Sorry was in meetings

That means your initial was around N6m

Is that the 364 tenor or the 91 day tenor

I do back that to beat Dollar in the short term but you will not renew at those yields consistently for 25 years, and if you do, God help Nigeria.

Dollar has returned 12.5% average for the last 20 years in comparison, so for comparison, multiply by whatever % bamboo is offering to back test it, which is in your case (1.125 x 1.08) = 1.215 or 21.5%

I highly doubt anyone in money market is offering 8% for dollar fixed deposit though. That figure is suspect. Best the market offers is sub 4 or 5 at best.

If you want to be agile, you can play the T bills short term and switch later, if you want to rest, buy dollar. But who is Bamboo? They must be suicidal to offer 8%, I won't put more than NDIC will insure there sha.
I can confirm Stanbic offered 7% for 2024.

Yeah, my wife is in favour of TBills. Me on the other hand, I want to move my USD to interest savings or convert to naira and invest on TBills.
My only issue is the interest rate of the dollar savings. Only 8%.
Stanbic and first banks are doing 21% while Ecobank is lower?
Thanks for the info.
It will also depend on what fraction of your funds you want to delegate as safe funds, and of course, your general risk appetite.

If you have the time, fortitude and the patience, you can do way more than 8% swing-trading stocks on the NSE. I average way more than that.

I ain't sitting on 8% when my money can do more.

Here's my issue.
I set up a treasury bill for my son with an instruction for renewal at maturity for both interest and capital for 25years. That's with Ecobank and the interest rate was 18%. If it continues for 25years, he will have about 514m give or take due to the amount of capital I used.

Now, I also use bamboo for investment. I saw a dollar fixed deposit at 8%. My plan is to set it up for myself since my wife's own is with standard shattered bank.

I chose bamboo because it is investment friendly. I can buy stocks from Nigeria and US.

Your comment is making me think about leaving it in the dollar for that 8% instead of chasing the treasury bill on bamboo for 20%.

My target is long term.

If you were in my shoes, what would you do with the above information?
Then hedge. Do 50/50%. I have stronger expectations for TBills in Naija over the Dollar, long term. I would do 60/40% in favour of TBills.

But then eyes wide open at all times. Anything can go left at anytime.

Meanwhile, why don't you look at Stanbic, First Bank money market rates at 21%?

I’m ALL for finding waste and corruption and revamping things after a thoughtful and intelligent examination. I would be fine with cutting or reducing programs that I feel are important if there was justification for it.

But this Willy-nilly slash and burn thoughtless destruction of jobs and entire programs is crazy. And those that do not see or understand the danger are either so brainwashed they can’t see it or too deeply entrenched to admit they may have made a mistake here and this needs to be stopped, or are just so full of bitterness and hatred that they will cut off their nose to spite their face as long as who ever they hate is hurting too.

I don’t get people who are still cheering and saying THIS is what they voted for. I don’t get it.
Like I have said, it's all a sham. Follow the money. If they were intent on cutting waste, they would have started at the Pentagon.

They don't have the balls to go after the Military Industrial Complex where toilet seats are being sold at $10k a piece, but want to convince us the wastage at USAID is what the US needs to get back on it's feet.

There is a reported $125bn (estimated) wastage, but they are not starting there first. They want to continue keeping 800 military bases over the world but remove entire agencies that support families.

The SHEEP will shout TDS and pretend like they are making sense. They will cut their noses to spite their faces and find stupid reasons to explain why Trump has just said he's above the law.

It's not a plan to curtail wastage. It's a sham to make more money, and consolidate power.

How will our wingers thrive when your bald fraud have them stationed so wide while Enzo is expected to overload the box. Full back overlapping runs helps wingers to thrive, this is common knowledge. For eg, look at the amount of goals Raphinha has scored because he fully inverts while Balde plays as a quasi winger when Barca are in possession. Dembele is another example too. He is dangerous because Hakimi's runs makes him unpredictable. While our wingers might not be that good, Maresca certainly has made them worse.

But your fraud has our own overload the midfield while we still concede like an amateur team and you are here expecting me to single out Enzo for criticism.

Look at what he did to James the once acclaimed best right back in the world!! He had him fully playing DM while we were chasing the game. Maresca is nuts and will soon get what he deserves.
You still have an understanding problem. Again, no one has asked you to single out Enzo for criticism in a post where I just mentioned our number one problem to be wingers. Your obsession with this topic makes me think you are trying to get ahead of a larger debate in time.

Maresca has not made anything worse. You were not saying this nonsense when we were high-flying, and fans at The Bridge were chanting "we've got our Chelsea back". Now y'all are forming online tactician.

And this overlapping fullback talk is half information. Every single formation has a deficiency. It's like the anti-3ATB back in the day of Tuchel and Conte who complained about community defending saying we don't have enough attackers. You can only have overlapping FBs when you pay 4ATB. We don't play 4ATB.

And suddenly we are trying to say he did something to James? Really? James has barely been fit to play for 10 games. If you think Maresca does not know that James has lost the fitness to bomb up and down the right flank without breaking, then you don lost your mind.

James must be conserved and managed. You either have him in a conservative role for now, or you lose him altogether. It's called player management, and Maresca knows a thing about that.

I think CNN and MSNBC are vastly different than Fox News. Fox News makes up stories. If you watch them you will be less informed.
CNN and MSNBC largely report the stories accurately. The difference is in the bias. CNN is controlled by a Conservative so has a slight conservative bias. MSNBC does report the stories accurately, but they do editorialize in favor of more liberal causes. Fox new purposefully lies so that their viewers are less informed and does it favor Republicans and now the far right.
I wasn't drawing equivalence between all 3 to be honest. Not even close.

I was only stating that I will use far more independent media outlets to support a point, in order to promote fair and balanced debates.

I got your message loud and clear. You are blaming Enzo for our weak midfield and hence why we are not competitive. That's a big lie! Same lie was peddled here by the usual culprit while Jorginho was here until Tuchel won the UCL with him.

Tackle the obvious problem which is Maresca and quit trying to be sleek.
Not loud and clear enough it seems. I have always said that our biggest problem is the lack of inventiveness on the wings. Everything else is in second place.

If our wingers are able to pin back the opposition constantly with good decision-making, persistent chance-creation, and goal threats; then it reduces pressure on our midfield and as such, an Enzo inclusion is not apparent as a major problem.

When our wingers are timid, don't create enough, and can't score, then you need a solid midfield to protect the defence and ride slim wins. In such instances, an Enzo inclusion becomes a big liability.

You get the difference?

Marmoush would be worse than these names in a Chelsea shirt. I don’t think I’ve seen enough of Maresca’s genius to write some of our lads off.

Neto, Madueke and to a certain degree Sancho would all thrive in Pep’s system.
I saw enough of Madueke under Poch and now under Maresca to know he will not thrive in Pep's system.
Madueke is lazy, pompous, a poor trainer, and has very average decision-making.

To be honest, I don't think Mahrez was any more hardworking than Madueke is, but the decision-making at crucial times was the difference. Madueke has this frightening pace that puts defenders on the back-pedal, but he does fuckall with it, when he gets into interesting positions.

It was the same complains last season I had about him and Sterling.

Neto and Sancho, I am still not sure about.

That analysis was hot bullshitt. One player can never be the reason why a whole team is shiit. Maresca's system is exposing every player. Striker, wingers, midfielders, defenders and goal keeper. Everyone look mid, even Jorgensen we hoped will be different is also shitt.

I have watched football long enough to know that once everyone appears to be mid, then the coach is 💯 at fault.
Abeg dress. The midfield of a team is usually the difference between a solid team and a weak team.

Whilst one player can be the difference between a firm midfield and a porous one, there's no where I mentioned in my analysis that one player is responsible for the the team's issues.

This is really great. I'm happy that you're making analysis and creating still images on what a world class defender would've done in that situation and save Chelsea from leaking goals. Jackson wasn't on the pitch so the still images doesn't touch him. This really great.

Jackson isn't Chelsea calibre but he's better than the current options and of course he wasn't the main problem.

There are no defenders at Chelsea. Tosin is not good enough, Colwil is a baby defender, James hospital, Nwa Jehovah always jittery in key moments, like there's no coordinator at the back and of course there's no goal keeper.

I'm glad you're being honest with this egbon and not defending as usual

But did you consider this when you said
"You're not writing off Any player until poch leaves?
I said I will not write off any players until I see them under another manager. I said that because until the last 5 games of last season, there was nothing tactical about Poch. I said that because I needed to see players in strict tactical positioning. I have seen enough now of some players, and now know that nothing can be done about them.

Enzo for instance, I didn't jump on his case like Ibime did early on. I kinda felt there was a tactical way to balance using Enzo in the midfield without major midfield overload from the opposition in defensive phases of the game. Which is why I applaud how Maresca deploys the inverted defender.

The problem is that Enzo as an attacking player is also a problem. He's the main reason Maresca's double 8 doesn't work in attack. He's probably good in a slower league. In the PL, he's a complete misfit. He's like one of those Jorginho/Pirlo-like players that like to roam at the base of the midfield for long passes. Not mobile enough to join the attack in correct timings, not nimble enough to dribble and be press-resistant, and really, almost no goal-sense.

Unfortunately, he's the same in the defensive phases of the game. Take that dude out and put in like a Szobozlai/Guimares type player, and you'd see the instant impact with Maresca's tactics in double 8s alongside Palmer, one 10/one 8 or even double 6s alongside Caicedo. Lavia could've easily become this player apart from the offensive side, but then he can't get more than 3 games before he breaks down.

This is why I now concede that we have a personnel problem this season.

The problem we have now is that it's all gone extremely political. Owners want to save face and act like all their decision-making have turned out correct. They employ a manager who's expected to toe the line, follow the narrative and protect the value of the asset.

I say Maresca should say phuck it, I changed my mind. I do it my way, or I walk. But Maresca is not Poch in profile. Poch can easily walk into a top four job in any league in the world, whereas it is a once-in-life-time opportunity for Maresca. So he can't just say phuck it.

The problem is the owners.
