done? Last week, Umo Eno went back and made the same promise, claiming continuity. They are fighting me because of you. They don't want you to know the truth, but you will know the truth. I will exceed your expectations", he pledged.

While speaking, the deputy governorship candidate of YPP, AIG Asuquo Amba (rtd.) said there is hunger in Oro, despite huge amounts that accrue to the state.

He said that the powers-that-be in the state deliberately make things difficult for the people and promised that when OBA assumes office, things will change for better.

Speaking earlier, Ulap Uwe who led the defectors told the lawmaker that Oro people, who have long been marginalized by the present government, have decided to support OBA for governor, come 2023.

"Today is a clear indication that Oro is YPP. I am here to communicate the message of Oro that come 2023, we will send you to the Hilltop Mansion. While you were Commissioner, you tried for the entire Oro. Your blueprint also is the reason we are here today".

Uwe complained of lack of development in the area and made a formal request for Ibaka Seaport and slots for commissioners.

"The place where the serving house member is from, there is no transformer. If there is anything Oro people need, it is Ibaka Deep Seaport. Oro people will be pleased with you if you graciously give Oro Nation five commissioners", he said.

He further gave reasons why he and thousands of others decided to follow OBA

"What motivated me to follow you is because with you the hope of Akwa Ibom is guaranteed. That is why this crowd of both PDP and APC members decided to defect and join you", he added.

Politics / Kwankwassiya In Uyo: Declare Support For OBA | Bassey Albert | Akwa Ibom by Naijapromoter: 2:01pm On Nov 29, 2022
The group that went to see Senator Bassey Albert yesterday are members from the Arewa community and the Kwankwassiya movement of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. Read the story below.

The leader of the group, Alhaji Garba Abba, while assuring OBA of the total support of the youths of the Arewa Community resident in Akwa Ibom State, described the senator as a young and vibrant legislator par excellence, who has stamped his mark in the soils of time with many achievements tied to his name.

He said, ”we are supporting OBA because of his capacity and antecedents. As a member of the 8th and 9th senate, he has represented the people effectively having sponsored many bills and moved many live-changing motions. This has earned him many National Honors. This is proof that he has all it takes to be the Governor of Akwa Ibom State”, he submitted.

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Young Progressives Party and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Senator (Obong) Bassey Albert, CON, has charged Nigerian youths to rise above their limitations by takingtheir destinies in their hands.

The lawmaker, popularly known as OBA, made this assertion while interacting with the leadership and members of the Kwankwassiya Frontline, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, who paid a solidarity visit to him at Senator Bassey Albert Multi-Purpose and Recreational Center, Uyo on Monday, November 28, 2022.

“When l look at the passion, I feel the commitments of the youths on the need to effect a change that will impact on the wellbeing of generations yet unborn. There is hope. I am very happy that the youths are taking charge because the time to effect that change is now. We must get it right so together we can secure a better future for our children“, he said.

OBA thanked God for making the day possible and also for the honor accorded him by their visit. He again charged the youths to take their destinies in their hands and rise above all limitations.

1. Governor Udom Emmanuel announced that the 2 new Ibom Air aircrafts are "BRAND NEW huge white birds" (ThisDay)

But the Fact: They are OLD!
Follow me:

1. The jets are leased for 1 year from Get Jet
2. After 1 year, Get Jet will take them back.

The aircrafts are;
- LY-FAS, almost 13 years old, and previously used by 4 airlines.
- LY-GYM, aged over 17 years old, previously used by 6 airlines..

2. In the 2nd week of November 2021, Gov. Udom said in Eket;

“As I’m leaving here, we’re signing fresh agreements that will give us 10 brand new A220-300 Air Buses" (Tribune)

He was referring to deals he signed at the Dubai Air Show.

This one is the bomb, and the EFCC must investigate this.

To reinforce this claim by the Governor, COO of Ibom Air, Goerge Uriesi and their MD Marketing, Aniekan Essienette announced in a press statement that Ibom Air was buying 10 BRAND NEW A220-300s from Airbus.

BusinessDay, Guardian, Aviationmetric, New Telegraph, Airinsight all reported the cost to be $915M as value of the purchase.

Want to know the truth?

Ibom Air only paid for three (3) A220-300s

The remaining 7 are A220-100s

Note that the Ibom Air website in their release did not specify the very aircraft they paid for. They just called it A220.(https://www.ibomair.com/ibom-air-orders-10-brand-new-airbus-a220-aircraft/)

Only Gov Udom and their other ogas went to over-talk. Thank God sef...too much talk-talk don put them for wahala!

FACTS:
A220-300 = $91.5M per aircraft
A220-100 = $81M per aircraft

It means they paid $274.5 M for the three 300s
and $567M for the seven 100s

Total paid was $841.5M

But they said they paid $915M for Ten A220-300s

$73.5M don enter pocket‍♀️‍♀️

At today's rate of N765 to $1,
$73.5M of stolen Akwa Ibom money is N56.2275 Billion.

Who stole this money?
The same people that said they paid $915M when they paid $841.5M.

By the way, Udom Emmanuel has refused to answer Deacon Udom Emmanuel anymore.

Crime / Popular isangadighi Complicit In Alleged 41 Million Naira Chartered Flight Fraud by Naijapromoter: 1:55pm On Nov 10, 2022
Some medical doctors who were supposed to return to Nigeria during the covid lockdown have gone on social media to accuse a travel agency Abilfat & Associates of defrauding them over 54000pounds which they paid in2020 as flight fare. After suing Abilfat to court, according to them, they later found out that famous doctor Uwe Isangedighi, from an Akwa Ibom elite families, was actually the one who collected the monies through Abilfat travels to arrange for the flight.

According to some of them, they had Abilfat CEO Mrs Faith Essien arrested in Uyo, and sued her to court. She then explained that the complainants had paid to her but she is just an agent. She showed evidence that all payments were forwarded to Uwe Isangedighi who she said was the exact individual who knew the flight operators in the UK, one Oryx Jets Limited.

According to her statement, he introduced Oryx Jets to them. But when she dragged Uwe Isangedighi to court, he denied knowing them. But some of them say they are aware she has hard evidence that the guy did everything between both companies. If it is true, and he is denying, then Dr. Uwe Isangedighi is the link to these missing funds.

In a family photograph of the Uwe’s obtained via Facebook, there is a serving Senator, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; a popular High court judge, Justice Eno Isangedighi, a former senator, Nelson Effiong, the PDP deputy governorship candidate Akon Eyakenyi and other notable elite in Akwa Ibom.

Update: Some of the affected persons have filed fresh lawsuits against the alleged culprits and are hoping to follow to any length to get justice.
