Politics / Re: Niger Bans Bulk Sale Of Food Items, Orders Confiscation Of Trucks Carrying Food by NapoleonHill: 5:41am On Feb 10
It's very easy to know that Nigerian leaders are not thinking. They are just opportunists who found themselves in office. This man wants to set farmers in his state 10 years backwards instead of seeking other means. Useless leaders who have lost touch with reality.

If they stay back, they can get kidnapped, get killed by a stray bullet from police, get shot by a drunk police, get arrested and locked away for a crime they didn't commit etc.

They must have weighed their options before making the move.

All these may happen to them abroad. In fact, there's a higher chance of being killed and going to jail. These guys don't have hope in Nigeria but they do not understand what awaits them at the other end.

There are people whose impacts must be felt, regardless of where you put them. Examples are Wike, Umahi, Amaechi, El-Rufai, etc. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is proving to belong to that category.

So, we expect Fela Durotoye to do the same...speak once in a while because you are a national figure...after all, he's here to work on ethics and values.

None of the people you've mentioned are SAs. They have either been ministers or governors where they had or now have near absolutely power.

SA to the president is an adviser. If he advises the president and he listens, you will never know. If the president doesn't listen, you still will never know.

Are you expecting SAs to go and be building schools and bridges?

Betta Edu was just suspended and thrown to the EFCC to devour and you're asking what the SA National Value and Social Justice is doing. If that was Fela Durotoye's advise to the president, would you expect him to come to the media to announce it?

The basic rule I followed is simple - Never forget the gathering of thy brethren - a lesson I learnt the hard way as an undergraduate. It later became my guiding principle in life and particularly when job hunting.

Now, the first thought that may cross your mind is joining group including WhatsApp and telegram. This is just one step but more importantly is maintaining a circle that gives you an insight to what the recruitment process is, end to end.

For example, my first attempt at the PWC exam was a disaster. I was on a WhatsApp group where materials were shared but the materials were overwhelming that I majored on the minor and vice versa. It was after the exam I realized that all the questions asked were in the shared folder but I focused on Dragnet's past questions instead of SHL, the exam body which would usually conduct PWC's test questions. And guess what, I failed.

From my experience above and some others I'll be sharing, I learnt quickly that most recruitment are never fair. Some certain sets of people would usually be at an advantage either by being privileged to have seen some materials or have been hinted of what the process would seem as. It's your duty to be among these sets. Investigate, talk about it with friends, ask questions and be prepared.

Most recruitment exercises are concluded even before they start. This is not to mean that being intelligent wouldn't get you the job. It's just that a little advantage put you at a better place in the contest and considering the large pool of candidate, little things and tiny details make the difference between who gets to the next stage and who doesn't.

To be continued.

On Twitter, it is multiple fronts.

—Yoruba vs Igbo

—Hausa/Fulani vs Middlebelt Christians

The other tribes then switch loyalty to join the fight of the above two and sometimes they are just neutral.

I don’t think the fight will ever end until end of Tinubu tenure. People don’t even care about governance again, any simple thing na full blow Twitter war.

You have captured it succinctly but I think the war will not end after Tinubu's government because it didn't start with it. It may subside but not end.

No Yoruba person will ever say Igbos are dividing us alone religious line. It's the Igbos who do not understand that this is nearly impossible due to how intertwined we are. Our parents are both Muslim and Christian, our friends are of opposite religions and our homes are mixed.

This relationship is to the last unit of the society which is the family so a Yoruba person is likely to laugh such comment off as an act of ignorance than take offence at it.

The icing on the cake is that members of both religions could also traditionalists.

Jobs/Vacancies / Advise For Unemployed Fresh Graduate by NapoleonHill: 9:16pm On Dec 29, 2023
I have wanted to do this a long time but I procrastinated. I certainly want to help other learn from my experience and the experience of those I have learnt from.

I got my first offer a just month after NYSC in an Oil and Gas company as a graduate engineer, I have gotten offers from different organizations across different sectors including an investment company, financial institutions, and I got to the final stages of a lot of recruitment processes as well.

I will introduce myself as a graduate who is not always the smartest in the room, I'm certainly not the dullest either but I always find a way to get around my challenges.

This thread is targeted at fresh graduates and corps members who are aspiring to join the labour market. There is just one basic instruction and you will have the advantage that you desire in these recruitment process.

It seems the short break on Nairaland led to the exodus of the tribal elements to Twitter. The kind of banters and ethnic bashing is unbelieve.

Low lives like you said worse things about Mandela. Today, who remembers those low lives as Mandela is remembered? It is better to be in jail for a right cause than to be free and useless. Even if Kanụ remains in jail till he is 200, he would be remembered and respected more than you all because he would have achieved more than you.

Correct. High lives like you who supported Mandela are not remembered either. Interestingly, in this case, he's nothing as Mendela and the rest of the nation will remember him for the atrocities he committed when a kangaroo court granted bail to a treasonous fellow.

How can his lawyers establish this on a fair ground at the Supreme Kangaroo court that is ridiculed all over the world? You don't seem to understand the bad reputation your country has for having a drug lord president, a terrorist vice president, and protecting a globally proscribed terror group. So, you can shamelessly talk about Kanụ in this manner instead.

That one is your problem. He would rot in jail where he rightfully belongs. When he's 89, he'd be released to mark his 90th with the few remaining criminals who may have survived the onslaught by the NA.

cool If the Nigerian government knew how much we are losing to this Kanụ case, they would have just released him, granting him the referendum he seeks. What's difficult in doing this?

Today, I have the time to respond to this reckless statement you've been making. So, you don't know that there is something called provocation in criminal law both globally and in Nigeria? Don't you know that if there is any ground to establish that someone was rightfully provoked to do something, then, the culpability is lessened to that degree?

OK, let's assume you're so ignorant you do not know this, are you also so morally and rationally bankrupt that you don't know this: When IPOB was only carrying placard, the Nigerian Government provoked them again and again by killing them until they became violent?

You are so shameless it doesn't worry you that an organization your country proscribed (IPOB) is not proscribed anywhere else throughout the world, but an organization proscribed throughout the world (Fulani militia) is protected by your government. Full shame.
You go explain taya. That's why he has lawyers. Let them go and establish in court that he got provoke and then created a parallel government and armed some youth brandishing all sort of weapons, a treasonable offence punishable by death.

You don't seem to understand the gravity of his offence. I think a good documentary should be put together and sponsored on national TV to showcase the extent of damage the wicked albino has caused.

There is no doubt that he would pay dearly for his crimes. I only hope when the authorities react to the "provocation" of IPOB, you will maintain the morality to understand they reacted to provocation.

In the school of politics, Wike is not greedy. He did what political mafians are supposed to do, to protect their fiefdom.....
At the start of the fight, Simi was afraid and cautious until the meeting called by Asiwaju to settle Wike and him.

Thereafter, Simi went full throttle against Wike. If you don't smell a rat, then you are as naive as Wike.

In as much as I'm against Wike all round, what Simi is doing is bad, and akin to biting the finger that feed you.

You don't fight your father, no matter what. If I was Simi, after protecting myself, I will still bring in Wike. As long as he needs money, solidarity or otherwise in a turf outside Rivers state, I will support and make sure he wins because loyalty is what defines a man, not money or power.

For now, because I hate Ronuism, APCism, Jagabanism, Agberoism, Simi must finish the job, so that there be no inroad for them in Rivers state!

Tinubu or not, Sim must fight to remain alive first. It's doesn't matter whether he wins election or not.

The meeting with the president was probably the last hope of SIM for survival but it broke down. It was after that meeting Wike's allies rose to mess Sim up with impeachment and all.

I've always liked and supported Wike but on this one, Wike should let SIM breath. You don't need to be on the inside to know what SIM could be going through rn in the hands of Wike.

Awon Shettima/Wike 2031 in the mud. Trust Ronus at your own peril!

Wike has been used and dumped, not bad though, but tricked into foolishly asking his loyal boys to port without thinking of the consequences is the height of treachery. Serve him right!

Can you explain how Wike has been used and dumped?

Wike is a victim of his own greed and it's no one's fault. He campaigned for APC in opposition and is presently in the same government. What else does he expect to benefit? To have their heads on a platter for him?

He asked lawmakers loyal to him to move to APC not because the move will benefit APC but because he wants to impeach his godson. Who's to blame really?

People will come here to attack the op but they are not honest enough to admit that successive Nigerian leadership has no moral willpower to improve the life of ordinary countryman.

It's a train bound for nowhere.

The only thing you are likely to regret for leaving Nigeria is that you didn't do it earlier.

Most people will support the OP but the truth is, if you have something meaning doing in Nigeria and you dare to travel without a plan because others are doing it, you would be putting yourself deliberately in harm's way and its outcome will be nothing short of a wasteful life.
