Tolanibaj and Ka3na clashed over food in the Big Brother Naija house today July 28.

The faceoff ensued after Ka3na began serving some of the housemates food she cooked. Tolanibaj who already had noodles and egg, approached Ka3na for food but got told to wait for other housemates who have not eaten to get served.

This led to a round of name calling as Tolanibaj insisted that Ka3na spoke to her disrespectfully.

Tolulope died after a road accident in Kaduna State on Tuesday.

Her death was announced by the Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday.

It said, “It is with great sorrow that the @NigAirForce regretfully announces the unfortunate demise of Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile, who died on 14 July 2020,as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at NAF Base Kaduna.

“Until her death, Fg Offr Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in Sept 2017 as a member of @HQ_NDA RC 64, was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the Service.

“During her short but impactful stay in the Service, late Arotile, contributed significantly to the efforts to rid the North Central States of armed bandits and other criminal elements by flying several combat missions under Operation GAMA AIKI in Minna, Niger State.

“On behalf officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff of the NAF, commiserates with the family of late Flying Officer Arotile over this irreparable loss.”

NAF prayed that the Almighty God grants her soul eternal rest.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has demanded an apology from The Nation Newspaper over an article published on Sunday, July 12, 2020, describing him as one of the sources used to siphon money for suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

Falana was accused of collecting N28m through one Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, a bureau de change operator on behalf of Magu.

In a letter dated July 12, 2020 written by his lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), addressed to the management of the newspaper, Falana demanded an apology, which must be published on the front page within 48 hours.

The letter reads, "The publication and imputations it conveyed is damning.

"It is particularly damning against my client because his entire career as a lawyer has been devoted to fighting human rights abuses and corruption in high and low places (among the many public causes he has become noted for).

"So, to charge such a person with the imputations in your publication is not something that he can (in fairness to himself and the reputation he has worked for all his life) ignore despite that he is also a well-known advocate and defender of press freedom."

Fusika said his client had been a supporter and public advocate of the EFCC and indeed all agencies set-up to rescue the country and its downtrodden masses from the noose of corruption.

"It is noteworthy that no attempt was made by you to contact and request my client to react to the allegation before publishing and circulating it to your worldwide readers.

"The impression my client gets from this is that you were well aware that you were publishing a planted story, hence there was no desire or need on your part to seek and balance it with my client’s reaction.

"This speaks volume as to your professionalism, as well as your malicious intent," the letter added, stating further that the matter will be taken to court if the demands were not met within the stipulated time.

A Nigerian woman in Kaduna State, Yemi Awolola, has brutalised a 14-year-old girl with a hot knife and gas lighter in her genital area and is accused of serially abusing her for many months.

Her victim, Princess, who is now in a critical condition at Harmony Hospital in Kaduna, was put in her care after she assured the girl’s financially unstable family that she will enroll her in school.

Source gathered that the father of the victim took his daughter to Mrs Awolola’s house in Barnawa Kaduna in June 2019.

Trouble started in December 2019 when Awolola called the victim's father and alleged that the 14-year-old girl was stealing from her.

“He expressed concern because Princess was not known for stealing at home. He asked what she was stealing and the madam said “stuff”. He then asked if she had ever stolen money, and the madam said no.

"So, he told the madam to bring his daughter back to him but she declined and instead asked for his account number, which he sent to her and she sent him N10,000. She reiterated to him that the money was not because Princess was staying with her but she usually give out donations during Christmas,” a social worker familiar with the situation said.

Unsettled by the development combined with his inability to speak to his daughter many weeks after that despite his insistence, Princess’ father sent his wife to go and retrieve their daughter back to their village in Kuturah, Kajuru Local Government Area.

On getting to Awolola’s house in Barnawa area of Kaduna State, Princess' mother was refused entry and denied access to see her daughter.

The mother however, persisted after which she was shown her daughter from a distance but was not allowed to touch or speak to.

“She was asked to also drop the chicken and grain she brought as a gift with the security men at Mrs Awolola’s gate,” the source added.

This left Princess’ family worried, causing them to repeatedly call Awolola to return their daughter.

“The madam kept telling him she was in Abuja. So, the family gave an ultimatum to have their daughter back by 6pm last Wednesday or they would call the police.

“The girl was brought to them on Wednesday at 6pm in Sabo area of Kaduna State and it was then the family realised what their daughter had been going through. She had scars on her face after Awolola burnt it with a hot knife. She had burn wounds in her genital area from when the woman's two children, Nifemi and Tito, held the girl's leg while the madam used lighter to burn her vagina and buttocks,” she said.

Recounting her traumatic ordeal, Princess in an interview said, ”She always beats me. She recently called my father to come and take me away and that same day, she ensured that she beat me and I had a big wound.

“Every time she beats me, I have various wounds all over my body. Even if I am not feeling well, she forces me to work not minding that my hands are paining me from the injury she inflicted on them.

“On Monday, she beat me again and then used a hot knife to burn my face. She told her children to hold me down because I was screaming from the pain.

“She continued to press the knife against my face and then moved to my feet and then she left me alone and said I should go and take my bath. After I took my bath, she continued beating me. By then my face and legs were severely swollen.

“She then brought out an ice block from the fridge and started to press it against the sore wounds. She would always beat me like that and prevent my family from seeing me because of the wounds I had.”

Source also gathered that in the 13 months that Princess lived with the Awololas, she was only allowed to go to school for one week after which she was banned when the madam reportedly found a carrot in her bag, which she had taken to school to eat because she was hungry.

She was also beaten mercilessly over the incident.

The police arrested Awolola on Friday while the family of the 14-year-old victim appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to ensure that justice was served in the matter and that their daughter’s abuser was not let off the hook.

The father of 20-year-old Patience Emmanuel, who was abducted by suspected cultists in Bauchi State, has revealed the heartbreaking details of the messages he got from her abductors.

Speaking with journalists on Saturday, Mr Emmanuel Kushi, said his daughter, a 100 level Pharmacology student at the Bauchi State University, Gadau, left the house on Wednesday, June 24, and was abducted on her way home after visiting his younger brother.

Mr Kushi, who is a farmer, disclosed he came back from farm to a message from his daughter’s abductors.

“Father, your daughter is with us ( CONFRETANITY . We don’t need your money what we need is her virginity. Don’t bother looking for her,” the message reads.

The distraught father said he was still trying to comprehend the message in the text when the abductors used his daughter’s phone to send him another text claiming she was dead.

”At exactly 10.25am, they sent me another text message and said ‘she is dead’. We’ve been trying to call her but her number has been switched off. One thing I know is that my daughter is not dead. I believe she will return alive,” he said. .

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ahmed Wakil, said the police are currently investigating the incident.

Reporters has uncovered how police cells in Kaduna State are terribly congested with more than 300 suspects crammed into a single cell.

It was gathered that this was due to the inability of courts to sit following the Coronavirus outbreak.

Top security sources told SaharaReporters that the deplorable situation of police cells in the state had led to the deaths of many suspects in custody.

It was also gathered that the overcrowding was as a result of police refusal to grant bail to suspects after the courts were shut by government.

Findings showed that some of the suspects were transferred from the Criminal Investigation Department while others were dumped into police cells after correctional centers refused to accept them over COVID-19 fears.

SaharaReporters gathered that some of the suspects are sick and in dire need of medical attention.

A source, who pleaded anonymity, said most suspects granted bail were sent back to police stations rather than correctional centres.

He narrated the miserable condition of the suspects in custody and how they were malnourished.

The source also disclosed that the police had secretly buried many suspects, who died custody.

Saharareporters gathered that some concerned citizens have written to the Chief Registrar and Chief Judge of Kaduna State high court, Murtala Zubairu, to notify them about the pitiable situation of the suspects but they had refused to take any action on the matter.

Spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, who spoke to our correspondent, confirmed the congestion of the police cells in the state.

He explained that most of the offences committed by the suspects were not bailable ones.

He added that the command was worried over the development and that something would be done to address the situation next week.

He said, " All the suspects there cannot be released. So, we charged them to court and the correctional centres are no longer accepting convicts into their facility.

"The courts were left with the option to send the suspects back to police custody."
