Phones / Re: How To Track A Stolen Phone by naira0(m): 12:43pm On Sep 24, 2021

Help urgently needed.

My phone was stolen few days ago and I moved to welcome back my MTN SIM. I have been told that another name was registered on the line and as such I cannot recover my line.

This claim by MTN is a little shocking to me seeing that I had linked that SIM with my NIN earlier this year which was successful.

Pls, what do I do to get my SIM back. I have used this same SIM for over 15 years and I also have my SIM certificate/pack.
Any help/suggestion?

FYI

Twood is not Bracelum and Bracelum is not Twood. They are two different people. So, get it right

Sit down there and be contemplating a thought on someone else's issue.

If you know how busy that guy is and the level of his achievements, you wouldn't have thought that he would have the time or stoop himself so low to create different accounts on Nairaland all in the name of commenting on Nairaland issues.

Just sit there and keep contemplating a thought on someone while that person is busy contemplating a thought on how he will get to a higher position than where he is presently.

Someone that hardly even has time for himself now will have time for Nairaland.

Can't blame him though a lot of our people have issues
I share your thoughts here. I have had cause to discuss with some persons here in private, and I said that some Nigerians have a problem with high abuse rate and inability to "package" themselves in the public or in formal settings. You will see me write things like "read in between the lines and pick relevant tips as it applies to you". The vast majority here, simply lash out at Bracelum and TWoods, forgetting that there are sad truths those guys are passing on. The best a smart person could do is pick the silent messages and ignore the teaching methodology. I wish Dora is still alive to drum on her message of an improved Nigeria with a proper re-orientation. Indians are no better than us. They are as corrupt, or even more, yet they are largely given soft landing during visa interviews. How did we decay this far? Quite a sad rhetoric!

My friend... Lols grin! I know wetin you mean but it might not be as you think sha.

I think we should avoid unnecessary distractions and help ourselves achieve our dreams in every little way we can using this forum. My desire and goal for being here is to bring light, enlightenment, assistance, encouragement, and invigoration of hope in everyone my words are able to reach. Life is very, very short to be hard on another human being.

May I share that there are students here with highly complicated admission and visa cases than we have openly seen. They wants someone who will listen and empathize and guide them. I'm starting to imagine who these guys and ladies will will talk with if everyone here is Hitler.

Sorry, I just felt like sharing this under your comment.

Quite a thought! I agree with you in toto. Let's join hands to make this an e-home, where we could all conveniently return to "roost". I have learnt a great deal from the two usernames and indeed, this thread. Some 1year ago, I was a complete green horn, started on a very very poor note, but today, there has been a remarkable improvement on my person. Let me also add that those two usernames have earned my respect anytime, any day. I'll stop so far.

We have been reliably informed that SEVIS fee will increase by a little over 80% in a week time. The earlier you pay, the better. Paying your visa fees early, also gives you the added advantage of choosing a most convenient date. So, Yes! Go and pay up pronto.

It is glaringly self evident that organised atheism will bring more harm to mankind than organised religion. The more dangerous one is clad in garment of religion moderation. There's hardly an atheist that were s/he a believer wouldn't be dangerously fundamentalist. Always angry, always seeking out believers to curse out and attack unjustifiably, the hallmarks of the typical fanatic. Whatever is built on such vile never brings any good. And again, organised religion may have instigated some harm, but it is also true that every healthy human mind craves a tether beyond the mundane. For many, it is this quest to hinge the mind on something beyond self that constitutes their entire faith, what satisfies this in the absence of organised faith? Where in the whole of creation has a vacuum proven purposefully sustainable? It is OK to underscores the role ,influence /impact of a supreme being or even reject the his existence , but it is downright silly to insist that those who bow in unobtrusive worship, either through individualized subscription or via organised faith must quit because you somehow, by your superior brilliance know they bow to air.
You gave me a hard time assimilating your ventilation. Next time, you may consider to use a friendlier writing style. I no too sabi book, pity people like megrin

But why is it that Nigerians are always the first to here news and fake rumors about USA and even we living here don’t hear anything?
For USA to place such a huge ban on something like banning F1 visas , it is not a day job. It can take years to approve something like that. Even trump cant just wake up one morning and say he wants to ban something, it has to go through Congress, and most of the things he has brought up Congress no even Dey answer am. Even till today, they no answer am for the WALL!!
Not all Nigerians! That fake news is the handiwork of web traffic racketeers. The news is not worth the keyboard that typed it.

Pls my transcript is below...
Pls help me review n criticise!!!

Vo. Why r u here?
Am here for my F1 student visa interview.
Vo. What r u going to do in d us?
Am going for my masters studies in public policy and administration @ Jackson state uni Mississippi
Vo. How did u hear abt JSU?
In my undergraduate studies in 2013, I used a textbook material on management and administrative theories published by prof......xyz. I made further research to discover that prof...xyz is a product of jsu and he lectures at jsu
Vo. Why JSU?
Jsu is one of the top HBCU in d us and d program offered by d PPA dept has NASPAA accreditation, that's y I prefer jsu
Vo. Why MPPA?
MPPA will afford me a better opportunity &be at advantage to work with d govt( both local and state govt) when u return to Nigeria because d govt values young pple who av gained international exposures from there studies exp in d us.also d program will enable me build professional competencies in d public sector and d dept requirements matches my profile.
Vo. Who is ur sponsor?
My dad..he's sponsoring both my tuition n living expenses($29,104)
He has a business that deals in supply of fuel products to private n govt institutions.
Vo. Any scholarship or G.A funding?
Not yet, I emailed my dept chair Dr....xyz abt scholarship n GA he said once d session resumes that there is a partial funding assistantship available....
You have a great deal of work to do on this draft, to be honest.

For starters, did you really hear about the school from a text book or did you conveniently lift that line from the most recent transcript this evening? Make sure to give honest answers as VOs are trained to ask scathing questions.

Your reason for choosing JSU does not make good sense to me. From my experience, if your program is not ranked among top 20grin then don't bring up accreditation and ranking issues. Good schools usually have one form of accreditation or another before they are cleared to award degrees.

Regarding the reason for choosing PPA, you sounded banal too. So summarily, you need great deal of work to do. Prepare for even more questions beyond these ones you listed.

At the bolded, you have problem with understanding. I personally highlighted the top school part he mentioned and not the funding part. He can tell the fellow to change school and not everytime join top 20 school without knowing if the candidate has the right profile for top 20 schools. That was my point. Top school is not for everyone. Next time read to understand and don't be fast to speak.
You sound pained. Next time simply ignore his comments and move on. It's more honorable than what you're doing right now.

Mr. Top 20 schools, Just know that it's not everyone that has the right profile (GPA & Test scores) to get admitted in top schools. The way you tell people to join top schools as if its within their power gets me tired atimes, when some doesn't even have the right profile.
Personally, comments like that from TWoods and bracelum should spur people on. You see, when somebody aims at the the sky, there's a good chance they'll end up on the rooftop. But when they aim at the rooftop, they may crash land on the ground floor. It's always good to read in between the lines and glean important details that can prove useful. I think I also read where he advised the fellow about taking up admissions from regular universities that are not ranked among top 20.

Those that fill they Ds-160 form today should tell us if their is any available space for the social media stuff implemented by Mr. Trump.
Let me tell you for FREE that DS forms have been updated to reflect the changes. If you are sure you're social media posts do not violate any/all of the security questions on your DS form, then you have nothing to worry about.

Good morning nairalanders
I was denied this morning at the Lagos U.S embassy, here's my transcript
VO: Good morning
.
.
.
Me: I am going to the US for my masters degree program in computer and information science at southeast Missouri State University

Me: my step father
VO: he's a business man and he's into oil and gas business with a couple of gas stations and he's also one of the dangote cement distributor for the southwest zone.
VO: what will the course do for you?
Me: the course will equip me with the challenges of developing and implementing new technologies and also improve on the existing ones bcoz technology on daily basis advances which makes many companies in different industries span to improve their computer network and incorporate new technologies as well as securing their information and is going to help me get a higher position for me at where I currently work cuts in

Sincerely, this was all she asked, any opinion on what could be the reason for denial. Thanks
I noticed that you have not received any reviews on this interview experience and I felt I could wade in...

Firstly, are you aware that the CIS program of SEMO is listed on their website as an Online program. Somehow I chanced to be in the know.

Secondly, you gave an uninspiring response on the reason for your chosen Course. Your response shows no clear vision and consistency. You must improve on this question if you ever plan to refire .

Finally, I'd advice you don't go back with that school. You may need to write the needed exams and and check out other schools, ensuring also that there's no leak regarding Sponsorship.

Best luck in your future endeavors!
