I COMMEND THE PRESIDENT FOR VISITING THE ASO ROCK ENT SURGEON BEFORE TRAVELLING.
We don't hear about presidents visiting Aso Rock clinics before jetting out of Nigeria for treatment. And even when things get complicated they still hide it from us. This government is giving us information but it seems there are too many ungrateful people in the world today. They complain about everything and see good things in bad ways because they are used to bad things happening. I honestly don't know which is more STUPID : Yhu believing this thing yhu just wrote up there, Or Yhu somehow believing yhu would be able to convince any sane person with it Really don't know |

Bevista: I'll help with some figures of the budget proposals of the FG from 2011, just to provide some perspective:
2011 Budget Proposed - N4.97Trillion Oil Price Used - $75 Oil Production - 2.3mbbls/day
2012 Budget Proposed - N4.75Trillion Oil Price Used - $70 Oil Production - 2.48mbbls/day
2013 Budget Proposed - N4.98Trillion Oil Price Used - $79 Oil Production - 2.53mbbls/day
2014 Budget Proposed - N4.91Trillion Oil Price Used - $75 Oil Production - 2.39mbbls/day
2015 Budget Proposed - N4.49Trillion Oil Price Used - $53 Oil Production - 2.28mbbls/day
2016 Budget Proposed - N6.0Trillion Oil Price Used - $38 Oil Production - 2.2mbbls/day
I am interested in seeing the revenue details from the budget to know exactly how government intends to fund the budget. My first instinct, though, is that leackages in revenue generating agencies (like NCS, NPA, NNPC, etc) have been blocked and all funds channeled into the TSA. That the government has been able to come up with that size of budget - even in the face of declining oil prices & lower oil production levels - without depreciating the official exchange rate of the Naira - is truly remarkable.
How GEJ (with benchmark oil price of over $75 throughout his term) was not able to come up with a budget of up to N5T beggars belief. One can now say without equivocation that, had PMB met an oil price of $75, we would be talking about a N10T budget. Kindly note that during GEJ term, oil price was actually higher ($105) than the budget benchmark and yet our Foreign Reserves and ECA was declining. You do remember Osun State right?? |
Politics › Re: MTEF: FEC Approves N6tr Expenditure For 2016 by nameo: 1:44pm On Dec 08, 2015 |
deking: @ $38 per barrel and 2.2million b/d considering 260 days the Govts daily earnings from oil will be
$38 X 2.2M X 260 =$21736 Million
@ N196 = $1
This gives $21736 Million X 196 = N4260256 million i.e N4.260256T
With this figures and considering the other loopholes that have been blocked this is more than a possible feat.
The government doesn't have to borrow if the price of petrol continues to hover around the 43$ benchmark. OLODO!!! Am sorry but I had to say that |

Parts of Port Harcourt especially Aba road is currently locked down due to the IPOD protests. Even the security forces have gotten tired of firing tear gas. The government of Nigeria needs to manage this situation with better tact and dexterity so that we do not have a full blown crisis on our hands. I don't see the government and security agencies being able to fight on multiple fronts. They have not defeated Boko Haram. Places like Taraba State are on the precipice. Forget all braggadocio, the Niger Delta is becoming more restive and criminality is escalating nationwide. The Fulani-farmers killings are resulting in more fatalities and some of the marauders have become even more murderous. Women and children are being raped. Bank robberies are on the uptick. Jobless, hungry and angry people are getting agitated. Civil servants got paid last week and many are still being owed. Whoever has access to those in power, should tell them something is about to give! Probably the only reasonable persons on this thread |

This explanation, if that is what we should properly call it, would mean that the choice of the MAJORITY of Tarabans were NOT taken into account over the crucial matter of who will rule over them in a DEMOCRACY!!! How can anyone justify declaring the votes of majority of voters in an election as "invalid" based on some technicality on the part of one the actors in the said election. What then is the real meaning of DISENFRANCHISEMENT?
And over what really? That one of the parties held its primaries in Abuja instead of Jalingo when ironically the same tribunal that gave judgement also had it's own sitting in that same Abuja instead of Jalingo!!
This doesn't look fair at all. But then again this is about the law and facts, and we all wud hopefully have to wait for the Lawyers and experts to argue all these all the way to the Supreme Court. Our jurisprudence would be the better for it I would guess. |

mapet: .....and should every other parties be responsible for PDP's technical blunder? PDP have retinue of lawyers and advisers, and ought to have known what the law states. The meaning of the technical blunder is that they never participated in the election in the first place........and out of those who did participate, Mama Taraba won Yeah. But the majority of Tarabans DID NOT choose neither this woman nor her party in the said election. In fact, put more bluntly, the majority of voting Tarabans REJECTED this woman and her party's desire to rule over them. If this judgement eventually stands, that's exactly what it will simply amount to. The people did not decide. |

mapet: Madam,
1. I respect your position of not making it a gender issue. 2. Fair and Square? That is what the Tribunal determined 3. Her presentation at the Senate should not deny her of what she truly won in the hearts of majority of the Tarabans. 4. So we both are not from Taraba........then the Trabans decided and not us 5. Alex Otti? I have a tacit support for him. May be his lawyers Fvucked him up, may be his team could not motivate a compelling case or may be wuruwuru happened. That is why he can pursue an appeal. There is no correlation between Otti's case and Mama Taraba's case. They are distance apart, different voters and different tribunal
cheers But this very tribunal judgement says that she did NOT "win the hearts of the majority of Taraba people". In fact, the tribunal affirms that the PDP candidate did. The election of the man that apparently won the hearts of "majority of the people of Taraba" was just nullified based simply on WHERE one of the parties held the primaries to chose their candidate. I HOPE YOU ARE AWARE OF THAT. |
