Career › Re: Just Start Something!!! (felisterisike..com) by nanaman(m): 10:04am On Sep 10, 2016 |
isikefelister: Greatness is only possible for whoever starts something. Great companies started small. Some of them started in their sitting rooms, warehouses, dormitories, garages and so on. Many of them have unimaginable beginnings - Google was a PhD project and incorporated in the garage of a friend at Menlo Park; Dell computer started in one of the dormitories of the University of Texas; Coca Cola emerged in a bid to find a substitute for a problematic drug called Morphine and the Coca Cola recipe was formulated at a drugstore in Columbus, Georgia. The list is endless.
Do not be shackled by the chain of job security. It is an illusion - there is no job security anywhere. Stop allowing people to determine what you do with your life. Your employer largely determine what you do with your life - the kind of food you eat; the school your children attend; the apartment in which you live; the places you travel to; the type of car you drive. It is not wrong to start as an employee but it is damning, limiting, disadvantageous and destructive to remain an employee. Your salary is meant to be saved to start your own establishment; it is not meant to be spent recklessly. I hope you will not be submitting your CV at age of 40. If everybody was an employee, who would create jobs and feed the nation? Take it or leave it, employees are modern slaves who do the bidding of their employers. The only difference is that they now wear suits and knot ties with no chain around their neck.
They eagerly look forward to Fridays and hope that Monday will never come again. Some people even bank on their pensions. My dear, the pension scheme is a ponzi scheme whereby the current generation of employees payback the pensions of past generations. GOD help you the future generations are incapacitated to pay your pension, it will be very sad. Wake up, your pension is not reliable. There are visible evidence of retired government workers who are suffering now after spending years in different government and private establishments. Take a clue from them and be wise.
Start something from where you are with what you have - you can start with that little savings in your account. For how long are going to wait to start something? You can do better than you are doing right now. Do not be afraid to go solo and start something on your own. Stop selling your labour - it is shameful that you graduated with a good grade from a higher institution and you cannot create a job with your seemingly superior mental power. Many first class and second class graduates have the brain power but they are weak in their mind to start a company, to create a job even to save their own future.
They excelled in an academic setting and regimented examinations but they are cringing in the real world and constantly failing real life examinations and tests. Is not that an irony? Take your destiny into your hands. I can bet it with you that you will later regret every indecision, procrastination, fear of failure, the lack of gut; excuses being given by you and the blame game which you are playing now. Before now, President Goodluck Jonathan was the reason people were giving to excuse their personal failures and ineptitude but now, President Buhari is the latest song on people's lips. keep blaming the government while you fail at your responsibilities. Leave the government alone and look inward - government will never be perfect. May GOD help everyone of us. Do not forget that It is never too late to start something. I love you all. Thanks for reading the article. God bless you..! |

Laive: Hello, Nanaman. You're using which means your blog is "hosted". You don't really need a hosting account from any web host. When building a self-hosted blog or website, then you can think of purchasing a webhosting panel. . Talking about domain names, you can get one from GoDaddy at $1 (about N500) using coupon code. A google search might be helpful. . I am not into blogging but I am aware that Adsense approval depends on: . 1. The uniqueness of your posts 2. The quality of your posts 3. The volume of your traffic 4. Your blog's/site's layout 5. etc . Also, you don't have to post adult or pornographic contents. Make a google search and read more of their program policies. That's where you'll be better informed. Thanks. Can you help me with the domain and proper navigation for my blog? |

ITbomb: If you are talking about navigation, Blogger has all that you mentioned Create page widget and add the links you need For About, Contact etc, create a page for themi, the will automatically appear in the page widget For Categories, create labels for your post, after posting, copy the url of the labels and use it as your category in the page widget.
You can also add it manually on the template with the ul syntax Can you help me out? |

Laive: A custom or top level domain starts with your desired name and ends with either .com, .org, .net, .edu, etc. It has nothing else going between. For example, www.acceptmydissability.com . The red portion might be your desired domain name while the part in black could be your choice of a top level domain extension, which could also be .org, .net, .info, etc. . A subdomain contains your desired domain name plus someone else's top level domain. For example, www.acceptmydissability..com is a subdomain because the red part could be your desired domain while the black part might be someone else's top level domain. . Adsense approval depends on different factors. Gotcha. I tried using bluehost, its costly. I'll do that as soon as I raise little funds or do you have cheaper domain aside bluehost. ? The adsense approval involves factors like? Thanks for your time. Appreciate. |

Family › Re: For Seun's Attention: Scamming Threads by nanaman(m): 8:27pm On Aug 06, 2016 |
EfemenaXY: I think with the recent influx of scamming threads being created on nland, a lot of people will agree that something drastic needs to be done. Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against helping people in genuine need, but totally against opportunists taking advantage of others for their own personal gains. I made a post in response to the thread created by the questionable character called HumbledByFaith which I'm reposting here, albeit some slight modifications:
Looks like we've got some corporate scammers trying it out with bolder moves. So the modus operandi now is:
1. Identity Theft: Get as many personal details as possible, preferably of female university students. Name, student ID, course, department, faculty, year of study, and a few receipts to boost your claim.
2. Cook up a heart wrenching story about dead parents, wicked family members, and spice it up with threats of suicide. Play the humble, suffering victim never responding to direct attacks, but respond with the standard response of I pray you don't go through what I'm experiencing.
3. Request for front page coverage. In the meantime, ramp up the heat by ensuring e-fights between posters. The nastier, the better.
4. Create several monikers, one per stolen identity and post in high traffic sections.
5. Be sure to create several aliases claiming to be "friends" of the sob story thread creators. Take it one step further by pretentious claims of having verified the "plight" to be true.
6. Pretend you're more interested in prayers than financial assistance when asked. Be sure to "reluctantly" accept any money when pressured.
7. Fold arms, sit back, and watch the entertaining cat fights with a chilled bottle of Coke. An increase in the number of fights is directly proportional to the prospective number of magas paying out.
8. Laugh all the way to the bank. Life can be so easy, can't it?
Seun: I think a lot of people on here, including those who've been a victim of online scammers will agree that something drastic needs to be done. How about creating a section specifically to name and shame these online thieves? Their scamming threads should be dumped there. Then a stickied thread showcasing the names and bank details of the scammers should be listed, with a corresponding link to their scamming threads. The only people with access to this main thread should be you and the supermods.

Barrywilly: The story doesn't add up. Firstly, there is no any turning after Oduduwa University that leads to Ilorin. Secondly, there was no way you can be abducted, your abductors held a meeting and you will still be at Ilorin within that time lag. Thirdly, how did she paid the okada man. Fourthly, there are no Bush road to Ilorin from Ile-Ife. You will have to pass through so many towns and villages like osogbo, ifon Osun, ikirun, ogbomosho etc. This is a cooked up story from a wayward girl There is a road bro. Akinola market along the express after OUI leads to Ipetu-Moro-Oshogbo or Ilorin whichever route your destination is. The story get as be though but Thank God she survived. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Unemployed 1st Class Graduates Lounge by nanaman(m): 5:11pm On Aug 01, 2016 |
TheBatman: pardon me if this is a bit off topic, but one thing i've noticed is that alot of pressure is placed on first class grads, people expect you to be some what extraordinary, you are expected to know everything about everything, you are not permitted to miss a single interview question (technical or non technical). if you pass an aptitude test nobody congratulates you they'll just say "na first class, na normal thing" but once you fail, the next thing is that people would start doubting your result, automatically you're a scam first class who doesn't have anything upstairs. when you tell the average nigerian that you graduated with a 1st, the next thing on their mind would be "lets test him", "does he really deserve it", he must be one of those "la cram la pour" people. Also i've noticed that the beef against 1st class grads is really strong, especially amongst 2:1 grads who claim to be far better. But the thing is 1st class grads are just normal individuals like you and me, they don't have an extra brain hidden somewhere. 1st class grads are smart quite alright but they are not robots and they are permitted to make mistakes. Nice one bro. You just nailed it. Thumbs up..!! They are just smart..That's all. |
