Alen was the last person I had expected to see that fine Saturday afternoon.

It is 1400 light-yrs away frm us(meaning, if they say hello and transmit that on a radio wave, it will take 1400 years for us on Earth to receive their hello!). Even if there is life there, it will be somehow difficult for us to know directly. But so far, it is the most likely place found for life to exist outside of the Solar System!

Meaning light would travel from Earth to that planet in 1400 years.. . And since there's no space ship as fast as light (yet) , we should be looking at around 5000 years for any message to get to us
