Thanks for the pictures, but I would also suggest if you can provide us with a detail explanation on how you arrange your travel visa to Oman. which agencies in Oman actually sponsored your visa. How many days visa were you? what is the cost of the Oman visa? which airline ferried you to Oman and the cost? |
I support the Niger Delta request to control their oil resources. But I strongly believe that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is not the right person to make such a request because he did not make judicious use of the huge funds that was allocated to Delta state from the federation account. Youth unemployment is crying to high heavens in Delta state. The opposition in Delta state is not even speaking or challenging the wrongs of the Uduaghan led administrations in Delta state. The only man who manage to speak out against Udughan was chief great ovedje Ogboru. Delta state seems to be so unfortunate when it comes to vibrant leadership. |

I do not know if truly you have the $20,000 you claim you have for business investment. Instead of Fiji Island, I think you should consider a more bouyant economy in places such as Australia and or New Zealand. Maybe you are attracted to Fiji Island because of it visa free policy for Nigerian citizen. |
Is there any Nigerian in Reunion Island? Please share your experience about living condition, travel arrangement and job opportunities in the Reunion Island. The best information I can get is that it is a department of France ( french territory ) and it requires a France issued travel visa for non eu citizen to enter the Reunion Island ( but it is not a part of the schengen so persons with a Reunion Island visa can not enter the schengen zone in europe. The Reunion Island has a separate travel visa arrangement different from the Schegen visa. The Reunion Island is an island nation just close to Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles. Despite being a french territory it is located in Africa and it is one of their overseas territory. So any Nigerian with a practical travel experience to Re'union Island can share vital information including pictures. |

Haustraliah: depends on your purspise of visit,or study. It is not easy for a Nigerian to get Turkish visa. It is rather disturbing that Nigerian have to get a Turkish visa first of all to enable him or her file a visa request to enter much poorer country like Moldova, Armenia and Kosovo. Kosovo visa that was free to all nationality including Nigerian is no longer free as one has to enter turkey with a turkish visa before applying for the kosovo visa in Instanbul or ankara in Turkey. |

I would like to know why most organization in Qatar now requires a transferrable sponsorship ( transfferable visa ) from applicant before giving them job. They do not want to take the responsibility of sponsoring an applicant ( foreign worker ) from his or her country to work in Qatar. They prefer to look for residents with valid papers in Qatar to give their jobs to leaving out foreign based applicants. The Qatar labour law requires that the applicant pay for the travelling cost of the worker from his or her country to Qatar and from Qatar at the end of the contract. |
The sights of all this expensive cars is the height of Arab exploitation of slave labour. Their government has a well drawn out plan that favour employers of labour in the gulf countries to pay peanut to asian and african labourer who come to the UAE and Qatar to work ( mostly philippinos, indians, nepali, bangladeshi, srilankan, pakistani ) The bulk of the country wealth is made available to themselves and their spoit children. It is not funny when you see their kids drives a big car to their univiersity. This kids do not even work. I do not fully blame them it is our african leaders that I blame. |
I wish to know how much the new techno Phantom z is sold in Nigeria? |

When President Jonathan publicly condemned Mr Patrick Sawyer for entering Nigeria with the Ebola virus some Nigerian on nairaland were saying that Jonathan should have selected his words in describing Mr Sawyer. But it is obvious Jonathan is right seeing how the disease is now spreading and killing innocent Nigerians especially doctors and nurses who are caring for patient. |
This is good news coming from the Islamic Republic of Iran, a country former united states president, Mr George Bush (jnr ) described as one of the axis of evil. They are currently developing nuclear program which the west is trying to frustrate on the suspicion that they can use it to develop nuclear bomb which they can use to fight Israel or to promote terrorism. Iran technological feat should be a lesson to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a country known for corruption. It is interesting to note here that the success the Iranian are celebrating is achieved by a woman who they denied all the rights. They prefer their women to wear hijab ( covering for the head ) and also prefer to lock up their female children from contact with males on the street. Iranian girls are denied the rights to education in the past and it is now things are gradually changing. I think what the Iranian need is to publicly renounce terrorism and stop giving support to terrorist and accept Israel as a nation or be friendly with Israel and this will bring about the needed change in Iran relationship with the western world. The country political leadership should also try to open up the country to the outside world. Take for example dubai ( the UAE ) Qatar, Oman, Bahrain this country are doing fine and well travelled by foreigner because they are more friendlier. I think the Iranian with their technological outfit will be much greater because they have good and accomplished scientist but they must be ready to change their current belief it is not helping Iran. Iran must try to welcome strangers |
If the results of the national conference favours the northern region, they would have implemented the decisions of the conference by now. There would be no delay but they know they have no resources to fall back on so they choose to block the move of other region. The oil producing states in Nigeria should take over their oil resources by force and that will be the end of Nigeria. I think Nigeria is getting to a turning point as people in Nigeria are becoming more aware of their rights. Fiscal federalism and resources control is becoming an issue in our political system and the north knows they will not have peace until they cooperate. The national conference is not a waste of time. It was highly beneficial as all the interest groups or region in Nigeria now know the feeling of the other. It is now left for Nigerians to work toward full implementation of the decision of the conference or keep it in the shelf for the doomsday when we decides to part and go our own separate ways. |
This story reminds me of the present king in Agbor, Delta state who was crowned Obi of Agbor at a much younger age of 2. His father died when he was just a baby in his mother arm. But this news of the newly crowned Obi of Issele Uku is better because at 20 years he is an adult man that is old enough to marry a wife. He should conclude his University Education by transfering to foreign university abroad. It is good for our king of nowadays to be highlly educated for them to provided the need counselling and guidance to their people. I wish him a successful reign. |
For the Republic of Suriname a dutch speaking country, you have to reach there through a transit travel arrangement as there is no direct flight from Nigeria to that country. You can transit through Brazil in South America since Brazil share borders with the country in itself or you can transit through Europe possibly through Holland, Germany, Portugal, or the United Kingdom. But you might have to work out a visa arrangement for the country you will be transiting through. To get a Suriname visa you can arrange a visa arrangement with the embassy of south africa to enable you travel to south africa to arrange your suriname visa. You can find suriname embassy in south africa below. The Embassy of the Republic of Suriname in Pretoria, South Africa Groenkloof Forum Office Park, Suite #4 57 George Storrar Drive Groenkloof, 0181 PO Box 149 Pretoria 0027 Republic of South Africa Tel. no. : 0027 -12 346 7627 Fax no. : 0027 -12 346 0802 E-mail : embsur@lantic.net There is suriname embassy in Brazil, but you have to arrange visa to get to Brazil first of all through the Brazilian embassy in Nigeria to enable you travel to Brazil to arrange for suriname visa at Suriname embassy in Brazil. So it all involve a transit visa arrangement which you can not avoid completely. alternatively you can travel to London ( UK ) and from there get to guyana or suriname or trinidad and tobago or barbados ( British airways ) and then work out your transit travel from there to reach suriname. |
19naia: I was living in philippines for two years and it is very cheap to live there but not easy to make money unless you are from privilege background or are very skilled in the right sector... 19naia, Thank you so much for your detailed write up it contains valuable facts and from the points mentioned we can now begin to know why the phillipinos will continue to be a first choice among employers of labour in Qatar. I will also want to thank other contributors for their helpful points. It is now left to Nigerian and other African national to think twice if Qatar job market is worth considering. We seem to be tempted by the tall rising building in Qatar skyline thinking that we can get a dream of a life time there. But like 7up the difference is clear when we have to compete with philippinos, indian, Nepalese etc |
May the soul of the late traditional ruler of Ikorodu, rest in peace, in Jesus name, Amen. Why are there too many traditional ruler in Lagos? In some parts of Nigeria, the culture is different. |

Dear Nairaland member, I would like to know why phillippinos ( citizen of the phillippines ) are the preferred choice of employers of labours in Qatar? after this group comes the indian, nepalese, pakistani, bangledeshi, srilankan. African people comes last only when there is no other alternative to the earlier mentioned nationals. Every advert you see in qatar it is always phillippinos on the list. The only exception is the western expatriate who are mainly from France, united kingdom etc. who are well treated with high position jobs. I have been told that Nigerians and some other african national such as Kenyan, Ghanaian, Ugandan are denied offer because they are not happy to accept peanut. they prefer the big paying jobs. Is this the only reasons why employers of labour in Qatar carefully exclude Nigerians and other african and they target their jobs to mainly phillippinos? |
Qatar Visa is based on the sponsorship system. A travel agency or agent in Nigeria or Qatar can sponsor your visa. 5 star hotel in Qatar can arrange your visa if you book a room in their hotel for some days although very expensive .Qatar embassies outside qatar do not handle visa processing as a matter of policy. So look for a reliable travel agent to arrange visa for you. You can also enquire from Qatar airline if they can arrange your travelling papers ( visa ) to Qatar. |
