forgiveness: Ferguson was a genius. In his era, Manu was difficult to beat. It is not different from what we are seeing Mancity do under Guardiola.
But Ferguson had won European titles with unknown underdog like Aberdren. Something I doubt Guardiola can replicate with obscure teams. Not taking his achievements from him but I have doubts he can succeed with low budget teams.
Anyway, nothing concern me with Mancity. Na Chelsea ne my focus. Chelsea must challenge next season.
We have a owner who is patient enough to give Poch enough time to improve.
Hopefully, he does well this season and Chelsea will begin a new era.
Poch is good. For him to have taken low budget Tottenham to Ucl finals.
At least, he has tasted victory with PSG. So, I believe he now has winning mentality. That's the key to success.
But I have my reservations about letting all our experience players to exit the club at once. Especially in the mildfield. You should retain at least one.
Mount should not be allowed to go in my own opinion. I share the same sentiment. However, I am relying on the event that for a new manager with completely new ideas, methods and ethos, it might not matter in the end. Poch is in a very rare, Pep-like, point-and-take, manager's dream situation, where he gets to pick his own 25-man squad from scratch if he wanted. He can build and mould his team to the exact dream he always had for his coaching career. It will be a different situation if he had been here for a season or two. What we need to hope for, is that Poch doesn't do a Tuchel, and that he uses this rare opportunity to maximum effect. |

BlueAngel444: It's not about buying players, it's about how u use them
If John Stones, Ake, A kanji were in Chelsea many of u will hate them and want them gone. Gundogan would be too old, Grealish an unproductive shakushaku flop and Haaland an expensive white Lukaku that can't be involved in build up
The only players some of u will rate would be Foden, Mahrez, KDB, B. Silva. Even Rodri some will tell u they can never win a title with them or won with three at the back, they would prefer K. Philips starting instead.
Pep Guardiola is the greatest and most successful football manager alive Thank you very much sir. |

Ibime: We already have Nkunku, Casadei, Gallagher who can do it better plus Carney and Santos who play there and Mount, Havertz who play the same position and haven't been sold yet My thoughts exactly. If the news is true that Poch wants him, then Poch probably either wants him deeper in midfield, or probably wants to play Nkunku on the flanks. I think that Poch is going to class Casadei, Chukwuemeka, and Santos as not ready for first team. I am expecting at least two of those 3 to go out on loan, and that will be a shame. See what's happening with Ian Maatsen and Levi Colwill. |

BlueMann: Those reports must be untrue, cos it doesn't make sense lmao.
Every single initial report stated that PSG were offering more even before the reported increase which forced Chelsea to pull out. The theme has always been "his desire for PL football vs the greater salary offer". So why would he suddenly change his mind, or why would we suddenly pull out if we've always had both PL and salary advantage? The story doing the rounds is that we were illegally trying to hide earnings for Ugarte inside a potential investment deal for Sporting Lisbon, but publicly declaring that we were only offering €2m/year for the player. Someone got a hold of this information, and snitched to PSG. Chelsea found out information had been leaked and dropped all parts of the deal immediately. Some think it's Jorge Mendes who leaked, because of lost earnings from Chelsea not making Felix's loan deal permanent. Check out the story of PSG demanding a legal explanation from Chelsea, before end of business on Friday. They are threatening to report Chelsea to UEFA. Record Portugal staked their reputation on the deal being done. They probably knew what was going on and were correct on Ugarte to Chelsea. They were the ones to come back and report that PSG offered €10m/year and is the reason why Chelsea pulsed out. But this has not been corroborated anywhere else in France. There's several moving parts in the rumours, but there is potential truth somewhere inside. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 1:10am On Jun 06, 2023 |
All reports from France suggest that PSG has not offered Ugarte €10m/year. It is being widely reported that he has gone to PSG for €5m. In fact, L'Equipe is reporting that Ugarte will sign for €3m/year.
If these reports are true, we have cocked up so badly, I have no words. |

Ballzproblem2: 💣 PSG made a huge increase to Ugarte’s salary, they’ve gone from €5m to €10m. This did not go down well with Chelsea who informed all parties they are threatening to leave the deal.
Chelsea though, want to hear from Ugarte now that he will fulfil promises made. (@Record_Portuga
okay Chelsea were right to pull out,no shit 😂 Just read this from Record Portugal. If that's true, then we definitely should not match that and the board would have been right to pull out. I love Ugarte, but he's certainly not worth 200k/week, yet. |

Capaldi: Become Good in what aspect exactly? What exactly is Cho good at? He went to Bayernliga and scored 0 goals with 1 solitary assist. Cho is a bang average player that should have been sold a long time ago. We are very good at keeping deadwoods and loaning them over multiple years instead of selling once and for all. Now this is where I disagree. Footballers are human. The same way your productivity in your profession could suffer a huge decline because you've been transferred to Sokoto - hot sun, new language, new culture, new techniques - is the same way for footballers. Your personal life affects your work. This is the same for footballers who go to other countries on loan. They don't just turn up the button and play football. It may or may not work out, depending on a series of external factors that may sometimes have nothing to do with football itself. Again, it's a simple outlook. I don't hate on players from the academy. They are one of our own. CHO is only 22. It looks like he's been around for ages, because he's been around the team since 16/17. This means the CHO that being called 'ode' is a 19/20 year-old.....but why? He's still a child. Poch knows how to identify talent. And I am just saying with the right tutelage, he just might come good. It's not a ridiculous statement to want a 22 year-old to come good. If Poch says he wants to have a look before deciding, then he has my backing 100%. |

Capaldi: Chelsea getting 60 to 80million for Mount is one of the best deal in football history. Add another 40 to 50million for Gallagher and that's 110million quids in the bag for two mid players. Goes a long way to settle our FFP issues. Even though I disagree with you on some other issues, this right here is 100%. My personal view is ....I cannot rationalise how any fan can show dislike/hate for any player that comes out of our academy. Unless they've been messed up contractually, all those boys aim to player for the senior team. So they care and put in their all. Some are good, and some are average. But we should encourage and support all of them. Those that are good will play; whilst average ones at least get us revenue, to invest in the squad, or protect ourselves against potential financial-doping charges. However, we will never make good money off the average ones, if they never get the encouragement/ support to play. I don't know why it cannot be this simple. |

Griffon: Nateevs I heard that the board heard you this time.
Your boy is here. Loud it boss! He's here! They listened. Trust me boss, we have signed a genuinely serious midfielder. And I say again, he's only 22. If the rumours are true that we will almost definitely get Caicedo, then you have to be excited by what's coming. Enzo, Ugarte, Caicedo midfield will go against any midfield in the PL. |

I always told you what defines it as either a defensive system or an attacking system are 1. the players deployed in the system 2. the starting positions of the players deployed. You didn't consider the profile of the players at the time. Matter of fact, you didn't even see any attacking possibilities of 3ATB. I told you it is the formation of the future, because it allows for tactical flexibility of untold measures but you didn't see the future. You only wanted to concentrate on the defensive side of the debate and flat out refused that any top manager will touch any flavour of it. Well...now you've seen the light. Do you or do you not accept the 3ATB is/can be an elite tactical set up, depending on who is deployed, and who's doing the set up? |
