The rift in the Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC, seem to be getting worse as the party described senator Shehu Sani, as a man without “sense of shame”.

Salisu Wusono, acting publicity secretary of the party in Kaduna, said this in response to Sani’s earlier statement on his suspension.

Sani had alleged that Nasir el-Rufai, governor of the state, had hijacked the party, and was using it to fight him.

But denying the allegation Wusono accused Sani of representing the politics of “fraud and deceit”.

“As if determined to prove that he is beyond redemption, Shehu Sani penned a pathetic response to his continued suspension from our party that testifies that he is a denizen of the gutter,” he said.

“Anyone that harboured any doubt about the morass in his mind and the decadence of his conduct would now have those uncertainties wiped away. Crassness of language is a twin to crass of conduct.

“His outburst is a confirmation, that he has no sense of shame.

“He is a man full of tantrums, a busker who simultaneously entertains and distresses people with his shameless antics.

“He has since lost focus and why he was elected to the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the good people of Kaduna central under the banner of the APC.

“He represents fraud, deceit in the name of Nigeria’s masses. We suspended him indefinitely following his various anti-party activities and utterances aimed at tearing the party to pieces.

“The masses of Kaduna central have since unravelled his deceit. His heart and mind are in the PDP whose agent he has been in our party. We wonder when he would gather the courage to publicly move to the party he hobnobs with in private.”

The FCT command of the Nigerian police on Monday said it rescued 10 persons kidnapped by a gang of hoodlums in Darka village in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

Those rescued are Fanus Emmanuel, Babangida Emmanuel, Akimmi Dauda, Japheth Kwasu, Dorcas Shuaibu, Kemuche IK, Hamza Yunusa, Umar Godiri, Ismaila Yusuf and Abubakar Gomo.

The Command’s Spokesman, ASP Anjugurin Manzah, in a statement disclosed that eight of the victims were rescued on Nov. 19, while the remaining two were rescued on Nov. 20 in Toto and Karu in Nasarawa State.
Manzah noted that the rescue was made possible by a joint operation by the Police Mobile Force Operatives of the command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad, DSS, Nigerian Army and NSCDC.

The spokesman stated that the stronghold of the assailants who specialised in raiding remote villages at night and robbing the villagers of cash and other valuables and kidnapping was destroyed during the operation.

He added that an operative of the NSCDC, ASC Anumudu Uche, who took ill, died during the operation.

He recalled that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Muhammadu Mustafa, had reassured residents and affected villages of the command’s massive deployment to forestall a recurrence.

He said concerted efforts were in place to arrest the dislodged hoodlums.

The grudge between between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai seems to be messier as a chieftain of the APC in Kaduna State, Yusuf Ali (Rabagardama), has described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a betrayer who would always betray his benefactors in order to achieve his personal ambition.

Yusuf Ali further blamed the Turakin Adamawa for “spreading falsehood” against the Kaduna state governor, insisting that El-Rufai was a better politician than he is.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja, Ali, a former presidential candidate insisted that Atiku is the architect of his own misfortune, having repeatedly betraying his benefactors like Senator Jibril Aminu and Former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ali said: “It’s a pity that Atiku thinks every politician is like him. He thought the way he betrayed Senator Aminu and clinched the vice-presidency or how he almost pulled the rug from under the feet of Obasanjo in his insatiable desire to become Nigeria’s president was politicking.

“On the contrary, Atiku’s politics is built on deceit and betrayal. Whenever he is entrusted with responsibility, he betrays his benefactor and that has been his political philosophy.
“How much was Atiku worth before he became VP and what is his worth after office. The difference is clear. He is a politician who came to service himself and not serve the people.

“Jibril Aminu entrusted him to mobilize support for the professor in his campaign to become vice-president to Obasanjo but what happened? Atiku ended up campaigning for himself to become VP and the rest is history”

He added that Atiku’s politics has been tainted with questionable wealth and that in an era where transparency and accountability are the hallmark, “Atiku cannot stand any chance in his quest to lead the country”.

Plateau state Governor Solomon Lalong who also doubles as the chairman, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship Campaign in Ondo State, has declared that the absence of one of the party’s national leaders, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and some Southwest governors at the party’s mega rally in Akure on Saturday did not make any difference.

He asserted that there was no cause for alarm since President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, were present at the rally.

Recall that Tinubu and Governors Rauf Aregbesola, Abiola Ajimobi and Akinwunmi Ambode of Osun, Oyo and Lagos states respectively were conspicuously absent at the grand rally of the APC held at the Democracy Park in Akure on Saturday for its flag bearer in November 26 governorship poll.

But addressing State House correspondents on Monday shortly after he and the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, met Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Lalong stated that the absence of the party bigwigs was not a problem to the party.

His words, “That (their absence) was not a problem. We explained their absence. They sent in their apologies. You heard what happened there.

“As far as we are concerned, the President who is the leader of the party was at the rally. The national chairman was also there. As far as we are concerned, everybody was there.

“To the party, their absence did not make any difference. If a leader was not there and he has said he was not there because of ill-health, we have prayed that God will heal him.”

The APC Governorship Campaign Chairman went on to express optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the election billed to hold this Saturday.

Not less than 11 Boko Haram fighters have been reportedly killed in a major clash between the sect and troops of Nigeria’s 103 battalion on Saturday, November 19.

The troops, according Premium Times, destroyed a market and camp operated by sect in Yale, northern Borno and wounded many of the terrorists.

The troops recovered arms, ammunition and other equipment in the incident that reportedly occurred about eight kilometres south of Bama and 12 kilometres south-west of Dikwa.

The report said officers of the 103 battalion were assisted by those from 21 Brigade, 202 Battalion, the 151 Task Force Battalion and a detachment of the civilian-JTF on the confrontation.

Accordingly, the soldiers were said to have stormed the market at about 7.30 am and suddenly opened fire on the suspected terrorists.

The troops destroyed all the structures found at the camp while some suspects were shot dead and others escaped with injuries.

But as troops withdrew from battle unhurt, Boko Haram elements staged a surprise ambush attack, which was also successfully repelled.
Some of the items recovered by the troops include 11 motorcycles, 400 bicycles, bags of grains, some AK47 rifles, magazines, binoculars, army rain boots, telephone handsets, cameras and strip wires.

Earlier, soldiers of the 119 Task Force Battalion were said to have killed some Boko Haram fighters who attacked troops’ location in Kangarwa, northern Borno.

Nine soldiers were reportedly attacked in the confrontation while a patrol team from Baga, which went to evacuate the affected officers, was also ambushed, but they repelled the attack.

The army had not issued any statement at the time of this report.

The Buhari led federal government of Nigeria has begin to fulfill its promise on employing 500,000 Nigerian youths by starting with 200,000.

While the 200,000 were selected about two weeks ago, their names have now been sent to state governments and the FCT, who will deploy them to their specific program assignments.

The names will also be published this week on the N-Power internet portal, while the participants will start receiving SMS messages informing them of their selection as from Monday November 21, 2016.

State governments and the FCT are also encouraged to post the names of the successful first batch applicants in their local government areas while there would be further public announcements.

Between now and the end of the month, the states and the FCT would be engaged in deploying the graduates who would formally start working and earning their stipends on December 1, 2016.

Of the 200,000 in the first batch, 150,000 will teach, 30,000 will work in the agricultural sector and 20,000 in healthcare delivery, covering the three specific program assignments.

The N-Power Volunteer Corps is an expression of President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to invest in the human capital development of Nigerian citizens, particularly our young people.

The N-Power program is also an innovative means to enhance ailing public services in the area of basic education and primary healthcare. In the agricultural sector, it is aimed at achieving self-sufficiency by giving our farmers relevant advisory services.

The Federal Government of Nigeria hereby congratulates all 200,000 successful applicants in the first batch, and they are encouraged to take this opportunity seriously by learning the skills that will brighten their future. They are also implored to serve their communities with commitment and dedication.

For those who have not been selected at this time, there is a waiting list based on the total number of applicants, and subsequent batches will absorb more of the qualified applicants.

All together, the N-Power will engage and train 500,000 young unemployed graduates. It is a paid volunteering program of a 2-year duration that engages graduates in their immediate communities, where they will assist in improving the inadequacies in the education, health, and agriculture sectors.

The 500,000 graduates under the N-Power Corps program will be trained in skills that will enable them exit after two years to economically viable job and business opportunities.

As part of the program, the participants will own tablets that will contain information necessary for their specific engagements, as well as information for their continuous training and developments.

Participants will be provided teaching, instructional, and advisory solutions in 4 main focus areas, and will be paid a monthly stipend of N30,000 during the program. The 4 main focus areas are in basic education, agriculture extension services, public health and community education (civic and adult education).

Besides the N-Power program for undergraduates, there are other schemes for non-graduates. These are: N-Power Knowledge, which would select 25,000 young Nigerians and N-Power Build 75,000, all of whom shall be trained and paid during the duration of the scheme.

Reports that national leader of the All Progessives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu is planning to float a new political party may be true afterall as he shunned the party’s campaign rally in Ondo state.

According to The Punch, Tinubu as well as Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Rauf Aregbesola and Abiola Ajimobi of Lagos, Osun and Oyo states respectively, were not at the rally in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari and some other governors on the platform of the APC were present at the mega rally as APC seeks to wrestle the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which has Jimoh Ibrahim as the leading candidate.

Although the real reason for the governors’ absence could not be ascertained as at press time, there are rumours that they may have refused to attend based on their loyalty to the national leader, on whose back they rode to take power in their respective states.

Rochas Okorocha, the chairman of the APC governors’ forum, however, informed those present at the gathering that, regardless of the absence of the other governors, they were all standing behind Rotimi Akeredolu, the party’s flagbearer in the November 26 election in Ondo.

“Ondo State must join the progressives states in Nigeria, therefore we must vote for him and he will win the election. Akeredolu rejected federal appointments because he loves you people. He wants to serve you, so vote for him,” he was quoted to have said.

Minister of Sport and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung yesterday made a shocking remark about Nigeria’s participation in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Dalung stunned everyone in his interview with the Voice of America when he said that Nigeria is too poor to participate in the World Cup.

He was quoted as saying the nation was too poor to waste money on the World Cup and that Nigeria would never win.

The sports minister also made several damning allegations against the world football governing body, FIFA.

Dalung cited bribery, favouritism and corruption within FIFA as reasons why he opposed Nigeria participating in the tournament.

Sports Minister Dalung told VOA:

“That competition stinks of corruption; that Nigeria is too poor to waste money on it and that Nigeria would never win the trophy.

“The cup that we can win is the African Cup of Nations.

“There is nothing again that will take us to another man’s balcony in the name of the World Cup.

“We already have the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. For these, we can attend such meets.

“But I am opposed to the World Cup. We don’t agree to it. Conspiracy in the World Cup is too much.”

Dalung further alleged that the new FIFA President Gianni Infantino is “rubbing honey on our lips”.

He said:

“There is the issue of bribery and favoritism. There is also the issue of corruption before you are even given the hosting rights.

“We are here suffering from hunger and we don’t have money for such things.

“That is why, even if we try many times, once it gets into the politics of the game, we can never win.

“That was why this year, we had to tackle him (FIFA President) and we said, ‘you , Infantino, if you win this election, you have to give us a position.

“If not, we shall not agree.’ And you see , by the grace of God, he even picked an African as his Secretary-General.

“That means he has started taking honey and rubbing on our lips.

That means that one day, we shall get to really lick the honey.”

Dalung’s comments show his complete lack of knowledge on sports issues and have elicited several backlash and outrage on social media calling for his immediate removal.

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, who was the Chief Security Officer of former military head of state, Gen. Sani Abacha, on Friday in Enugu, said he had no regrets over his actions and subsequent travails.

Al-Mustapha was arrested and tried for the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, wife of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Moshood Abiola, following Abacha’s death in 1998. On January 30, 2012, he was convicted by a Lagos High Court and sentenced to death by hanging.

However, reprieve came his way when he was discharged and acquitted of the crime by the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal on July 12, 2013.

Speaking as a guest lecturer during the closing ceremony of the ‘Press Week’ of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Enugu State Chapter, Al-Mustapha said he did not regret anything that happened.

Responding to a question from a member of the audience, he said, “What I went through from 1998 to 2002 was nothing compared to what I went through from 2002 to 2015.

“While I was in service, I stood by my oath to serve and defend my country. I don’t have any regrets. Regret does not exist in my life. In the absence of pain there is no gain so it is all experience. I thank God for everything. Also, I don’t have any regrets for not exploiting my position to enrich myself – it is better for me to suffer than to destroy Nigeria.”

In the lecture entitled: ‘Herdsmen menace in Nigeria: The way forward’, Al-Mustapha blamed politicians for the upsurge in herdsmen attacks across the country.

He said politicians were to blame for the sophisticated weapons in the hands of the herdsmen, noting that in many instances, political thugs masquerade as cattle herdsmen to attack farmers.

“Political thuggery over the years has led to arms in wrong hands. It has been established that most of the clashes between herdsmen and farmers usually occur after elections, because the thugs are no longer active, and having been armed already, they commit crimes which are blamed on herdsmen.”

Al-Mustapha described Nigeria’s political leaders as ‘termites’. According to him, they have eaten up the country.

“Nigeria is not a patriotic country – Nigeria’s leaders are like termites. They eat and eat until the fabric of the wood is gone; they eat everything until the inside becomes empty.

“When you look at them they are the same termites they were yesterday,” he said.

The Nigerian Army has arrested no less than 37 suspected Boko Haram terrorists in Lagos and Ogun States within the last 15 months.

The outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Maj.-Gen. Isidore Edet, disclosed this in Lagos while handing over to his successor, Maj.-Gen. Ebenezer Oyefolu.

Edet said the Division, under his watch, arrested the terrorists in different parts of the two states.


“As Boko Haram is being defeated, the terrorists run to other parts of the country.

“From the period I took over in August 2015 till date, we arrested 37 Boko Haram suspects.

“We will continue to arrest them and hand them over to the appropriate authorities,’’ he said.


Edet said his most challenging moment as GOC 81 Division was the abduction of three of his operatives by militants in Ijagemo Area of Lagos.


“I had to work round-the-clock to secure their release,’’ he said.

On pipeline vandals at Arepo area of Ikorodu, the outgone GOC said the Army worked collaboratively and cooperatively with other security agencies to rout the vandals from the area.

In his remark, the new GOC, Maj.-Gen. Oyefolu, said he would key into the successes of his predecessor to move the Division forward.

Until his appointment as GOC 81 Division, Oyefolu was the Deputy Director at Defence Intelligence Agency, Abuja.

A war might be looming in Delta State as the members of Ighele-Urhobo (Youth Wing of Urhobo) Udu Local Government Chapter today gave all Ijaw indigenes resident in Udu land fourteen days to vacate their land including, Aladja community.

The ultimatum is based on the recent attacks by the Ogbe-Ijoh and Isaba communities where some persons were killed with others still being held hostage.

Chairman of Ighele-Urhobo in Udu, Comrade Sunday Subi handed down the ultimatum to the Ijaws on behalf of Urhobo youths at Aladja when the President General Of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU WorldWide stormed Aladja community for on-the-spot assessment of the troubled Aladja Community.

Comrade Subi reiterated that the brewing communal war between Aladja and Isaba /Ogbe-Ijoh communities concerns even Udu and the entire Urhobo nation.

He warned that within the fourteen-day ultimatum, the Ijaws should release all kidnapped Urhobo indigenes just as he called on Urhobo sons and daughters in Ijawland to return back home.

In his words, “Urhobo and Udu are ready to fight for Aladja. Pass this message to Aladja people. Okowa act now or Udu shall act. We give
all Ijaws within Udu land 14 days to leave our land. The youths will go round announcing that soon. Ijaws must release those kidnapped and Urhobos in Ijaw land should come back home.”

Mr. Fani-Kayode was on Friday arrested by operatives of the anti-graft body as he left the Federal High Court premises in Lagos.

Fani-Kayode, who was in court for his trial over an alleged fraud of ‎N4.9bn, was re-arrested shortly after he stepped out of the court premises.

He was the Director of Publicity for former President Goodluck Jonathan and PDP’s campaign Organisation before the general election of 2015.

Top gospel actors, Mike and Gloria Bamiloye who got married October 8, 1988 celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary yesterday.Pastor Mike Bamiloye shared this exceptional message on his Facebook wall in honor of their anniversary.

“A marriage born out of raw faith in the Lord alone. We were two years into full time drama ministry when we married on this day 28 years ago. I had spent all the money I had on ministry matters and I had no more money.

TODAY I REMEMBER THAT IT WAS JUST MAY, THIS YEAR, WE GOT OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE FROM A REGISTRY IN IBADAN.

So we married without a Government marriage Certificate. WHY?
We both went to Ilesha registry to file for the Marriage Certificate when it was two months to our wedding, but we did not have the money to pay for the Registration. We were to pay about N120 or so, but we did not have the money. So we told the registry we would come back and we never went back, because we did not have the money. therefore, it was the Church Certificate only we had until May this year, when it was demanded at an embassy for Visa.

Then, I searched the house and came up the Church Marriage Certificate, and I then remember that the Visa Officer would not accept that. So, I went to a Registry in Ibadan and secure OUR GOVERNMENT MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE after 28 years.

The Marriage was born out of deep faith.
I remember it was my Best Man who bought my Wedding Suit and shirt. May God bless him wherever he is now. It was my Sister-in-Law who bought the shoes i wore on my wedding day. It was a ministry member who gave us money to sew the Wedding Gown, because we had already gone to a place where we could rent the Wedding Gown. It was the money my Sister-in-Law sent to us I used to deposit for the seats in our living room. May the Lord bless Sister Taye, my sister-in-law.

It was my Mama-Sister, (my elder sister) who got the 3-Room-Flat we married into. she paid the first year rent. May the Lord ever blessed MUMMY Felicia Adesiyan. It was my another elder sister who got the Boys Bridgade that played for us as we were driving into the Reception place at Ilesha Grammar School, in a car that belonged to one of my Cousins.

I remember all the monetary gift given to us on the Wedding Day were used to pay some outstanding debts incurred on ministry printings we made before the wedding and some debts on the wedding programs. So three days after the Wedding, we had no money again and the idea of Honey-Moon never even crossed our mind, because there was no money to attempt such luxury.

I REMEMBER, that the following Saturday, our ministry had a drama ministration in Ilesha, at the Advertisers for Jesus Christ, Ishokun, Ilesha. That was a week after our Wedding Day. AND GLORIA OLUSOLA AND I HAD TO STAND BESIDE THE ROAD LOOKING FOR A LIFT THAT COULD CARRY US TO ILESHA.

There was absolutely no money on us, a week after our wedding, to go to our next drama ministration. So, I had to walk to my Elder Sister’s house, to ask her for money to travel. She gave us enough money. God bless Mummy Adesiyan. We travelled to Ilesha and met the brethren waiting for us at the venue of Ministration of our first outreach after wedding. That was then…..28 Years Ago.
OUR MARRIAGE WAS BORN OUT OF DEEP-ROOTED FAITH….

But today….the Lord has been Faithful.
Today…the Lord has been wonderful to us.
The Marriage has been fruitful and Productive.
BUT THE JOURNEY OF FAITH HAS NOT STOPPED SINCE THEN.
THE MARRIAGE THAT WAS BORN OUT OF FAITH…HAS CONTINUED TO GROW BY FAITH….

WE HAD ALL OUR CHILDREN IN FAITH….
THEY GREW UP AND WENT TO SCHOOLS IN FAITH….
THEY GRADUATED FROM UNIVERSITIES IN FAITH…..
AND THEY ARE ON FULL TIME TOGETHER WITH US IN FAITH…..
ALL THE GLORY BELONG TO JESUS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, OUR REDEEMER.

Governor Nyesome Wike in the early hours of today, October 7, 2016 stopped an alleged attempt by men of the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Police to abduct a Judge at his number 35/84 B residence, Forces Avenue, Port Harcourt, TheNews.NG has gathered

The failed alleged abduction was led by Mr Tosin Ajayi, Rivers state director of the DSS and Rivers state Police Commissioner, Mr Francis Odesanya.

According sources at the scene, the security operatives blocked the entrance of the residence of the Federal High Court judge at about 1am on Saturday morning, claiming that they were acting on orders from above.

However, addressing journalists, Rivers state police commissioner, Francis Odesanya said the two security agencies were at the scene because they received privileged information.


Odesanya claimed he was at the scene as a peace maker. He declined comments on why the Police joined the DSS to abduct a serving Federal High Court judge.

In an interview with journalists at the scene of the failed illegal abduction of a Federal High Court judge by the Police and DSS, Governor Wike said it will not be under his watch that security agencies wiĺl be allowed to entrench needless impunity.

He declared that their reckless action portends danger to the nation’s democracy, noting that he is convinced that President Buhari is not aware of the level of impunity being perpetrated by Federal Securiy agencies.

Governor Wike stated that whatever the situation, the rule of law must prevail in a democratic setting.

He said if the security agencies had a lawful directive to implement, they must follow due process .

According to him: “Not under my watch wiĺl I allow this kind of impunity to take place. That is why we are here. I don’t know which judge they were detailed to abduct. I didn’t bother myself to know which judge. All I am interested in is that, at this level, it is not allowed.

“He is not a criminal and he is not an armed robber. If the person has committed an offence, invite him. It is only when he refuses to honour the invitation that you can adopt this commando style.

“The Commissioner of Police is here, the Director of DSS is here. Their operatives cocked their guns and threatened to shoot me. I have never seen that before. Again , this is to tell you what we are facing . We know that more will come. For us in this state, we shall continue to resist it.”

Governor Wike added: “It doesn’t matter what it will cost. When you talk about liberty, sacrifices must be made. We are not trying to stop an arrest. All we are saying is that things must be done decently and in line with the rule of law.

“Rivers State is under siege. For you to see a governor out at this time of the day, something is wrong. A siege is an understatement. If this type of thing happens next time, the people wiĺl resist it to the last”.

The governor stressed: “They are trying to do something funny in this state, probably to declare a state of emergency.
