timbros:Thank you boss. People think this is football manager. |
Ibime:Havertz probably follows. |
lordfalcao:I have been studying Poch's tactics lately, and understood why Poch needed a Declan Rice. I can imagine Rice's either going to Arsenal or we've been quoted first price of over £100m - cash upfront. Unfortunately this is not going to happen. Poch's tactical set-up is why I started to realise that Ugarte is the ideal player for how Poch wants to play. If I am correct, Ugarte will tuck in behind two CBs as an auxiliary CB in attacking transitions, allowing James/Chilly, Gusto/Cucu/Maatsen to bomb forward, providing the width, and allowing the 4-2-3-1 attacking shape to morph into a 3-4-3/3-5-2 formation. Also, Poch is a top manager at moulding young players, so I cannot see anything but a success of this transfer target if he joins. |
swiz123:You are ignoring the ultra-good portions and concentrating on coachable elements. He 22. Extremely malleable at this age. If Poch wants him to sit to earn a place in the team, he will sit. You are talking of a 6-foot, combative midfielder, who has an engine the size of Kante's at the least, with an unusual ability to read passing lanes intelligently, and cut passes off before they happen. Those abilities in one single player don't come around often. Especially when it is apparent at 22. I will take that off the market first, then coach the less desirable off him. |
Capaldi:By this response, you surely don't know Ugarte. Do yourself a favour if you haven't seen him in games, and go watch some YouTube compilation videos. Na Ugarte 6-foot-no-nonsense-combative technical player you dey call small, neat and tidy? If anyone looks and feels like Matic, it is actually Ugarte. |
A001:I think to Chelsea. Apparently Poch's been busy getting in touch with targets and convincing them of the project. Allister and Ugarte in midfield? I am consider that an excellent window for midfield recruitment. Enzo, Allister, Ugarte will go toe-to-toe with any midfield in the world. |
Ibime:True, but we will be short of any meaningful quality for the 8 homegrown players for the 25-man squad. If all those leave, we would have only James, Chilwell, Sterling, and Bettinelli as home grown players. 4 out of 8. Two of those very injury prone or unreliable in the case of Sterling. Now I don't know if Madueke, Maatsen, and Broja will count as HG, considering they all turn 21 before the next season starts. I am assuming they don't. And you can already see the big problem here - severe drop in quality for four of those spots. We would either have to fill those positions with kids, or pay expensively to buy HG players from the league to fill those spots. The question is why should we do either of those, when we already have Mount, Chalobah and Gallagher for free? That's why I laugh at these funny actors like Hesben, who don't understand the rules and wants to sell all English players. It's not going to happen. |
airmark:Of course. But a good loan. Not like going to play with Sean Dyche or Sam Allardyce. The overall point was to show how the Cucurella purchase was just a complete waste of money, considering what we always had in Levi Cowill, Lewis Hall and Ian Maatsen. All three players I have been hyping for years now. |
Finally, we can put this nightmare to bed. The reconstruction begins. We have fewer tournaments to compete in, so the process is not too stressed. @Amoto. Abeg help us find stats for Hall for this game. |
Another world class delivery from Hall goes begging. |
Unbelievable. We just have a ton of players who cannot score. |
ItisHi:Am is see from you is anti-English bias. Is it Cucurella that is spectacular? Or Fofana? Or Felix? Why does he have to be spectacular to be effective?Someone posted stats the other day about Lewis creating 2ce more chances than Cucurella, in over 1000 less minutes, and we are talking about special and spectacular. |
Goodbye Ruben Lotus Cheek. One of our own. We don't care about the racists. |
I hope everyone is seeing how Hall's development is coming along with consistency in minutes. Look at chance after chance after he keeps delivering. With half decent forward, we would have scored at least a couple. And this is a player is who is only 18, and not naturally a left back. |
Amoto94:Now this is what I want to hear. |
swiz123:These criticisms are unfair. We produced these guys for almost nothing. Even if they don't take us to the next level, they will bring in the odd £40m, that allows us to go out there and buy better players. |
BlueMann:Many footballers know this is a freak season. Nothing like this will ever happen again. What players want to see is what we are doing about it. |
A Felix is goal? Hmm |
Wow! |
Amoto94:I expected us to be all over this. No so we go dey slow. Na the £100m dey itch us to spend on top Caicedo. We've seen with Badiashile, not everything has to cost over £30m |
Android17:Beyond this, is the attention to the tiny detail of exact distances between players, and particular attention to who's standing where. The overall idea is to create outlets for each player, in triangles - right, left, forwards or rear of play at all times. When you realize this, it's always fascinating to see. Only elite coaches do this, even though he does have his own flaws. |
omotola90:Hehehe. This will be hilarious if true. Truly, the club never announced this transfer officially. This will be fumble of the century if true. |
Ibime:I agree with the VAT. However, the risk with Mane is perfect in that he's old enough to bring experience, grit, aggressiveness, pace and winning mentality to the front line, but not young enough to block the development of the likes of Mudryk and Mendel. As long as he's on a 2-3 year contact. On Orban, Gent's Manager already conceded he's already too good to be with them and is expecting a bid to take Orban away to bigger leagues. Although I think a more realistic solution would be to buy him and loan him back to Gent for a season. |
Ibime:Yes to Thuram as well. I don't understand why we are not making shrewd signings. Mane is being auctioned for £35m. I will take a forward line of Nkunku, Thuram and Mane, whilst we allow the likes of Mudryk, Madueke and Mendel Idowu to develop and find their feet. Plus we still have Fofana and Broja for striking positions. My first options will still be Hojlund, Orban and Mane. |
BlueMann:There was a part in the first half where he visibly showed frustration at the lack of pressing behind him, after he had sprinted a good 30 yards forwards pressing City players. Poch has a serious lot of work to do. Starting with the mentality, and then a huge clear out. |
Why does Lamps insist on playing Sterling? |
Sterling. Just a poor footballer. |
Look how far we've fallen. |
Leyqute:I did. I rated Kane. In fact, Nihilist remembers calling me out for doing so. ![]() I am not underrating Vlahovic. I am just thinking if €80m is first offer, then €80m will not get him. And that's already very expensive. Especially for 10 goals (12G/A) in Serie A. Meanwhile, Hojlund on the other hand, at 20, is already matching Vla's numbers in the league. He is technically better, more tactically flexible, costs way less and the rest of the money should be going towards buying Gift Orban. |
Jokerman:Here we go. Looks like Poch is trying to recreate a Harry Kane striker. I was thinking someone more tactically flexible. €80m for only 10 league goals? We are not going to win the league next season. Spend that money on Rasmus Hojlund and Gift Orban. |
Ibime:Tell me about it. Boy's already technically better and physically stronger than Hutchinson that's gathering so much noise about little effort. Hopefully Poch gets to see the lad before a final decision is made about his future. I made too much noise over him for him to not feature in the first team. |
