I know some self-acclaimed progressives on NL  would rather die, than say the truth especially when it stands to favour their opponent.

Let Mr. Jonathan's Special Advisers advice him right. If am one, I will advice him to do all the best he can do now then step down and wait for the South-South turn. I bet you, some of the contestants can step down on him if he humbly step aside now and contest at the appropriate time. You know the northern like power very well, so Jonathan, the solution is humbly come down.

Remember the story of Joseph in the Bible. God showed him in a dream that both his parents and his elder ones will one day bow down to him; remember this came to pass after more than ten years. If it is God's divine arrangement for Jonathan to lead this country, for sure, it will come to pass, let him not rush for what he will regret later.

Goodluck Jonathan's advisers, please advice him well.
With just a single post I can see you joined NL just to state this. Ok we have heard. you may leave now.

Dear writer,
I think you really need to get on facebook to fully understand that it is the new way of communicating. You are so wrong to say that majority of facebook users are only teens. You would be so shocked at who you will find there when you create an account. He declared on facebook and you got to know about it eventhough you are not on facebook, eh?
I think that was a very smart move because even those who were at IBB's rally must have gotten the news on their phones right there at the rally ground and you can imagine what effect that must have had on them. I see nothing wrong with declaring on facebook since the rally is billed for Sept 18.

Infact, for me Jonathan's declaration on Facebook is consistent with the fact that his mindset is in tune with the times and more particularly his target audience are the Youths of Nigeria most of whom live on Facebook. He represents a generational shift which health and a bad wife did not not allow Umar Yar'Adua to showcase. One of Jonathan's strongest point going into this campaign is that the Youth's of Nigeria who are disdained by IBB have come of age and are capable of doing better that their ancestors like IBB who stole and plundered Nigeria with nothing to show for their time. Dare you are living in the bush and completely behind times. Please wake up.

Double Yes to a Humble and Connected President - GEJ
Submitted by Jones Atako (not verified) on September 16, 2010 - 06:25.
Mr. Dare's comments are elitist at best and laden sinister intent of belittling the President at worst. GEJ’s FB post is merely a pre-declaration announcement. The presidency has informed Nigerians that a formal declaration will take place on the 18th of September. Mr. Dare appears to be one of those miss-educated Nigerians that wallow in the illusion of their superiority to everyone else. FB is not for teens! MySpace is the likely destination of the younger crowd Mr. Know-It-All (Dare).

Mr Sunday Dare is entitled to his own opinion but NOT his own FACTS!
Here are some examples of factually incorrect assertions.
1. "They did not take for granted the fact that he was well known to the American electorate and a favored to win." NOT TRUE!
FACT: In 1997, Obama was neither WELL KNOWN to the American electorate nor FAVORED to win.
2. "They chose the step of the Capitol in Washington DC for his declaration, " NOT TRUE!
FACT: On February 10, 2007, Sen. Barack Obama stood before a cheering crowd in Springfield, Illinois (his home state), where he announced he will seek the 2008 Democratic nomination for president NOT Washington DC.
3. "It is unpresidential for the President to choose his face book as a place to officially announce his ambition" REALLY?
FACT: Hillary Clinton declared her intention to run for the Presidency on her website in 2007.

When HE decided to pick his running mate, his supporters were the first to get the news, before it was made public.[/b]AND TO KEEP THE RECORD STRAIGHT, OBAMA DID NOT DECLARE HIS INTENTION TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT IN WASHINGTON DC. You are wrong on where Obama declared; not at the Capitol in Washington.
Sen. Barack Obama stood before a cheering crowd in his home state Saturday and announced he will seek the 2008 Democratic nomination for president.
Invoking the memory of fellow Illinoisan and the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, the first-term senator addressed thousands packed into the Springfield, Illinois, town square on a chilly day in America's heartland.

Just look at IBB achievements! I just can't believe it! An edifice like the THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE was build by IBB. Even everything that makes Abuja tick today was built by him.
Every institution of substance even INEC (was a remnant of his NEC). Nobody has made ANY improvements on IBB's achievements since he left office.
All institutions of the Federal government today from Federal road safety commission, to SSS to National defence college (he called it National war college), . .you name it, IBB did it!

It would have been impossible to send bill to NASS 6 months. Setting up SWF is not overnight business, besides you cannot set capitalisation for the SWF before setting the budget, which also took some time to draw up.

I absolutely condemn Jonathan giving in to The Governors on release of funds from the ECA. That shows weakness and desperation to solidify his political base at any cost, however this SWF move ensures that no weak political leader can ever again be blackmailed into releasing ECA. This is an institutional change which is commendable, and henceforth preempts such from occuring again. It is also pertinent to note that Yara had been releasing ECA due to depression in oil prices affecting the budget. Yara had got fed up with same issue, so this move preempts similar events from repeating itself in future.
Even the strongest of men know that in a democracy , decisions must be taken based on political realities amongst other things. Even "strongman" OBJ was armtwisted by the governors to release that fund for spending.

I am sure everyone knows that opposition governors like Adams oshiomole were frontliners in the push for the release of the funds.

He is 6 months late on leadership on this issue and no better than Yar'adua.

He chose to play politics with this same money for the last 6 months even against the advise of his own economic team.

Now that the politics of that money has shown to be ill-advised and short-sighted . . . .he is simply doing a U-Turn.

The reason he is getting away with all this crap and the reason that you can even propose this headline is because we have an opposition who don't know what they are doing. They would have called him out on this issue ages ago and by now it would have been clear that his decision to finally send a bill to NASS is at best reactionary.

YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!!!!!! HURRAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! JONATHAN IS THE FIRST TO PROVIDE LEGAL FRAMEWORK TO SAFEGUARD OUR NATIONAL SAVINGS AFTER BLOWING 7BILLION IN 6 MONTHS!!!!!!
So a man that gets this done and in 8 months is same as another that never saw the reason to, in over 30 months? i envy your sense of judgement.

Now , what opposition are you talking about. why not first do a check to find out the governors that were asking for the ECA funds to be shared? you will be shocked to find that some of the most vociferous ones where actually of the "progressive", opposition stock.

what is most important is how the hausa/fulani man up north sees saraki and north necessarily his claims. Sunday awoniyi also had his claims but the fulanis knew better. my question now is very simple: . How does the fulani man in katsina see Saraki? ANSWER: he is far less than  a banza bakwai .
