Yuletide: Gov Eno Approves 13th Month Salary For Akwa Ibom Workers

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved an additional one-month basic salary to be paid to civil servants in December for their Christmas break.

The Akwa Ibom State Government disclosed this on Thursday via its official X account (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

The government wrote: “The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved an additional one-month basic salary to be paid to civil servants in December for their Christmas break.”

The largesse is considered 13th month salary or bonus to enable the civil servants to celebrate the forthcoming yuletide – Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Promotion letters for each Lga is currently being distributed in batches. Very soon, that of your Lga will be disbursed through the LGEA office.

Before the letter gets to you, make sure you get a copy of your Payslip and keep it handy. When you finally receive your Promotion letter, take any of the following steps:

1) If the Grade Level and Step on your Promotion letter is the same with what you have on your Payslip, then you don't have any problem. You're good to go!

2) If the Grade Level and Step on your Promotion letter is lower than what you have on your Payslip, then go to your LGEA office and make an official complain. It will be addressed and you will receive your correct pay by the following month.

3) If the Grade Level and Step on your Promotion letter is higher than what you have on your Payslip, then you need to act carefully. Do one of the following:

a) If the increment is only on your Step but doesn't affect your Grade Level, then just sit down quietly and enjoy the favour. Increment of Step is not a very serious issue. It can be changed back to your real Step or if you're lucky, it can be overlooked.

b) If the increment affects your Grade Level, then that's a very serious problem. Immediately go to your LGEA office and report yourself. By so doing, you will be shown pardon by the Supervising Director and he or she will correct the error or fraud. But if you decide not to go and report yourself and allow the Board or LGEA to find you out, then there's nothing else they can do but to send your details to the Board Chairman. That will be very disastrous.

NLC is just for FG workers, once fg and nlc agrees the state workers are on their own.No nlc at state levels but will always join FG workers on a strike. Nlc strike is useless to state workers because they gain nothing.

News about FAAC can't be secret. State government probably pay us with money from the reserve, or IGR, Knowing fully well that FAAC must surely come.

Hmmmm, make what I heard this afternoon be true ooo. I called someone who works at the Board headquarters, he said that Gov. Sim directed that the steps should be from 6-7 and not 3-4.

He said that arrangements have been concluded for us to receive new salary and even the commissioner for education also reassured them during the meeting held at rumuokwuta school this week.

My own na to update as I hear am, na only my alert go tell me the truth by month end.

I just pray that this is true. This should be the work NUT to pursue, but they're not concerned. There work is to supervise how to cut teachers salaries.

NUT has no business with the teachers, they are there for their pockets. They only fight for the teachers dues to enter pockets, use it to build a Secretariat not known to teachers.

You are correct, I've confirmed from records. The promotion is from level 8 to 10. Considering the range pasted so far on this forum. Highest salary collected is #123k.
For level 12 it should be 140k and above.

Listen carefully. those of you that were under paid please as a matter of urgency proceed to Ministry of finance with your bank statement, ID card (either to room 209 or 217) lay your complain and your case would be sorted out and the arreas of this particular discrepancy would be paid to you in dues course.
Don't go to your schools board as they will tell you to go home that they would do something about it and that ends it but won't do anything.
Do as I said so that you won't end up receiving this error of salary for the rest of this L12.
It happened to me when we started this job newly and that was how I sorted mine speedily and was glad I did.

Rivers state is still on 18k minimum wage, while many are on 40k and above. Major reason for this micro increment even after 3 promotion .

So where will this discrepancies be corrected.

What about arrears of new salary,any information about arrears.

If this is the only thing you rely on, Kindly let people know that you don't have a job and you are in need of a job.
For me I live without telling people that I'm a civil servant,in case if they want to help me. I do any job available to survive with my family.
Beside this job,I'm a driver, a trader, a farmer, a home lesson teacher, a per time teacher and anything good that comes my way.All these I do to survive.
I hardly believe any news or promises from politicians, I take anything they give without disappointment.

The Executive Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board Ven. Fyneface Akah this morning inaugurated the Promotion Letters Committee headed by Dr. Sam Obisike.

Addressing the committee members who also are staff drawn from the Board Headquarters and the Local Government Areas Akah advised them to be committed to the assignment given to them and ensure that they adhere strictly to what they have been instructed to do.

While assuring them of support and an enabling environment to do their work the Board Chairman cautioned against acts or behaviours capable of delaying the job as he would be ready to start signing the promotion letters from tomorrow and gave up to the second week of September 2023 as deadline to conclude the work.

In his speech, chairman of the committee Dr. Sam Obisike assured the chairman of the committee's readiness to deliver appropriately and thanked the Board for chosing them.

Part of the committee's work is to among things look at the date of employment and last promotion as well as grade levels.

Present at the inauguration ceremony this morning were Commissioner Services Dr. Precious Baridoo and Board Directors.

Going by this information, teachers are in for another marrygoround .Kindly drop your hope of getting new salary. I just pray this is not true.

What is the fate of RSSB in all this matter.
