There is nothing that has never been said before all you have to do is to coin it you own way. This is simply a case of mere coincidence of thought within the confnes of permissible originality in academic writing. Obama, Clinton, Bush, Blair and other world leaders and their speechwriters frequently review several famous speeches and quotes for parallel incidences in design and delivery.

What zoning is the son preaching? people understand the useless zoning script these guys are playing. UMYA is from the NORTH WEST. Now tell me is NORTH now a geo-political zone?

IBB--- NC, SARAKI---NC, ATIKU--NE

Only Gusau aliyu is from the north west and they want him to step down for ibb.

GEJ is surely the most popular candidate in the race 4 now, in my own opinion though. People will always seek for change, a shift if u like. GEJ represents that shift. "There comes a tide in the event of men atimes" [I think the quote belongs to Julius Ceasar]. Today, GEJ is the tide.

The issue here is that you as his ardent supporter can do better than u r doing nw to give him a resounding winning. I think telling people who need to be convinced to go and use acid to soak garri is unhelpful as can be seen here on this thread : https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-516539.0.html

na_so seems to be listening to u, so u can advise him better
You seem new here . . . I think i have engaged more serious, cultured and intelligent forumites like Gbawe, mikeansy that oppose GEJ's bid and such arguments have been with utmost respect and presentation of sound premises to support our arguments. But for people like mentalgong,bigb1, ferado et al we will meet them with equal dose of the venom they come with. Actions and reactions are same and opposite.QED

Ok i'm back, just finish reading the crap some people post here, to all those who who bash Jonathan i just feel like asking these questions
1. Name your canditates ?
2. Have any of you voted before, if you have who did you vote for ? that's especially to JANUS

Jonathan was governor of bayelsa for less than a year, He went about completing projects that were embarked by the administration of ALAMS, He made it clear that he was not gonna embark on any new project because the time frame was short, the bayelsa housing project at the express road now sanni abacha express road was finished, the bayelsa 5 star hotel was also embarked by him and some of the roads started by Alamiesigha too was completed by him, remember the time frame was too short for him so embarking on new projects was not a novel idea but completion of existing projects was his priority, for those bashing him with the corruption toga, i guess most of you read it in the papers, and we all believe the EFCC headed by Ribadu was the one that released this story, so it means if any one has the authority to talk about this issue its the EFCC headed by Ribadu not even Farida, now we have a situation where Ribadu himself has come to disclaim this story not only that terming it as all falsehood so why are people still talking about Jonathan being corrupt when Ribadu himself has come to refute this claim do we know better than Ribadu, the posters making such claims now, where they part of the investigative team ?, c'mon i understand "Its one hundred times easier to criticize than to create" so i can forgive you for your criticism but it should be based on fairness and good judgement, It's not yet uhuru with Jonathan there but his candidacy is far better than anything the North has placed on the table so far and would serve the needs of the common man than any of the aspirants out there now, you know why because Nigerians have seen this old recycled idiots before, of all the lot Jonathan appeals more to the common man and his desire for a better Nigeria far outweighs that of any of the aspirants right now, We all have our views and our preferences but before you go bashing him, PLEASE name your preferred choice lets also know, "AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WOULD VOTE FOR JONATHAN" case closed

IBB is not going to give up after the primaries. He and Atiku are already battling to take over ANPP. If they don't succeed, as Houvest says, they have already threatened serious mayhem that will shake the unity of the country. Don't be decieved, it will not end with the PDP primaries.
All na lie, dem no born dem well. shake unity of which country? na their mallam emirs go call dem to order. we no be small pikin again.

After the elections any act that threatens the peace of the nation will be met with appriopate measures as allowed by law. Yes we know IBB is a general, but I am sure he knows the powers of the president. unlike OBJ he has nothing on GEJ , hence he can be taken care of properly at the appropritae time.

I have no iota of doubt that GEJ will win the PDP primaries but I fear that a serious North South rift will happen after that as IBB and co will do every thing to whip up Northern sentiments to win the election but will fail. They will now try and make Nigeria ungovernable for GEJ via riots, etc. I hope GEJ knows this is what Jallo means by options ABC and should try now to plan now his own options ABCD, ie A/ win the primaries B/ win the peace in PDP, C/ win the elections D/ win the peace in Nigeria. Plans for war or fighting should be a distant last resort by GEJ. I believe involving all in a dialogue in plans BCD must be on the table. I dont trhink anybody wants war. Talking and making concessions to massage hurt egos are all parts of political ways to solve national problems. Nigeria certainly will not survive another war unless both GEJ and Ibb want that break up secretly.
Forget all this ABOKI gra gra, they just want to harass jonathan and make him feel like the world would come to an end if he runs. all na lie. If you understand the art of war here, you will know that the so-called north is just struggling.

This battle with jonathan started long ago, and each time  the north has always come out bruised. It started by UMYA not handing over properly, then northern elements pushing that Gej should not be empowered as president to perform the role, then the battle of acting president and subsequent threats of litigation by some northern apologists that acting president was illegal, then the hurried parceling of UMYA into the country, then the dissolution of the cabinet and the cabal and the cry of the north that it was done in bad fate. In all of these they(mallam) never hid their fear, and needed GEJ to just give them assurance that he will not run if made the president, he refused to comment .

All the initial northern bravado is now history, he has replaced the service chiefs and nothing happened. Remember that even the sultan of sokoto came in defence of dambazau when GEJ was initially pressured to sack him.

Now, the north
1 is seeking a consensus PDP candidate to face GEJ
2.It is threatening to take PDP to court for allowing GEJ to run,
3. it is also telling GEJ that he doesnt have any support in the north, hence he will be disgraced at the polls
4. It is threatening to pull out of pdp if GEJ wins the ticket

All these moves show a people who are not only desperate and but also confused, as they seem to be running out of options.

Dem no fit do nada to an ND man. GEJ is humble and patient, but sure he will never be intimated, its unfortunate the mallams will realise this too late.

mikeansy:
Comparing Goodluck to Obama is a lack of understanding or appreciation of what makes Obama special.

Obama in his speeches makes very intellectual arguments rich in History, logic and common sense. His mastery of tenses and diction is also second to none. So please let us judge Goodluck by his standards. Don't compare him to Obama because his level no reach at all!!!!!!!!!

Goodluck did not even provide a single argument for why anything should be done. For over two years now there has been a debate about whether we should have Sovereign Wealth Fund or Excess Crude Account. Now Goodluck Jonathan has finally developed balls to back the idea. In his speech he promised to set aside N1b for the creation of Sovereign Wealth Fund but failed to say why he has come to that conclusion or what informs that decision and folks are going, what a speech and comparing him to Obama.

What if the NASS decides to oppose the Sovereign wealth fund. What if Governors are able to mobilise support in NASS to kick against it? Is it not by providing a superior argument to the Nigerian people that you can somehow win the moral argument and get the NASS to do the right thing?

Let GEJ enjoy his moment, in the next coming days we will take this speech apart and take it to the cleaners.

I AM SIMPLY NOT IMPRESSED.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you want him to get to that level of detail, wey people dey stand under sun?
Dont worry, meet us at the presidential debate with your questions. We promise to answer all.

All this naive people talking about rented crowd ,make me laugh. Some will vote because they like jonathan, some will vote becuase they believe he has a clear advantage, some will vote becuase they are settled. Some will vote for the fear of intimidation. The ballot box does not seperate those that love you in their heart from those that do eye service. All we need are the votes. In the end Jonathan is the man to beat.

You don be super mind reader,to be able to watch from TV screen and tell what is in the mind of the governors.

The four fo.o.ols(IBB,ATIKU,GUSAU,SARAKI) that the north is presenting is part of the reason for the growing support GEJ enjoys. Very soon you will hear they they have all stepped down for IBB. Treachery or not, IBB can never beat Jonathan to the PDP ticket.

Retards like the guy above T@meD0 are the problem Africa as a whole has today, I agree we fielded over aged players but dont tell me we where the only ones, in all honesty the only team that had a 19 yr old gal in this competition would have to be the hosts, It was quite glaring that those korean "girls" where above 19 or 20, We shouldnt just believe anything a caucasian or asian tells you without consulting your brain, that would just make you a RETARD!!!
When people run dry on logic, they resort to foul language. Grow up man, you can still struggle to make what looks like a point(though very difficult in this case) without going so low. You agreed that our girls are over aged and still went ahead to call me a retard, how confused can one get?

There is hardly any nigerian age grade team that has not been found wanting in this area, but sometimes if the age difference falls within certain margins, then it can be managed. In the case of these girls, that look almost older than our recent u-20 team, it is impossible for someone like me to ignore.

Almost all the korean girls are in school, while ours play for pelican stars ,rivers angels, omidiran babes as full professionals, the irony of it is that on paper most of our girls are still 14yrs old . what a joke? did you see the south african team?

People like you need to understand that you can still be patriotic and have intergrity. They are not mutually exclusive.

Almost all the Korean girls are in high school at age 14, 15 etc.
Nigerian girls are the "youngest" at 14, 15 16 etc and they are all playing pro in Pelican Stars, Delta Queens etc,
Does this mean nigerian girls no longer attend secondary school?
If they do, at what age did they leave sec school?
God bless you. For me I am happy the Nigerian U-17 women were beaten by the Korean girls.
The cheating this time was simply too much. some of our girls even look older than the referee, may be that explains why the ref annoyingly gave the koreans that penalty.
PoliticsRe: I Am Running For President Now, Nigeria Can't Wait Till 2015- Nuhu Ribadu by naso2(m): 12:50pm On Sep 17, 2010
Ribadu definitely cannot win the presidential election, but really if GEJ gets the PDP ticket and IBB still wants to run under another party in the general elections , then this will affect GEJ'S chances. Only TEWMUCH seem to get the gist so far.

Since SW will not vote for IBB, he wants the votes to be split so that it doesnt go wholesale to GEJ. IBB has also planted OUK in PPA to whittle down GEJ's votes in the SE. What will be left will be just SS and the other northern states where IBB and buhari will have more votes. With Ribadu's entry , even if GEJ has majority of the votes in the first run, the chances are that it will not be sufficient   to declare him an outright winner. If there is a re-run, the chances are that all opposition parties will see it as a one-off chance to upstage PDP, hence they will easily join forces. Secondly a northern candidate will readily step down and ask his supporters to go with another northern candidate.

Even with this scenario GEj still has a strong chance of winning, because the SW will never support IBB in a re-run even if ribadu steps down for him. Secondly, the more the  northern candidates step down for their chosen one, the  less attractive that candidate becomes to the entire south as the presently vieled calliphate script would have come to the full glare of all.

summary

1.ribadu can never win,  he at best will split SW votes .
2. Jonathan will still have the majority , but might still not be enough to clinch outright victory
3. Buhari will have More votes in the north than IBB
4. IBB will have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea to support in a runoff election---- GEJ or Buhari
5.If there is a rerun, the SW will definitely go for GEJ.
