LordofNairaland: This is different. I am sure Obama did this in Japan . Moreover, in Japan, bowing is a part of their greeting. The custom even has its place in sports that originated from Asia (e.g, Karate, taekwando). Aside that, why should anyone here bow to a king who is not in his kingdom. Why not tell your king to go to America and see how even the Americans on the street regard him. My point is, the King of Morocco is in Nigeria and not his kingdom.
However, looking at the picture in the OP, one can deduce that he was not bowing down to the king. He was probably about to clean his shoes or pick something from the ground.
My post wasn't to compare. I only drew a parallel in the events.
But yeah, I agree with your points.
Although, our dear Republicans gave Obama maximum criticism for this in '09, or so.
GoggleB: Trace all the names in the Bible with bad images and tell me which one is still being used to name people in the world today.. Let me name some:
JUDAS ISCARIOT JEZEBEL AHAB HEROD CAIN VASHITI And many more
I know many people named Cain, but perhaps not in Nigeria. Some popular ones.
Because of the high rate of outsourcing, a lot of things in the US are "made in China," even though they're really just US companies who moved their factories to China to save money.
Honestly, I can hardly remember when last I saw anything with the label "Made in USA."
Although, they're specifically made for the US market and are usually different from typical Chinese products, they still carry the label.
Time flies. Seems like yesterday, when he came out with this video.
Back then (2000 - 2001), I would literally beg people to listen to Nigerian music. Most people thought they were too cool to listen to Nigerian music, but look how far it's come.
I bet the governor gets his salary paid 1 month ahead of time.
I think there should be a law in Nigeria where government payroll is set up electronically - with the governors and their cabinet's salaries at the end of the list.
That way, if every single state employee isn't paid, then they don't get paid either.
henrydadon: the man was never suited for that position he probably bribe his way to the top..incident like this shouldn't be happening in the higher institutions of all places
Well, accidents can happen anywhere.
I have no idea whether or not this particular person is qualified. However, I saw a clip from Nigeria's last general election where a VC could barely read the tally numbers.
