Teachers (particularly in poorer schools) are some of the most sadistic people in society. But wait, I graduated high school at 16, and thought that was early. If she is 14 in SS3, then she was about 8 in JSS1. Isn't that somewhat of a rush? (except she's unusually smart). |
Wow! I can't believe Nigeria never put this forward till now. With all the incidents I've seen reported. What exactly do Nigerian tax payers pay these clowns to do anyway? They get paid more than any lawmakers on the planet, but do the least amount of effective lawmaking. Better late than never, but still. ![]() |
Who's the one in white? Those legs are looking something something. ![]() |
That's an odd directive from a regulatory body. |
Just a good ol' hippie. ![]() |

LesbianBoy:Better late than never. |
martyns303:The mathematical odds of that being two consecutive identical typos is pretty significant. Improving as a person requires admitting your flaws and imperfections. I'm not certain what points I need to back up MY personal experiences. For the last time. Your citation of research data claiming EVERY person on a flight is equally impacted is false. It would be a blind statement if I came to this conclusion by assumption. I am not assuming. I am stating physical results of myself in the exact same scenario. My sense of taste is NOT altered when I'm on a flight. I'm speaking for ME, and not for anyone else. I have taken my own food on board many times, and it's never different. End of story. I think anything beyond this point amounts to petty bickering, as I'm certain we both have more judicious things to spend time on. Peace. ![]() |
martyns303:First of all, you've called it "taste bug" twice now. Since you sound smart enough, I assumed it was a typo the first time. That said, and not to be a prick, but it's hard to have a debate with someone about something they don't know enough to spell right. If I told you scientific research shows 100% of humans wake up with a 6 inch horn on their heads, would you agree with me? Why not? Perhaps because you have never woken up with a 6 inch horn on your head. Same thing. I have taken meals of my own into an aircraft on many occasions, and not once have they tasted different. Nothing is universal. |
henryobinna:Not very true. I worked in telecom for 7 years, and battery life was always one of the biggest concerns by consumers. It's not unique to developing countries. Although, I see where you're coming from, as it would be more of a problem in countries with power problems. |
martyns303:I'm pretty sure I already pointed this out to you earlier. The supposed effect is indeed stated to be on your taste buds. HOWEVER, it IS subjective. Why? Because it DOES NOT affect MY taste buds. Except you're misconstruing the meaning of subjective. In which case, "A simple google search would have helped you." ![]() |
Davido squats humbly - Complaint! "Why is he acting like a ball boy?" Davido stands - Complaint! "Why is he so proud?" Damned if you do, damned if you don't. ![]() |
martyns303:My illustration relates in the "placebo" sense. If you're convinced A results in B, chances are high that if given A, psychological factors will skew your perception/reaction in the direction of B. Again, totally subjective. |
martyns303:Placebo-type effect, bro. I accidentally had the heat set to fan lat night, BUT I woke up sweating this morning. Outside temperature was 30 deg. F (-1 Celsius). How did this happen? I was convinced the heat was on, so my body responded accordingly. There is no complex technical detail to why they believe it happens, simply that the factors I mentioned earlier numb your taste buds. The supposed effect isn't on the food itself, but on you. That said, taste is highly subjective, so I can't insist on how your taste buds respond. I can only tell you how mine do. ![]() |

martyns303:I've heard different iterations of excuses for crappy flight food, like claustrophobia, cabin pressure, engine noise etc. All backed by research. However, I call bullshit on them. You can disprove it yourself. Simply take your own tasty meal on a flight, and see if it changes taste. Answer = Nope! |
Nice dogs. |
![]() Sentences on Nairaland with the words "...obtainable in other climes" are typically followed by uninformed opinions of "other climes." (damn, I hate that phrase - other climes) Honestly, in the grand scheme of flying, they did well in offering that on a short flight. Many US airlines don't offer that much, or anything at all. Except on longer hauls of 3+ hours. Then again, flight food is usually crappy anyway, so who cares. Eat before you fly, or take something to snack on. |
Good job, lady. |
If every politician in Nigeria could quit today, Nigeria would probably be better off. |
![]() Does anyone know any difference between PDP and APC? At the end of the day, aren't they all the same people jumping back and forth, depending where the opportunity to loot lies? Nigerians DESPERATELY need to refrain from partisan politics, because there are NO set values or principles. Just a bunch of old thieves running around in search of their next loot - at the expense of their constituents. |
LadyBeee:Your question is too broad to result in useful help. For people to assist you with information, you have to first assist them with detailed information/questions about your individual circumstance. e.g - Do you intend to visit temporarily or emigrate? - Are you being invited by a sponsor? (obviously not, since you're not sure what country). - etc etc Without these, it's nearly impossible for anyone to make a guesstimate. Advice: Chasing after "smooth, fast and easy" when it concerns the US or UK is the express lane to being duped by people who call themselves "agents." Nothing worthwhile comes easy. |

N30k is about $80. Nigeria should be ashamed of itself. But wait, isn't this UNDER 17? Those girls look like they're in their early 30s. ![]() |

mofeoluwadassah:Then they'll have their own Romeo & Juliet story. Except it would be something like Boniface & Ukwamaka. |
