Gbawe:
Is that what you see? well , coming at this time,  I see another attempt to stop Jonathan at all cost same as everything was done to prevent OBJ gaining a third term and "usurping" power from the North. Back then Ken Nnamani was the national hero who felt OBJ should not gain another term he was not entitled to . Money was flying around and Nnamani could have named his price but he acted out of principles instead and perhaps in respect of an agreement him, OBJ and others had committed themselves to honouring. We are in the same position again and it is instructive that Nnamani is seen alongside Atiku everywhere. It is relatively silent movers like Nnamani , who have seen it all and done it all, who often make the difference. Not the braggadocious and insultive noisemakers and newcomers to power with an unrealistic over-reliance on the influence of the President's office. Let us wait and see. Perhaps when we get more info we can analyse issues better.
Gbawe don come again with him long essays. tongue

The question simply is, if you were a delegate preparing to vote tommorow and this news comes, would you go ahead to vote for a candidate whose candidacy is premised on the controversial  waiver mentioned in nwodos case? Just think about it.

Like you said it lets watch how events unfold. If Nwodo insists that he remains the chairman at the convention and refuse to obey the court orders, then, may be i would agree that this means trouble for GEJ. But if he comes out to accept the verdict with a plan to appeal the judgement, then it is goodnews for Goodluck. I no sabi type plenty grin

Forget your Nnamani. Just forget him.
PoliticsRe: Pdp Chairman Nwodo Removed by naso2(m): 4:08pm On Jan 12, 2011
Masterstroke. He surely will get the ruling upturned, however the plan is for him to step down, and work on the psyche of the delegates on how to vote.  Our people say "When skeletons are mentioned in a story, old men begin to tremble". The message really is for the Atiku camp.

Technically , with this ruling PDP delegates know that voting for ATiku might translate into the party not having a candidate in the general elections.

Delegates will generally vote GEJ, after the primaries nwodo appeals and upturns the judgement. while Atiku would have been deflated after the primaries.

Once again I say Masterstroke. grin

At the award ceremony organised by The Banker magazine, a subsidiary of the Financial Times of London in London on Wednesday, Oceanic Bank was adjudged the Nigerian Bank of the year for the second time running.The bank had earlier won the award in 2006.

The Managing Director of the bank, Mrs. Cecilia Ibru, said she was dedicating the award to all the staff of the bank.

"I am deeply blessed and honoured to be working with such talented, dedicated and hardworking team, without them, this award will not have been possible," she stated.

Ibru said that Oceanic Bank was highly committed to delivering value to the Nigerian economy, and to its core stakeholders. "We will not relent on our high standards," she said.

The Oceanic Bank boss stated that the award would spur the bank to continue with its various strategies towards being an African bank to be reckoned with in the international community."

A statement from the bank on Thursday said the editor-in-chief of The Banker Magazine, Mr. Philip Timewell, paid particular tributes to banks from the emerging markets for turning in excellent financial performances when their counterparts in Europe and America were facing serious crises as a result of the recent spate of turbulences in the financial markets.
The event was said to have been attended by representatives of banks from over 143 countries, which entered the awards.

According to the statement, highlights of the night included the lifetime achievement award given to William Rhodes, a 50-year veteran of Citibank.

From a total of 12 branches as at September 31, 2000, the bank grew its branch network to 320 business offices - 286 branches, 24 e-Banking centres and 10 collection points.

"The bank currently ranks amongst the top four banks in the industry in terms of branch network. In the 2006/2007 financial year alone , it added a total of 135 business offices to its branch network while two subsidiaries - Oceanic Capital Limited and Oceanic Insurance Limited - became fully operational," said the statement.

The bank is one of the few that have recorded outstanding successes in the funding of SMEs through the Small and Medium Enterprises Equity Investment Scheme

PoliticsRe: Gej Must Be Elected At All Cost - It Is In The Best Interest Of Nigeria by naso2(m): 4:46pm On Jan 11, 2011
Small small, we dey near goalpost.

1.Initially they said, he should not contest, that his mere declaration will divide the country, he gently on 18th sept offered himself for the election.
2. They then made it loud and clear , that should he contest, he would disgraced at the polls, he still was undetered
3. Ciroma and his ilk started their consensus gra gra, finally they picked Atiku
4. Then the enemies realised slowly that it would be difficult to defeat him at the primaries, hence they threatened with the inevitable "violent change", the bombs went off, but we still were undetered.
5. After the bombs they explored the legal option, the self acclaimed defender of democracy (Atiku), could no longer really on this "network of friends" to get the party ticket. Hence he promised to stop GEJ from even running at the primaries. The courts have thrown out their claims.

6 Then suddenly , just two days to the primaries, some of our sworn enemies have started campaigning for us in self delusion that it will be easier for a 70-yr old Buhari who does not look healthier than UMYA in 2007 to defeat GEJ in the general elections than atiku. I dey laugh.

But to us we are getting closer our destination. It is now endorsement galore----- friends , enemies, pastors, "kpians"---- all join.

I have joy and I wish all of you joy. I STILL DEY LAUGH.
PoliticsRe: I Don’t Trust Jonathan –tunde Bakare by naso2(m): 6:47pm On Jan 10, 2011
Are you satisfied with his administration?
No, not at all. I am not satisfied. Not in the least and Nigerians are not satisfied. He has underperformed. I do not think we can trust him with the leadership of this nation in 2011. He has grossly underperformed, he has goofed in so many instances. He is yet to correct his stand that Sovereign National Conference is 96 years late.
As a matter of fact, PDP has done enough. We must have progressives as they call them. They must come together, although they themselves are not serious. They are all birds of the same feather flocking in the same direction.
No comment.

And for those who think that Uduaghan has done a good job in Delta state, it is a real shame that people do not understand the meaning of good, even after going to school. The lack of education has really eaten us deep.

Uduaghan is a corrupt thief and does not deserve to lead his family let alone Delta state.

Maybe we will see a lot of civil letigations this time around. Nigerians need to wake up, we hold our own destiny, not some ugly short thief.
Because Nigerians are bad loosers. people just get the result from one poling booth or say they consulted elders in the state and compute non-existent results  for the whole state in their head. Ogboru needed to do more than just occasional visits to delta to oust an incumbent like uduaghan.

The votes counting from what we have seen was done openly, meaning if DPP agents are on ground, there should be a way of collating their individual scores for us to know the variance from the announced results. If they have that let them bring it forward, if not let them shut up.

PoliticsRe: Atiku Takes Jonathan-economics To The Clearners ! ! ! by naso2(m): 8:50am On Jan 06, 2011
Atiku stated that capital expenditure in this budget is the lowest in recent times compared to other budgets. Can atiku do us the favour of matching capital budgets in previous years with tangibles in terms of implementation?

well GEJ has replied. lets hear from Atiku again

The total projected fiscal deficit was cut from 6.06% of GDP in 2010 to 3.62% in the 2011 Budget Proposal; this is the first meaningful attempt to start to bring the deficit within the limits prescribed by Nigeria’s fiscal rules under the Fiscal Responsibility Act;
Despite absorbing the full impact of the salary increase by 53% in July 2010, we have reduced Non-debt Recurrent Expenditure by 7.02% to N2.48 trillion. Non-debt Recurrent Expenditure includes overheads which we have reduced by 29% from N536 billion to N382 billion, with cuts that affect both the Executive and Legislature;

Aggregate expenditure has been reduced by 18%, from N5.16 trillion in 2010 to N4.2 trillion in the 2011 Budget Proposal;
Borrowing in 2011 is projected at N865 billion (a reduction of 38% from the N1.3 trillion in 2010) and not N1.4 trillion. This level of borrowing is 20.4% of the Proposed Budget, and not the 33% that is presented in the letter;

The level of capital expenditure in the proposed budget is N1 trillion which is a 43% reduction compared to the 2010 appropriation. However this N1 trillion is higher than the highest amount that has ever been implemented in a 12 or 15 month implementation period. The N919.5 billion utilised in the 15 months comprising the 2009 fiscal year represents the largest amount of capital expenditure expended by our MDAs in any fiscal year.
When considered in the light of this administration’s new approach to funding infrastructure, we believe that our proposal is practical and realistic. As a Government, we recognise that reducing Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit requires more capital and greater implementation capacity than we can afford or provide. We have had to think and act creatively.

The breakdown of the 2011 Federal Budget is very explicit about how the fiscal gap in the 2011 Budget will be funded. According to the details, only N865 billion will come from new borrowing, while the rest will be funded by specific special items. Therefore, it is incorrect, as claimed by the writer in the letter, that with a total deficit of N1.4 trillion, there will be new borrowing of N1.4 trillion;
Accordingly, the planned borrowing of N865 billion would be 20.4% of the entire budget and not 33% of it, while the planned borrowing would be 2.24% of GDP and not 3.62%, as claimed by the writer;

The statement in the letter concerning the figure of the budgeted debt service payment of N542 billion is certainly misleading in the context in which it was portrayed. This is because the debt service obligation of each fiscal year is a reflection of the total debt accumulated over several years by successive administrations and does not simply reflect the size of recent borrowings. For example, it is important to note that over 85% of Nigeria’s external debt was obtained before

Forget story. If I am sure of beating you in the primaries without a debate , then why bother with one? Atiku can get desperate during the debates and makes statements that can hurt GEJ's chances in the general elections.

We all know this election is between GEJ and buhari. If you dont already know this, then i cant help you.
PoliticsRe: Victory For Democracy! - Jonathan Finally Agrees To Debate by naso2(m): 10:07am On Dec 31, 2010
Gej has already accepted the offer of a debate, so what are people sweating over? Personally i believe debates are designed to help the electorate make informed choices , however in this case, its not the general public that decides the party flag bearer, chances are that the debates , if not properly handled will further arm the opposition for the general inter-party debates later.

Dis Guy:
was wondering the same thing too, I mean GEJ is still the most popular candidate out there

This is his opportunity to nail Atiku once and for all, afterall Ciroma did him a favour with IBB
maybe he will arrest Atiku's campaign manager too for Jos bombings
If in your words he is the most popular candidate, then you will agree with me that he doesnt need the debates to win the primaries. If atiku is already down , then there is no point trying to nail him further, expecially if the process is laden with some hidden risks. our people say "If you are a  wrestling champion, you must be wise enough to carefully pick your fights"

PoliticsRe: Primaries: Atiku Leads Jonathan In Pdp opinion Poll by naso2(m): 1:30pm On Dec 21, 2010
Gbawe:
No surprise that Atiku who has consistently scored the lowest in all polls to date for Presidential candidates is now actually leading "endorsement master" GEJ.

Put an 18 year old Northern candidate against GEJ and Mr. President will still fail to clinch the PDP ticket because the ideological thinking and actual stance of the PDP cannot be influenced by non-PDP members. The PDP , IMO, believes completely in zoning. The Party wants to respect its zoning formula while it tries to humour an incumbent President who is insisting on contesting when many feel he should not. GEJ should stop wasting Nigeria's wealth on an ambition that was dead on arrival.

I think Akunyili has seen that the ship is sinking . Like her or not , there is something about Akunyili that screams "woman of history".

http://nigeriaworld.com/feature/publication/ubochi/122010.html
Suddenly, yes just suddenly Dora is now Gbawe's amazon . why? simply because in trying to rubbish GEJ, it is easier to now project Dora positively.

Your anti-GEJ desperation here is getting very pathetic.

This woman insulted Gani Fawehinmi and all her supporters should bow their head in shame at this unforgivable gaffe that exposes how shallow and lacking in substance Akunyili really is. She is a deceitful empty barrel.

She may always have been corrupt and shallow. She probably did a good job of hiding her true character. Nobody with true integrity of character can become this undemocratic ,anti-people , and a fervent apologist of misrule to boot , in such a short space of time. We all saw Gani fight various Government , year in year out , in testimony to what true integrity is about. I think Akunyili's image is a carefully contrived fraud. You would never get the likes of Soyinka, Gani or Achebe accepting a job that entails laundering the image of a cruel, corrupt and callous Government hellbent on keeping it citizens in abject misery and poverty . This Government cannot/will not do anything right. Instead it is proving itself adept at destroying the little gains we have made . We are now the laughing stock of the World because of how grossly inept Yar Adua's Government is. A person of integrity will work to bring down such a Government rather than join it. It will not be difficult to defeat misrule if many of us , especially those with power and influence , choose to fight a tyrannical Government rather than join it.
