Why in this age, when education is available to the female child, would a woman sit and wait for upkeep money from her husband? A man will misbehave when he knows his wife is totally dependent on him. Make use of your education and youthfulness. Get a job, start a business, or go back to school to improve on yourself.

I am metallurgist that have worked in the metallurgical sector till this recession started.
Now, I am trying to launch myself back to the employment sector. I do not have the needed background for this job but am being invited for the interview.

Show the interviewer that the skills you gained in your previous employment will be assets in this new role. Obviously from your cv they can tell that this is a new field for you but they certainly like your experience. So look closely at the job description and try to link what you did in your previous employment to the duties listed. Show them that you are versatile and a quick learner.

The easiest solution would have been to let the child outgrow the habit. Child development isn't easy but we should let kids grow into self-confident adults. Publicly shaming a kid may have a serious effect on their psyche.

It's lack of education,I was having the same problem with my daughter as well and her teacher told me to allow all the kids in her class to round her up to sing for her for 2-3 days,infact she stopped after the second day.

You made some salient points. The only comment I don't agree with is the above one. There is no guarantee that a separation would have resolved issues. Sometimes it is better to face the inevitable, cut your losses and move on. If a man is violent to a woman who has just given birth to a child, then he is a lost cause.

Nobody has the right to lay their hands on another person, so there is no justification in a man beating his wife. He should walk away if he can't control his temper. I agree with you. Never been a fan of blended families. I feel for the kids, very awkward and difficult situation. It works for some families though with immense hardships to blend the family.

I also think these decisions are selfish and self serving and do not entirely consider the wellness of the kids involved.

These comments are from a woman! So a woman's life ends when she divorces. So you had rather the kids watch their mother being battered on a regular basis and then they grow up thinking violence is acceptable? Or isn't it better for them to see what a loving, healthy relationship entails? Doesn't the new husband know about the kids and isn't there the possibility that he would love them just as he loves their mother? I read the way this Lady was celebrated on Lindaikeji and i totally do not think it is worth the Hype.
As much as am happy with her on her new found love, what we should preach and encourage is resolution not walking away.
Walking away should be last option. When one does walk away, it is not something worth celebrating when he/she chooses to settle with another partner.

this happened to my cousin who had been abroad for many years, he had been to jail and done a lot of things whilst channeling all his money to his mother and brother in Nigeria so they could build houses and maybe a hotel for him. Dude got deported and to his utter shock, his family had squandered his money without anything to show for it. It was a very sad story, after serving his time in jail only to return home to nothing, according to him, his people used to send him pictures of buildings they told him was his own.

That's karma for him. He probably swindled other people and in return he too was swindled.

The fight took place in June 2016 so I believe it is safe to say that the relationship had irretrievably broken down when he paid the school fees. Most couples sign cards or receipts together even if the money came from only one of them, so I can see why the other receipts had both names.

Thank you so much for all your comments. Too many emotional people who don't take time to read and understand the story. I thought reading comprehension was taught in both primary and secondary school, but in Nairaland so many people are so weak in that aspect.
