save the OGONI people from extermination |
superstar1: we will charge you for treason for saying that. ![]() superstar1: we will charge you for treason for saying that.hahaha FG's latest threat. If that will stop the injustice and genocide cause by the pollution of Ogoniland then they should charge for treason. Mandela was On US terrorist list till 2008. Enough of the "our son" slang. Now i understand what Amaechi was lamenting about. |
WHAT HAS FG DONE FOR NIGER DELTA THE OGONI PEOPLE ARE STILL DRINKING BENZENE POLLUTED WATER 2 YEARS AFTER UNEP GAVE JONATHAN A REPORT THEY DESCRIBED AS THE WORST CASE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION THEY HAVE EVER SEEN |
WHAT HAS JONATHAN DONE FOR THE NIGER DELTA? |
Amaechi built 150 world class health centres in less than 6 years and international standard hospitals, 450 model primary schools, songhai farms, trained more than 1000 students abroad, constructed many road, etc. Obi laid the foundation of 10 hospitals. It is not easy. I wish you Anambrarians continuity |
Fortunately for anambra, his style is paying off, especially in education and health sectors. Even the world bank confirmed this recently
did you say Health sector and education? I served in a state school in Ogbaru lga where I taught both Chemistry and maths because of lack of teachers. When i left that school there was no permanent teacher for maths and physics. More than 7 state owned health centres in that lga dont have doctors. |
Every sincere Rivers man. Knows that Amaechi is the best thing that have happened to Rivers state after Ken saro wiwa. No governor has done the much that he has done in 6years. MARK MY WORDS: IF NIGERIA SURVIVES 2015, HE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A HERO. |
DerideGull: Are the Ogoni people willing to pay back all the gains accrued due to crude oil exploration? Nigerians must stop towing the way of sentiments in order to achieve a cheap political point. United Nation is not part of Nigeria and one wonders where the idiotic United Nation stood when Bakassi was ceded to Cameroon.this is an inhuman post. OGONI gained virtually nothing from SHELL AND THE FG during the 30 years of oil exploration. Read history or google Ogoni or visit Ogoni to understand the marginalisation of this tribe. This is not a matter of sentiment. People are dying. Water in some villages have more than 900 times normal level of benzene which causes cancer. Let us have conscience |
I still dont know why GEJ is insensitive to the plight of the Ogoni people. He should please start the clean up of their land. The pollution has rendered there farms and rivers useless thus causing untold hardship to the people. If 300000 ogoni people protested in the military era then the FG should expect a mega protest that will be covered by international media. Ogoni are supported by the UNITED NATIONS. |
Despite stiff resistance by the army, the resilient people of Ogoni nation staged a peaceful protest today to demand the implementation of the UNEP report by the FG. |
AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE 09/12/13 My dear young people, Let us turn our gaze to what St. Paul says to the Thessalonians, in his first letter: "test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it" (1 Thess. 5:21-24). Do not be afraid when temptations come. Do not get scared when your emotions seem to overwhelm you. Do not despair when it seems you are alone in the Christian struggle. Listen to what St. Paul says to you, yes! YOU, in his first letter to the Corinthians: "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Cor. 10:13). Keep up the struggle. You are not alone. You will never be. Sincerely yours in Christ, Rev. Fr. Kevin Oselumhense Anetor. |
One of the most beloved leaders of the 20th century, Nelson Mandela died Thursday at the age of 95. Mandela, who inherited a country on the verge of civil war and torn apart by racial violence, will forever be remembered for bringing hope and reconciliation to South Africa. Controversial for much of his life, he ultimately became a beacon of optimism for people both at home and around the world. The iconic leader -- known for his charismatic personality, soft-yet-stirring speeches and charitable work post-politics -- spent 27 years behind bars for opposing white rule in his country before becoming South Africa’s first black president in 1994. Photos 18_Nelson_Mandela_04244809.jpg Former South African President Nelson Mandela leaves the chapel after attending the funeral of his great-granddaughter Zenani Mandela in Johannesburg, South Africa on June 17, 2010. (AP / Siphiwe Sibeko) 16_Nelson_Mandela_03073018.jpg Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton meets privately with former South Africa President Nelson Mandela, 94, and his wife Graca Machel at his home in Qunu, South Africa on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012. (AP / Jacquelyn Martin) 17_Nelson_Mandela_9031003.jpg Former South African President Nelson Mandela, centre, with his wife Graca Machel at World Cup final soccer match between the Netherlands and Spain at Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday, July 11, 2010. (AP / Luca Bruno) Mandela became increasingly frail in recent years and was hospitalized several times in the past few months, receiving treatment for pneumonia, an ongoing lung infection and gallstones. Though he served only five years in office, Mandela is recognized the world over, often seen as someone with great dignity and moral authority. While he sought a quiet family life in retirement, he continued to meet with notable dignitaries and celebrities, weigh in international affairs and conflicts, and champion causes in which he believed, including poverty and HIV/AIDS. At age 85 and amid failing health, he was forced to announce he was “retiring from retirement,” in 2004, retreating from the spotlight as much as possible. His last major public appearance was in 2010, when South Africa hosted the World Cup of Soccer. He was greeted by thunderous applause but made no speech. Known for his unyielding optimism, Mandela leaves behind a lasting legacy -- with countless parks, schools and squares named in his honour. His birthday is a public holiday in South Africa, where Mandela is affectionately known by his clan name, Madiba. Mandela’s life behind bars, in power For too long known as a political martyr, Mandela was sentenced to life in prison in the 1960s for trying to overthrow the pro-apartheid government. He served 27 years of hard labour, mostly at Robben Island, looking forward to his only perk -- a 30-minute session with a visitor once a year. While in jail, Mandela unified the prisoners, foreshadowing the leadership skills he would use when he became the country’s first fully-representative democratically elected president. His release on Feb. 11, 1990 was brought about in part by heavy economic sanctions imposed on South Africa by dozens of countries, including Canada. As the world watched on television, Mandela walked confidently toward the prison gates, his wife Winnie at his side. A huge throng of reporters and thousands of supporters wait to greet him, a scene he later described as "a happy, if slightly disorienting chaos." His next gesture would forever symbolize his struggle. "I raised my right fist and there was a roar," Mandela recalled. RIP NELSON MANDELA |
The FG does not care about Ogoni. I miss Yaradua. He may have remembered us. |
luvinhubby: Why borrow to fund an essential need that you can comfortably afford. All things are lawful but not all things are expedient.OUR POLITICIANS PREFER TO BORROW....IT DID NOT START WITH AMAECHI. LAST WEEK FG BORROWED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM INDIA TO ELECTRIFY 3 STATES. FG IS STILL YET TO EXPLAIN HOW5BILLION DOLLAR{NOT NAIRA} GOT MISSING FROM OUR EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT. MY GOVERNOR MAY NOT BE PERFECT BUT HE IS AMONG THE BEST IN NIGERIA IN TERMS OF INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT. |
luvinhubby: Dubai did their`s in 3 yrs, I was there when it started and finished.MY FRIEND TERRAIN IS DIFFERENT. CONSTRUCTION WORKS ARE PUT ON A HALT DURING RAINY SEASON ELSE IT WILL AMOUNT TO A COLLOSAL LOSS. JUST BE PATIENT AND AMAECHI WILL SOON GIVE YOU REASONS TO UNDERSTAND HOW HE SPENT OUR MONEY....PROJECTS ARE GOING ON. MORE PROJECTS WILL GUARANTEE MORE VOTES FOR HIS APC CANDIDATE. HE DOESNT HAVE AN OPTION. FG AND ALL OTHER STATES BORROW MONEY AT ONE TIME OR THE OTHER SO IT IS OUR RIGHT. IF FG DECIDES NOT TO GIVE RS. THEN IT IS UNJUST. |
NICE WORK Abagworo, ikp4succes, Akainzo and Symphony007. IT IS SAD THAT AN ACHIEVER LIKE AMAECHI IS BEEN UNJUSTLY INSULTED BY PEOPLE WHO CANNOT EVEN LEAD A WARD. |
RSSDA SCHOLARSHIP HAS GIVEN SCHOLARSHIPS TO MORE THAN 1000 RIVERS PEOPLE THANKS TO CRA. TALK ABOUT YOUR STATE AND LEAVE AMAECHI ALONE http://www.rssdangscholars.org/hcd/scholar.asp?id=scholar THE FG IS UNJUSTLY VICTIMIZING RIVERS STATE. SO MANY OTHERS THAT I CANNOT MENTION HERE IF YOU WANT A COMPREHENSIVE LIST/ 2013 YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO GO THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE RIVERS STATE(FREEDOM OF INFORMATION BILL) |

Bright2: Those making much noise about development in Rivers state don't know the state very well but if you are from or reside in Rivers state, please try & visit these roads listed below & bring us your report with pictures:Rumuokoro to Nkpolu,Eliowhani to Rumunduru,Rumunduru to Eneka,Eneka to Rukpokwu.Elelewo road from oil mill & see how your vehicle will throw you at all dimension of your car, visit Woji to YKC & see the traffic jam there, visit Oyigbo & see if not for shell, oyigbo express to Mbano Junction was something else that vehicle has to divert & pass through police station to join oyigbo market but shell has put that road in order while 250b has been received by the state government ,Mbano Junction to Iriebe( Oyigbo west ) has been left behind. Also visit Captain Elechi Amadi road to Igwuruta which has raised lots of praises while we are still waiting for it completion, also visit Igbo Etche road, visit Rumuewhara through Elimgbu to Eliozu & ask your self are these people not from Rivers state also? Now the issue of clean water has erupted in a state where you can get water 60ft bellow the ground not too deep atall of which people outside the state believed Rivers state has grown beyond this level & yet we are not,for your information 70% of Rivers residence has there own water facilities in there compound so that water project for now may be useless!Let me not mention of employment as we all must not be teachers, people are trooping into the state believing employment is every where in the state as that was just a mare agitation. People don't complain much in Rivers state because this is a state God has blessed in such that every little thing you do worth cash. If not the little crises in the state before now some residence in the state don't even know the name of the Governor of the state & they don't care because God has blessed them individually.Let me not blame Ameachi as people instigate that Peter Odili the formal Governor which Amaechi was by his side didn't perform much but Rivers state deserved more than what we see with that amount received so far! Let us not pretend of these fact because we needed praises or support, all is not well. Here i rest my case.IN BORI, GOKANA, ELELE, VILLAGES IN ETCHE, IKWERRE ETC THERE ARE SO MANY INTERNAL ROADS THAT HE HAS DONE. HE ALSO PROMISED TO FIX SOME OF THE ROADS YOU MENTIONED. CHANNEL SOME OF THIS COMPLAINTS TO YOUR LGA CHAIRMAN AND REP IN THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY. NO GOVERNOR CAN DO EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME. IN 6 YEARS AMAECHI HAS DONE MORE THAN WHAT ODILI DID IN 8YEARS. THE WATER ISSUE IS OUR RIGHT. OTHER STATES ARE GIVEN LOANs SO WE SHOULD ALSO BE GIVEN. UN SAYS IT IS WORST EVER OIL POLLUTION IN THE WORLD AND THE WATER IN SOME AREAS HAS MORE THAN 900 TIME NORMAL LEVEL OF BENZENE WHICH CAUSES CANCER. BUT 2YEARS AFTER THE REPORT JONATHAN HAS DONE NOTHING. MY PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING. EVEN THE LOAN THAT THE WORLD BANK APPROVED FOR RIVERS STATE WATER PROJECT HAS BEEN SEIZED BY THE FINANCE MINISTER AND OUR GOVERNOR IS BEEN CRITICIZED FOR CALLING FOR A PROBE. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/04/us-nigeria-ogoniland-idUSTRE7734MQ20110804 Primary Health Care Facilities PROJECTS FROM OCTOBER, 2007 TO MAY, 2013 S/N Model LGA Contractor Status 1. NO RIVERS GOVERNOR HAS DONE HALF OF WHAT AMAECHI DID FOR RIVERS STATE IN THE PAST SIX YEAR EVEN WIKE, ODILI, SEKIBO AND EVERY RIVERS MAN KNOWS IT. PAY A VISIT TO THE VILLAGES IN RIVERS STATE AND CHECK HIS PROJECTS. DONT JUST HATE HIM BECAUSE HE IS ASKING FOR MORE FG PRESENCE IN OUR STATE. I SERVED IN ANAMBRA STATE AND THERE ARE FG WATER PROJECTS IN SOME AREAS. RIVERS STATE DESERVES THAT LOAN. IT IS OUR RIGHT. WE CAN NOT BE COWARDS BECAUSE OUR SON IS PRESIDENT. I CANNOT POINT TO ANY SINGLE PROJECT THE FG HAS DONE IN RIVERS STATE. IF OUR SON CANNOT HELP US NOW WHEN WILL HE? UN SAYS IT IS WORST EVER OIL POLLUTION IN THE WORLD AND THE WATER IN SOME AREAS HAS MORE THAN 900 TIME NORMAL LEVEL OF BENZENE WHICH CAUSES CANCER.
