Not sure which part of my post you are replying to. Because if it is the main point, I am shocked at how this is even a debate.

We bought Morata for £60m and sold him for £58m. We bought Havertz for £61m ex add-ons, and sold him on for £65m.

The other guy we bought for £98m. He came in and scored a paltry 8 league goals, but not before destroying the dressing room and sowing discord with his toxicity, and apparent misplaced 'love' for Inter, in an ill-advised interview that dragged the club in the media.

Then we had to loan him (back to the same club he came from) as a result of his shenanigans, for only £7m.

And now we are trying to flog him at any cost to anyone who can take him off us. £98m, plus £20m in wages and 8 league goals later.

That's not how it works. A footballer is a contracted resource, not a paid slave. So you cannot just 'ship their ass' anywhere you like, if the resource doesn't want to go.

My post wasn't about who is ready, just the numbers we have. I have never promoted Casadei as ready.

If you ask me , I think we are taking a huge risk going into the season with a very inexperienced midfield.

Enzo and Caicedo could both pick up injuries at the same time. If that happens, we will be left seriously exposed. I don't know if combination of Veiga and Santos carry us through. I might be wrong though.

Guy man, chill. He's a box-to-box midfielder by playing style so far. However he's 19, has defensive acumen, and can very well be trained to become a sitting DM.

But that will not be happening this season. Therefore, he's not at this point a like-for-like alternative to Lavia.

If we don't sign Lavia, it won't be because we already have Santos.

Andrey Santos obtaining work permit is fantastic news. Very good news. I was no longer expecting this to happen.

Hopefully we can wrap up Caicedo and Lavia, and then we can begin to look forward to something good. It will be an inexperienced midfield of all under 22s - Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Santos, Casadei - but I think it will be great to see what they can do.
