Properties / Re: Abuja - A City Of Empty Houses by Nakarey(m): 3:56pm On Jan 05, 2014
lynpetra: It's really pathetic to listen to the tales of homeless people in Abuja. Some complain bitterly of how scarce it is to get affordable homes here in the heart of the North.Such Irony! As my aunt drove me around this evening,I can't help to notice so many empty duplexes, bungalows, self contains,Block of flats around."Auntie all this houses na who them dey build am for?"I asked.Beautiful empty houses, several still under construction.Greed na bastard! An employed average Nigerian can never afford the price of only a Dog post in these houses!!Infact, who are those building this houses? Why build a house to leave it empty for years because no customer can pay the prize?Isn't it selfish, foolish and inhumanly wicked? Why not make it affordable as it is available? The only reason business isn't booming in Abuja is partly because plenty houses are empty,as a lot of youths live in places like Iyanya,Maraba,Kubwa, and the outskirts of Abuja.

I know our Govt system is made for the rich,we don't mean anything to them.Living in well built houses doesn't fit the average Nigerian. As they loot our money, every seconds of everyday, every minute of every hour, every day of every year, stealing big, dumping it here and there, hiding them by building so many Estates,Shopping Malls,Markets,Blocks of Flats,ALL FOR NOTHING!!!EMPTY AS THE YEARS GOES....They continue to hide this stolen money on properties and lands, some of which are taken by force from indigenes.....

Mmmh...God is watching.Still waiting for that revolution, surely it will come.It can only take time.

*continues to sip Zobo*

Sports / Re: Mikel Winning AFOTY Award Will Be An Insult To African Football by Nakarey(m): 9:23am On Jan 03, 2014
heykims: It is January and very soon , the African footballer of the year 2013 will be named in Lagos Nigeria precisely on the 9th of January. The player to be crowned with this feat should however be very much evaluated and deemed fit to earn this prestigious honour because his personality on the field of play either in the national team or club will go a long way in speaking for African football.

CAF released the final 10-man shortlist of the contenders of this prestigious award last year and interestingly, four Nigerian players made the list. Many Nigerians and even Africans have however tipped John Obi Mikel as the possible winner evident from the fact that he won the Nations cup last year, Europa cup in Europe, participated in d Confederations cup and so on.

MY VIEW
As a Nigerian and a proud African, I see it as not just underscoring but extremely insulting to African football if a player like Mikel wins the award. How can a mere bench warmer in Europe be crowned the African footballer of the year just by virtue of the fact that his national team wins a title or his club wins the European league?

A deserving footballer of the hear should be such that is very resourceful both at home and in clubs. A reigning footballer of the year should at least even make the top three best player in his club even if he doesn't get a spot in the FIFA ranking.

Mikel Obi surely can't make the best ten in Chelsea's team despite being a senior player. I'm of the view that its better not to name anyone the footballer of the year than titling a bench warmer in Europe, what a mock, an insult I can't tolerate as an African.

Nigerians should be please stop being sentimental, selfish and self centred and canvass for a better representative for African football.

Left to me, if at all a Nigerian merits the award, it is Vincent Enyeama, the Nigeria's assistant skipper at goal but Cote d'Ivoire's Yaya Toure surely represents Africa better.

What's your view?
bros true talk jare.
Because he won the AFCON doessnt make him d best player in Africa for the year under review.winning tournaments used to bee be an influenttial factor in givin the award and is still but as u can see with the ballon D'or,individual performance is now key to winning such accolades datz y ronaldo is now favourite to win it.so let's leave sentiments aside,we all knw mikel deff is not the best Africa has got to offer for the year 2013

Music/Radio / Re: Open Letter To The Headies Awards 2013 by Nakarey(m): 5:44pm On Dec 30, 2013

s3nn2x: I quite agree with the OP.
I am less concerned about the winners, but the award itself.
For goodness sake the Headies is the biggest music award we have in Nigeria at the moment, but I was really disappointed with the stage setting. What was it supposed to be? It looked more like a runway.
And the comperes, I was the least impressed with Dr. Sid's performance.
For the first in my life, I could not watch an award show till the end..... I am a fan of anything that has to do with award.
What happened to MAMA and SMVA?
I actually thought I was the one that noticed it.

As for the winners, I was quit surprised, but good luck to them.
MAMA and SMVA use to be the best and most objective awards.dnt knw why they av relaxed!buh 4 SMVA am sure they are coming up wit something bigger and better.then like it was b4 nobody wil give a fvck abt headies.
