afrodoc: simple changes by RDM that AVB missed
1)Lampard u r old but u hav experience n work rate play a deeper role,u dont have to bomb forward at every opportunity again
2)Mata u r left footed but hv d vision of a player in d hole rather than d speed n athleticism of a winger, leave d left wing n play in d gaddem hole
3)ramires u r tireless, can run both sprints n marathons but cant pass to save ur granny's life, leave d central midfield and race up n down d wings
1. You don't know if RDM would have taken the same decision if he was employed from the beginning of the season. It's folly to think RDM is a genius where he was right there in the middle of all the in-fighting. . . Don't you not think this decision may be heavily influenced by the need to quench the in-fighting rather than ability?

2. I laugh at you guys who think RDM came up with this idea. Do you even remember that RDM worked under AVB? AVB gave an interview in portugal before he was fired and he explained the situation. I will try to find the exact translated transcript but here's the explained one.

AVB says that at the start of the season Chelsea was able to field a confident midfield with only a 6 and with two 8's. The 8's played in between the oponent's lines (in between the midfield and the defense), a midfield confident in direct, incisive passing to the 8s, but, because of the lack of confidence from the players in their passing (due to some bad results) it now had to revert to a double pivot to ease the transitions to the atack. He stresses that he does not intend to use a typical defensive double pivot with two defensive midfielders ("dogs" that track the oponent, he called them), but of two 6's gifted on the ball that are able to link the play up to the number 10.

The use of a number 10 in the current tactics is explained by the need to add creativity, and by the lack of the two 8's, fielded earlier in the season. He than add's that by shifting Mata to the middle, he would need an explosive, incisive left winger, able to take oponents one-on-one, à lá Robben.

He adds that Kalou could be that player (although he didn't sound very confident, i must say), but that the new contract is in still in negotiations.

He explained the Napolli selection in this way, saying that the usual left flank of Cole, Lampard (on the inside), and Mata drifting inside is very atacking and that it had cost Chelsea many goals throughout the season because it exposes too much the left flank, and that he was trying to mitigate the danger of Napoli's right flank.

Now you are trying to tell me RDM figured this out before AVB. . . This is why I argue with you guys. You never fully understand the scope because you don't browse Chelsea news. Making assertive statements about inside issues without enough info is rubbish.

3. However, you can see that Ramires has become even shittier since he was moved to the flanks than when he played in the middle. It's clear for all to see. That's not to say AVB made an error, it's just that RDM believes in other things.

Ibime: You know better than to type this.

Im sure some of you guys said Lamps is too old, he cant play in midfield two etc.

Goals aside, Lamps has been absolutely fantastic playing in a midfield two since RDM took over, showing energy of someone ten years younger, delivering neat passes, pressing and tackling etc.

Lamps and Mikel have forged a great partnership there.

I was expecting Modric to be like Messi since £40m should mean you are head and shoulders above everyone else, but for the umpteenth time this season, he cannot lift his team like a £40m player should. . . . you would have thought that with the fantastic supporting cast of Bale, Lennon, Walker, VDV etc, Spuds should be challenging to the wire. . . .but like I've said all along, Modric is good, but not great.
Ibime. I am not taking anything away from Lampard.
I only used that as analogy for those make arguments about the old guard based on a goal scored rather than the intricate details of overall involvement.

That is rubbish analysis, and those phuckers should not be allowed to make such statements.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That said, Lampard was really really poor against Lison (home) Fulham (away) and Wigan.
Also, I do not think anyone believes Modric is a £40m players. . . just as Torres isn't a £50m player.

afrodoc: LOL.d reason guys r applauding d efforts of d old guard is cos certain pple here on NL n beyond were ascribing d obvious failures of 2 Iberians (one to manage d team as a cohesive unit,d other d score goals)to d old players.
And I repeat for the umpteenth time, the reasons for the disparity in performances is the styles of playing.
Simple!

These certain people will not argue any further if people accept the simple fact that the reason the old guard are "looking better" (even though it's goal scoring only) now is because they cannot play and perform under a different style.

StarBoard: Don't know why some b1tches are getting hot when no one was referring to them.
It's that time of the month for you I guess.
Because someone needs to put you out of your misery.

You are saying sh1t you cannot back up.

Overall performance counts for naught.
Number of balls received, passes completed, tackles made, movement on and off the ball.
Total influence on games, number of key passes all mean zilch.

Phucking highlight fans come on here and scream above their lungs once a player scores a goal.
And this is their defense?

StarBoard: Far Frank strikes.
Yet he is useless beyond redemption.
Why do you make stup1d statements like this?

1. Who claims he is "useless beyond redemption?"?
2. If anyone actually did say that, how does scoring one goal disprove that?

Why do you have a need to be right?
Can you just not post?

StarBoard: Look at his dullard.
As usual you've made silly statements in the past and keep getting caught with the shoe in your mouth.
It's called making the most of your opportunities, which Torres hasn't done all his stay at Chelsea.
But because perspective eludes your tiny brain, you make stu.pid posts like the above, dense know-it-all.
Hehehehehe. You had to come back with all the insults u have to feel some degree of self-importance.
You don't have to get aggressive to shadow ur inability to be logical.

StarBoard: Did Drogba get that ball from the wings,as some folks here keep saying?
A 34-year old striker making everyone else look like muppets with a wonder goal.
Yet when a striker with £170k wages misses an open net when put through on goal, folks tell us he doesn't receive passes from the wings.
Yet when Britain's record buy finds himself in the danger area and slips twice in 5 minutes, someone mentions his boots.
Drogba over Torres all day jare.
Muppet you are. The ball was played long to Drogba.
When Torres plays, the ball is not played long.

I think u should never be in a hurry to make a point.
You just have an insatiable desire to be seen as right.

@Dayo,

I want to answer but I feel it's not the right time. I want to engage your both minds (yours and Ibime's). However, it will get lost in the midst of our Torres arguments.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 2:30pm On Apr 10, 2012
debosky: Forget DD - he came on too late. But Torres couldn't fashion a single shot ALL game and it's just the fault of the wingers?

Amazing escapism. cheesy
Which is exactly why we question the faulty system - the tactics, set-up, players.
You find that so incredibly hard to believe, you watch the highlights and pick the easy target.

You've not answered my question.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 1:09pm On Apr 10, 2012
debosky: Dunno why Nateevs is making a fuss about wingers - Chelski won more corners than Fulham - why didn't the attackers make anything of the corners?

If you have 12 shots with only 4 on target, do you blame the creators for not creating chances or those whose shooting is 66% off target?

Contrast that with the opponents that had 11 shots but 9 on target and the problem gets clearer - poor performance of the strikers/forwards.

In the cold light of day, 4 points from two games in quick succession is a decent result for Chelski at the moment - just look at Tottenham's 1 point in the same period for comparison. Yes Newcastle won both games and are looking good, but they are playing with little pressure and it shows.

What may finally end Chelski's domestic challenge is if/when Ivanovic gets the book thrown at him for the punch on Saturday. If it was Bosingwa that played against Frei yesterday it would've been a massacre.
This is why some of you reach average conclusions. A bunch of stats never always paints a picture. Unless you are willing to discuss in absolute terms, you should never quote stats in isolation of the true picture.

The 15 shots on target were taken by Lampard (5), Mikel (2), Meireles (2), Kalou (2) Ramires (1), Bertrand (1), Cahill (1), Torres (1).

Now let's visit your question again.

If you have 12 shots with only 4 on target, do you blame the creators for not creating chances or those whose shooting is 66% off target?
Do I even need to make a lengthy case? Who are the creators and who are taking the shots off targets? The actors are quick to always lay the blame where it doesn't lie by quoting a few stats. A little scratch off the surface and a lot more problems are revealed.

So I ask you, are you still blaming the attacker? (Which is what you meant by the way. . Not attackers)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 1:19am On Apr 10, 2012
When I was ranting on about our loss to City, dudes with agenda called me names. Saying I was looking issues where there wasn't one. When people like us are seeing beyond the surface, others are calling for managers to be fired. Had AVB still been manager, I cannot tell u how this place will be filled posts about how crap the manager isafter the last 3 games.

Where are the impostors like afrodoc now? Trying to tell me how different Chelsea have been. When you try to explain the new manager effect, they can't see it. They say it's not the players. Minus 3 dubious goals in a row and we've lost 4pts. The same fundamental problems persist.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 9:41pm On Apr 09, 2012
OMO IBO: Surely you can't help me Nateevs.
You need to help yourself.

They have foiled every form of attack towards their goal....however little it may be.

I'd like to believ you are deliberately being obtuse. Else, there's no need for an argument. Seriously Nateevs. . .C'mon!
No I am not.
On the contrary you sound as though you are echoing the views of a radio commentator.

There is a context within which you are allowed to use "defending well" without looking like a dummy.
Do you put a bunch of 18-year olds against pros and say the pros are defending well because they have dealt with "everything thrown at them" without defining what "everything" is in the first place?

Are you listening to yourself at all?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 9:34pm On Apr 09, 2012
Ofcourse he dived. That's the second game in a row we are getting decisions by the ref.
We are so poor we cannot even create half a decent chance.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 9:23pm On Apr 09, 2012
OMO IBO: LMAO
Nateevs, I need not be specify anything.
Apart from the goal in the first half they dealt with everything that came their way. I mean everything.
Preposterous.
I am watching this game dude.
They seem to have dealt with everything coming their way because nothing is coming their way.
If that is your definition of "defending well" then I cannot help you.

It's not like we've unleashed an avalanche of attacking moves on them and they've defended with their lives.
They've been on holiday. We've had only 2 shots on target - one the keeper dealt with because it came straight at him, the other was the penalty.

That's why you need to be specific. Are you even watching this game?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 9:10pm On Apr 09, 2012
OMO IBO: I'm guessing if it's not a cleared cross/swing then it is safe to assume they haven't done anything.

Nateevs, How about cleared corner kicks.
Attacks stopped even before they are hatched

Are those not part of defending as well? Nateevs??
Then you must be specific about what part of "defending well" you refer to.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 8:52pm On Apr 09, 2012
OMO IBO: Same difference Nateevs.
They've dealt with everything thrown at them.

Goal
Penalty
Not quite.
In 45mins of football, neither Ramires on the right or Kalou on the left has put in a single cross - marked or unmarked.
It's been a gigantuan disaster from a team hoping to be top four.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m): 8:43pm On Apr 09, 2012

Fulham are defending very well or Chelsea's wingers and Midfielders lack any sort of creativity and purpose?
Are you listening to commentary?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by nateevs(m):
StarBoard: The reason £170k is a big deal in relation to Rooney (£200k),Toure and Adebayor is that the latter trio have put in shifts consistently over thf course of this season that make you accept their wages and excuse them for the odd bad day.
£170k is a big deal when a striker goes a full day without scoring when you add up his minutes.
£170k is a big deal when a striker can miss in front of an open goal.
Yeah strikers miss chances, but not as ridiculous as your dullard striker.
£170k is a big deal when a striker at a big club bought at a record fee can't boast of double digit goals tally in April but a supposed selfish striker played out of position at the same club does
Dude, you are the landlord of your mouth. Gist anything you like.
When Chelsea moves into the next phase of rebuilding next season - players with good technique fill the midfield, brilliant wingers are throwing in crosses from all over - and Torres is banging them in, we will be here telling how we see beyond what highlight fans like you don't see.

I can't even begin to tear your post apart. You probably cannot give three instance of Torres missing a chance in front of goal this season yet you come out with drivel like:-

Yeah strikers miss chances, but not as ridiculous as your dullard striker.
Why don't you tell us about the chances Torres has missed which happen to be "way more ridiculous" than other strikers?
You must also be able to tell us how you have cross checked every other striker in Europe this season and not a single one missed chances "as ridiculous as" Torres' one(s).

Another member of the 'Torres is 5hit' bandwagon.

ritchboy: Surely a selfish player is better suited to being a center forward than a winger.
Which is why CA, AVB, RDM and Capello have all never deployed him as a CF right?

Torres apologists are always quick to say he didn't price himself at £50m, but the bottom line is the £170k which he "priced himself" at demands far better performances. Four goals in fourteen months? Nucca, I could divide
And you have ears on the street that inform you that he priced himself at £170,000 right?

Give it a break bro. Everyone can see that that guy is not living up to expectation. He's been a flop so far, and it doesn't seem he's going to change that soon despite all the playing time he's had under RDM.

I know which one I'd pick.
Get your priorities right son.
No one is having an either or argument here.

Torres has proven on the top stage and Chelsea bought Torres to lead the attack.
Sturridge plays on the wing. In an ideal situation, they will play together.
It will stay that way.

Danny is horribly selfish to lead the attack of a top team.
This isn't bloody Bolton. Dude has a phucking lot to learn and that's why he bloody plays on the wing.

CA, AVB and RDM all cannot be wrong. In fact, Lukaku, Patrick Bamford and Islam Feruz all will play in CF for Chelsea before Sturridge with all the talent he (Danny) has.

OMO IBO: What's the megedefegedefe you are yarning about DS.
Did DS slip twice while through on goal?
In your opinion is DS as good as Torres?

Your answer is irrelevant cos DS has been played out of positiion all season yet has more goals than your world class Torres.

Dude, give it a rest abeg. Torres na plank!
Slipping twice through on goal is the only act worthy of a rant right?
Taking useless shots when a teammate is in a better position is not worthy of rants. . .
Oh I see, he's been played out of position. . That's why you can't fucking pass the ball to a teammate? Is that the excuse you are giving Sturridge?

And how are you rubbish because you slip anyway?
Please explain why you think a player is rubbish because they slipped ?
