Nairaland / General / What Is Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan Doing To Revive The Warri Port? by naijaspeak(m): 2:40am On Apr 24, 2013
In most industrialised nation of the world sea port are an integral part of that nation develpment as it is a money spinner and equally a job creating machinery. Countries like singapore,( Rotterdam)Netherland,China,Uk,Antwerp ( Belgium) are making huge returns from their sea port.

In Nigeria, the story is different. The only port that is working to a large extent is the Lagos port, Onne port in rivers state and the calabar port.

The Warri port is not fully functional as it has not been able to create jobs. Export of product is not been carried through the port at least on a commercial scale. What is Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan administration doing to revive the dead Warri port?

The twin city of Warri and Effurun including the surrounding environ towns is not feeling the impact of the presence of a port as no major inport or export is going on in the port.

Warri and Effurun is filled with unemployed men who have no company to work but to console themselves with the job of driving taxi and tricycle on the street of warri as there are no manufacturing companies in Warri.

For those who care just take a visit to Warri/Effurun and specifically the port and see for yourself the sad picture of years of neglect,abandonment,mala-administration etc

In Nigeria, We have a long way to go politically, socially and developmentally. For a state like Delta that is receiving trillions of naira/dollars from the federation account and having nothing to show for money received it paints a sad picture of the high rate of corruption

Just looking for cheap publicity. Anyway, all this so called nollywood actors and actresses are not doing enough in terms of public social responsibility to their area of abode ( Nigeria society ) They believe in chop alone, enjoy alone ( eat alone ) culture. In simple word, they make the wealth and flaunt it at our face. Shame on you Nollywood actors and actresses.

You owe Nigeria, more than what we are seeing on ground. You should spend your wealth to alleviate poverty in the country

Politics / Re: Name National Library After Achebe: Reps To FG by naijaspeak(m): 4:05pm On Mar 27, 2013
Pataki: The easiest way to spit on Achebe and on his grave is by according him a national recognition in his death.

Achebe clearly did not like the existence of a one Nigeria. He was biafra by heart and soul. He severally rejected whatever national award the nation and the government wanted to give to him.

If the senate wants to honor, please march to his Ogidiland and build whatever you want there in his name.

Achebe would be hissing wherever he is right now, to hear that he is being considered for national recognition.

You have said the truth. Achebe does not deserve this kind of honour. I think the government of Anambra state where he comes from should be the one that should honour him.

Politics / Governor Uduaghan A Big Set Back To Delta State And Nigeria ( That Is The Truth by naijaspeak(m): 3:46pm On Feb 24, 2013
The Delta state governor is a leader that is out of touch with the people of delta state. He has shown little or nothing for all the trillions of naira the state has received from the federation account.

There is no flyover in Delta that is built by his administration. There is little or no industries in the state and he has not deem it wise to create the true enabling environment that will attract foreign investors. The state is one of the most under-developed in the country.

In fact, the good people of delta state and settlers are praying that his tenure comes to an end. He is just a time-waster and an empty barrel.

Uduagan is good for one thing the senseless demolition of traders businesses all in the name of giving the state a befitting look.

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has brought so much set back to delta state. Other governors such as Fashola of Lagos state, Oshoimole of Edo state, Peter Obi of Anambra state,Okorocha of Imo states, Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state etc are making giant strides in terms of 21 first century development infrastructures in their respective states but Uduaghan has nothing to show for all the money his government had received from the federal government.

Governor Uduaghan believes in propaganda and high services just to deceive the outside world but the good people of delta states knows from their heart that this man has done little or nothing for all the trillions of naira his government had received.

Taliban: In my own opinion osaze shouldn't be invited again. Let's continue the rebuilding with young players.

You are wrong. Osaze is one of Nigerian greatest footballer of our time. Forget about the fact that he is outspoken. He is the kind that always want to speak is heart out whenever there is injustice in the national team. This is one of the character of a modern footballer. even in foreign club such as manchester united, chelsea, stoke, newcastle united etc players speak out their feeling when they see wrong going on. So Osaze behaviour should not be seen as strange. forget about the fact that he fell out with Shaibu Amodu, Samson Siasia, and more lately Stephen Keshi.

To me, Keshi as not been truely tested, and I know in the coming competition we will know how truly competent he is. Remember he was a failure in Mali and Togo as a national coach.

I rest my case, bye

Travel / Nigerians Living In Nepal How Did You Secure Your Travelling Visa? by naijaspeak(m): 8:25pm On Jan 13, 2013
Nepal immigration grant visa on arrival ( VOA ) to several citizens of different countries with the exclusion of some countries such as Nigeria,Ghana etc from list of eligible countries.

For Nigerians, Ghanaians etc we are told to apply through their embassy, counsulate or high commision as there no voa ( visa on arrival ) for us.

My questions to Nigerians living in Kathmandhu,Nepal how were you able to cross to Nepal from Nigeria given this immigration restriction. And for the fact that there are no Nepalese embassy in Nigeria except in Abu dhabi (uae ) and Egypt and also India

They also say Calabar people eat dog. All these sayings have been with us in Nigeria.

Travel / Re: Nigerians Stuck In Dubai/ Overstayed Take Advantage Of This by naijaspeak(m): 7:49pm On Dec 04, 2012
Apart from granting amnesty to foreigner who have violated their stay permit in Dubai and the entire UAE. The government of the UAE ( dubai ) should also cancel the sponsorship system as it relate to employment of foreign worker.

The government of the United Arab Emirate and other gulf countries such as Bahrain,Kuwait,Qatar,Oman,Yemen,Saudi Arabia etc need to review their immigration law to accommodate foreigners.

It is sad to see the UAE welcome visitors with an easy 3o days tourist visa only to chase the visitors as soon as their permit runs out. Those who remain is fined when they try to sneak out of the country.

Travel / Re: Nigeria A Dumping Ground For Persons Of Other Nationalities by naijaspeak(m): 4:08am On Nov 22, 2012
This is another interesting points to the points I raised earlier on. I think government has a crucial role to play in ensuring that the Nigerian content is given a place in the industrial sectors. This they can do by restructuring government policies towards the Nigerian applicants.

Like I mentioned earlier, we have this colonial mentality which make us to believe that nothing good is in our people unless it is a foreigner from overseas. This thinking need to change for something good to come in.

I still think some qualified Nigerian expatriate will still be willing to accept lesser pay if the opportunity is thrown at them. But this opportunity is not been thrown at them because the employers of labour in Nigeria have this sugared taste for anything white men and this semi-white - Lebanese,Indian, Korean, Chinese, and Brazilian.
Travel / Nigeria A Dumping Ground For Persons Of Other Nationalities by naijaspeak(m): 3:14am On Nov 21, 2012
[b] Because of our relaxed immigration policies created by corruption, poor leadership and lack of visionary leaders in government, Nigeria is a dumping ground for so many foreigners which find the country as an easy haven they can get what they want at the expense of the suffering unemployed Nigerian graduates. You can find the lebanese, chinese, indians, korean, and so many west african citizens.

However, on the sharp contrast Nigerian are been deported from various countries across the globe. Nigeria is among the group of counties that are excluded from the relaxed visa opportunities some countries national enjoy.

Only in Nigeria, we can find some foreigner working as expatriate in positions there are qualified Nigerian. If you investigate properly, you will discover that these expatriate are engaged on jobs so many Nigerians are qualified to do even much more better.

These company because of their quest and desire to have foreigner among their workforce organize fictitious interview and make the federal government to believe that no Nigerian possess the experience and qualification to do the job hence they are bringing a foreigner. it is all false and lies, Nigerian hold better qualification and experience than the expatriate. Meanwhile if they employ a Nigerian they will not even demand for the salary benefits that they are throwing at these chinese, lebanese, koreans etc. Most companies attract these foreign expatriate with juicy and elaborate salaries, fantastic housing, AC powered car, domestic helper and security personnel. An opportunity they feel reluctant to give to Nigerian.

Some companies even boast before the Nigerian media that they have foreigner among their workforce. What a shame! There are so many reasons for this and one reason can be attributed to the colonial mentality we have had all this years.

Meanwhile if a Nigerian goes abroad they can not find similar good job despite their qualification. They make do with menial job such as dish washing, cleaning and gabbage packing in europe and english teaching jobs in Thailand, Indonesia, China and Brazil

Some of these companies goes out of their way to bribe the Nigerian immigration official to enable them bring in foreigners to live and work here. And if you look at the qualification of these foreigner you will know that their qualification are not better off than that of the Nigerian.

The funny aspect of our national problem is that these company feel they are better off with a foreigner than a Nigerian professional.

Politics / Re: Pictures From Dr. Saraki's Burial by naijaspeak(m): 3:49am On Nov 15, 2012
[b]THERE WAS A COUNTRY CALLED KWARA STATE

"There was a country" ruled ruthlessly by this man - Olusola Saraki.

He was a selfish man who wanted power for himself and for his children.

He ruled kwara state politics for years

He stole the peoples mandate making his son the executive governor of the state.

He tried fruitlessly to forced his daughter on the poor impoverished kwarans to become governor even though saraki knew the woman had nothing to offer kwarans.

He died leaving kwara state treasury looted, the state is one of the poorest in Nigeria

He created a situation that made kwara never to have any serious opposition party against himself including his government ruled by the network of his aspiring children.

He exploited the ignorance of kwarans.

He will be remembered as one of the gangster of politician like Umaru Dikko, Late Adisa Akinloye,Joseph Wayas etc who looted our national treasury during the second republic government of Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Shagari of 1979. Nigeria never recovered from the loot committed by this groups of political robbers.

Like Chief Tony Anenih of Edo state, Baba Oloye as he is fondly called never left a positive legacy behind him.

He was one of the groups of Nigerian politician who stole the peoples mandate for personal gains.

The late Olusola Saraki did a lot of harm to the growth and development of politics in Kwara state and Nigeria as a country.

Quite sadly, this man never regreted his bitter actions while he was on earth until the cold hand of death snatched him away.

It is always right to have a part time business besides your full time job. In todays world, it is risky putting one's egg all in one basket as the hire anf fire culture is becoming a daily reality. Sometimes it is not that one commit an offence that results in a sack but rather sacking/termination of employment happens due to low productivity and poor business environment
