airmark:Again, my washed Sterling. When did he become my washed Sterling? |
bemeruca:You mean you are both guys. |
raumdeuter:It's funny how you keep making this promises made, promises kept statements as though it's supposed to be intriguing in this instance. I don't care the promises kept. I care about the by-products of this whole shit-fest. I care about the richest man in the world having an office next to the most powerful man in the world. I care about the conflict of interests that emanate from such improper alliances and how it potentially affects the world. I care about Billionaires licking ass, towing the line, and becoming yes men. I worry about a powerless HOR and Senate, who now have no power to checkmate Executive excesses for fear of being primaried by guess who?... yes, the richest man in the world. I care about the erosion of resistance to tyranny, racism and discrimination across all levels of government. I care about the likes of Stephen Miller having power in government. I care about all the racists coming out of hiding, who now think that by extension, they have a mandate to be outrightly racist and discriminatory. I care about a Senate that has started to talk about handing Trump a 3rd term. I worry about the message that neo-autocratic governance would send to the world, if perpetuated by the US, the supposed guardians of the strongholds of Democracy. As you already know, I don't live in the US. I live in the UK. And like you, I have not been raced against for 20 years. I have been in business with predominantly English folks for over a decade and never had to question my blackness. But because it doesn't/ didn't happen to me doesn't mean it's not prevalent. And to be insensitive to it is either flat-out stupidity or just politically-naivity of insane proportions. It is not a prediction. I guarantee you, and you will see it with your eyes. At some point in the near future, the blacks and the Latinos that enabled this shit-fest will wish they didn't. |
bemeruca:I can't tell these guys apart. It's this the one that lives in the US or the one in Nigeria? |
airmark:It is not a Sterling v Madueke debate. How many times do I have to tell you? I already conceded that Madueke should not be added to this particular topic. Why are you still hoovering around this point? Can't you just move the hell on? |
airmark:This is the problem with you. You have suddenly turned this into a Sterling v Madueke argument. It is not. Do you even remember what it is? |
bemeruca:I told you it was a non-existent issue, parroted by stupid people to avoid criticism. You realise anyone can edit/update Wikipedia, including you, right? The fact that one of you goes the extra mile of putting it on Wikipedia is no proof of existence. I am not a Democrat but I see the number of times you guys mention Democrats every single day as well. It that equally DDS? |
basilico:You are incoherent. When you can explain what TDS is, then feel free to hit me up. |
basilico:This is not a smart response. |
bemeruca:Again, there is no such thing as TDS. You are quoting names but not explaining exactly what it is. |
bemeruca:There is no such thing as TDS. It is a stupid acronym coined and used by stupid people to deflect from real argument. |
basilico:I read the news. The DOJ releases a bulletin, I read the bulletin. That's news, not MSNBC talking points. What did you think there will be no negatives of all these Executive Orders? Why are you bothered that someone is reporting the negatives? This is like my Latino buddy who voted Trump, reality don dey set in. Dude is now scared that he might lose his citizenship, because his parents were undocumented. I am like sorry buddy, but did you think they will not try to remove citizenship retrospectively? He thought that would be a crazy move, I am like who would stop them? That's one negative instance of one EO, and that's the reality of voting Trump. Nothing to do with Democrats or MSNBC or CNN. |
raumdeuter:The talk be like Latinos who are now saying they didn't think he was going to do all he said he would. This matter don pass whether or not he's doing what he said he would. I believed him 100%. The question now is the reality of actually doing what he said he would. You sound like you were never a Nigerian. This is the how third world countries are governed. But more importantly, this is the beginning of autocracy in the US, and you are celebrating it. For someone who has black children in the US, it will not be "greatness to greatness" for them, when white racists people start to push for Brown v Board to be abolished. You think you belong to a movement. Like I said, one of these dey come to a bus stop near you very soon. |
basilico:Please take each point, and research it. I made the list myself because I am documenting this impending decline in 5D. I am not a Democrat. I report facts and have no time for blind idiocy. |
airmark:When you answer like that, then you are docking a potential factual debate for fear of losing. To be honest, I don't want to get into this debate as well because you have started that thing again. For the record, I am staunchly anti-Sterling and NOT anti-Neto/Sancho at this point. |
airmark:Remove Madueke and do the same for Neto and Sancho. |
airmark:Let's not go there Airmark. You and i don't support Sterling. But Sancho, Neto and Madueke, combined have not even matched half of Sterling's dross. But they are still here. Why? |
Caicedobets:And you lack critical thinking ability because according to you, viewing centre thugs are going to break your head open with bottles. I have been a Chelsea fan since before you were allowed to go watch games by yourself in viewing centres. The people who hired Maresca have paid and invested a combined £3.3bn so far. That's more money than you can make if you came for 5 lifetimes, paid into one club. They support Maresca. But your N500 viewing centre ass thinks they are enemy of the club too abi? ..... and you are more passionate than they are...... because they support Maresca? Alhaji, I have told you to dress go one side. Dress go one side permanently. |
raumdeuter:What's been awesome about the first few days? He has done the following so far: 1. Pardoned violent rioters 2. Pardoned a drug dealer 3. Threatened to remove birthright, 4. Sacked 18 IGs from Federal Agencies, 5. Frozen all Police Reform Agreements. Agreements of reform including the proper use of force and discrimination by Police. 6. Started full implementation of ScheduleF of Project 2025. 7. Frozen the DOJ's Civil Rights Division. This is the department that looks after voting rights, election law, discrimination etc. 8. Issued order to DOJ cancelling all job offers to young lawyers after the hiring freeze signed by EO ... to name a few. These are just a few I have been noting myself. Are you truly celebrating this? Shit is coming to a bus stop near you soon Dayo. |
Ibime:I was about to say the same thing. Never more than $500 for me. |
Caicedobets:So I see you have no real views of your own, so you align your views with thuggery of viewing centres, for fear of not being stabbed by the UP-Shesi wing of the fan base. Right? Abeg dress go one side. Viewing centre analyst |
diggz:If i have to explain this, then it means you guys are not following the news from your club keenly. Clearlake specifically announced that they were looking for a coach and not a manager. The coach will have autonomy over all on-field activities, but will relinquish decision-making about personnel to the owners and TDs. Basically a yes man! How are you just knowing this? The ruthlessness being praised was therefore in the action of being able to enforce what was needed by the board, ruthlessly. The directors put Chalobah up for sale, so rightly he didn't play him. Nobody came in for Chalobah until deadline day, and so he was sent on loan. Same for Chilwell and Sterling because the board wanted to align wage bill. How are you just knowing this? And so consequently, the high-line is an on-field activity which he has autonomy over. So asking if he should or should not do that is silly. Also, it nearly worked. If Palmer had weighted his pass well to Jackson, it would have been 2-0 and it will be a different story. Managers make mistakes all the time. I don't see anyone having anything to say when he win 10 on a bounce. Instead I am seeing people revising history now, saying we were only 2nd on the top because others under performed. |
drisham:Guys what is wrong with you? Why are you talking like this? We were one victory against Everton from going top of the table until the Liverpool game for that weekend. Are you claiming Liverpool was messing up as well? If Arsenal and City performed as well as we did in the same period, we would all be joint second. The way you guys forget history and change alliances on a whim. It's alarming. |
diggz:I do not share the same view on the use of Sanchez. I criticised Poch for playing Sanchez. I only said I understand the tactical reason behind using Sanchez. The whole of January has come and gone, why are you not asking the board why they haven't brought in a new goalie? Have they not been seeing the mistakes from Sanchez? Do you think if Maresca has a better goalie, he wouldn't use him? |
Caicedobets:You better stay the f..uck away from my mentions. What part of my profile spells viewing centre type to you? |
rooftops:I am not. You guys are trying to rewrite history. It's just surprising this history is only a few weeks old. If Maresca was not an instant hit, and was losing 1 game and drawing 2 for every 3 and 4 respectively, we would all have been saying he's bedding in, considering only Championship experience, but he needs to pick up the pace asap. Go look at the expectations of all football pundits after Maresca was hired. Every single one of them expected Chelsea to finish worse than Poch. So where's all that expectation gone? I know where. Maresca came in and won 10 on a bounce, finishing top of the league in ECL with exceptional performances and squad management. And now, naturally, expectations have adjusted accordingly. For that reason, it is unfair to him to say it is inconsequential that we rose to 2nd. It is the most consequential thing. It shows that with a few very good decisions, he can get even more out of the team. As a matter of fact, Maresca has been so good, everyone expected us to take full 3 points against Everton and climb into 1st place, until Liverpool. Do you understand the magnitude of that achievement in only 6 months? Instead of bashing him, we should be helping him to find out what's gone wrong, the reason for this slump, and how we can help him get back to this winning ways. |
airmark:What are you talking about? Who abandoned who? |
Android17:You have completely misunderstood context here. I say this again..... This season alone, Maresca has played 4 at the back, 3 at the back, inverted left back, inverted right back, inverted LB into 6, inverted LB into 8. Inverted RB into 6, inverted RB into 8. 2 attacking 8s, 2 defensive 6s, one DM, and one floating 6/8..... Palmer on the right 8, Palmer on the left 8.........To add to this, he's played high block, medium block, and low block at different times in the season.... all in a bid to achieve results. Whilst at this, with largely the same players, no team has completely outplayed us all season. We've looked at every moment capable of dispersing any team, technically and tactically. Arsenal, a title competing side last season played defensively against us in our first meeting. That's fucking miles of progress in less than 6 months. Again, with largely the same players. For context, Poch played almost the exact same way every single game, until the last 5, where he started inverting only the LB. In fact, it was the only clear formation/tactical modification he tried all season. We were lucky he was trying it out for the last 5 games of the season. By the 6th games, teams would have started to figure out how to play us, and we would have been back to no- clue management style. This was a guy who was playing Colwill at LB, Chilwell at LW. We were out-played almost every single game, losing embarrassingly to Arsenal 5-0, and couldn't beat Liverpool kids with a full strength squad. He played all season long with no identifiable pattern of attack, tactics or player development. In contrast Maresca has shown us the capability of every single player, and possibly, the limit of every single player. As opposed to Maresca, Poch had the autonomy of identifying the talents of Andrey Santos, Lewis Hall, Angelo Gabriel, Ian Maatsen, but didn't. Instead, sent them all out on loan. Instead he played his first 11 into the ground running running running, instead of tactical work, as corroborated by even his own players. So yes, pound for pound, Maresca has shown with less autonomy, power, and manegerial experience that he can do more with less and inexperienced resources. And so yes, Maresca deserves more tools, more time, more support. It's not contradicting argument. |
rooftops:And my view is that Mareca's tactics took us up to 2nd this season. A feat Poch could not smell at his best. Maresca did not advertise himself as a PL winning manager before your owners hired him. So what is the misplaced outrage about? |
rooftops:We had a very strong Chelsea team on a downward slope to 11th with JM in charge. And tactics did not help at that time of the crisis. What were your views at the time? |
wman:Carry your vex and meet the owners. Which one concern Mareca? This season alone, Maresca has played 4 at the back, 3 at the back, inverted left back, inverted right back, inverted LB into 6, inverted LB into 8. Inverted RB into 6, inverted RB into 8. 2 attacking 8s, 2 defensive 6s, one DM, and one floating 6/8..... Palmer on the right 8, Palmer on the left 8. Please don't tell me about Maresca not being tactically flexible. Y'all may not be paying attention. Meanwhile, your owners and Directors are implementing a ban on transfers for over 25s. Your owners are leaving Madueke in the team as our main RW, Sanchez as our main GK, no experienced CBs, Andrey Santos on loan, stock-piling kids, selling English players and Academy for profit - Gallagher, Hall, Chalobah, Odoi, etc. Then they had one full month to address the matter, and not a single player walked through the door. Instead we shamelessly went to recall a defender they said had to be frozen out? There's 3 goals between Sancho and Neto so far all season, and you want magic. Please leave Maresca out of this shit abeg. How many of your favourites can take this team to 2nd place on the table? Abi you think it was by luck? |
Android17:Still no. Poch is supposed to have over a decade's worth of top division football experience. He was here for a full year, and no Chelsea fan could identify us with any reasonable way or method of playing. Maresca had only one full season of Championship football ever; yet has immediately imprinted his style and methods on the team, clear for everyone to understand and see. The fact that he's contending in the same result zone as Poch, show that tactically and technically, he's miles ahead of Poch. Poch was not treated unfairly abeg. On top of this, Maresca is a yes man in his own employment, with no absolute power over who stays, who leaves and quite frankly, who he must play because of circumstances of their contract length. Given all the conditions, he's doing fantastically well. Is he going to make rookie mistakes? Yes. Absolutely! All those yapping are talking out of context. None of your favourite top class managers would work under these conditions, let alone produce results. Let's dead that matter finally. With Maresca I stand. Give him the tools to work with, and he will do well. |
