AutoJoshNIG: Alagbole-Akute-Ajuwon is the part of Ogun state that shares borders with Ojodu-Berger axis of Lagos state. Many of the residents there work in Lagos state.
For close to a decade, it has been a hellish experience for residents of that location, especially commuters that ply roads there.
Roads in Akute, Alagbole, and Ajuwon have been in the most atrocious condition for years.
The delay in their rehabilitation of these roads can be blamed on the delay in the construction of flyover bridges there - one in Alagbole-Yakoyo axis, and another at Akute.
The construction of the bridges there has taken a massive toll on roads in Akute, Ajuwon, Lambe and neighbouring communities.
The rehabilitation of roads in Alagbole-Akute-Ajuwon axis was designed to be the concluding part of the construction of the 2 flyover bridges.
Almost a decade after, one of the bridges is barely at its completion stage, with the extending roads yet to be constructed. It struggled to reach its current stage before the last general election and by extension the exit of Ibikunle Amosun as the Governor of Ogun State. The second bridge at Akute has been completely abandoned.
As a result of this, the construct the adjoining roads have been completely abandoned. Thereby, leaving roads around there terrifically degraded. Commuters and motorists who ply the roads regularly often have reasons to wail.
With the new government of Ogun State led by Prince Dapo Abiodun still trying to settle down to its numerous responsibilities, it is uncertain when succor will eventually come to residents of Alagbole-Akute-Ajuwon.
Alagbole, Akute, Ajuwon are in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
How about the roads he did? You need to always stop all these biased analysis and reports. Stop allowing yourself to be used for playing politics. Even if a governor worked 24 /7 throughout the tenure, all the roads in a state cannot be done. Politics no good for you o. Better stick to what you do.
MathsEconomics: We cannot do anything to save Mathematics in Nigeria.
I will take out my time to discuss some of the challenges anyone who attempts to bring Mathematics culture into Nigeria will experience.
1. FUNDING. Sometime last year I saw a coursemate of mine in school with a man, they were both busy struggling on problems set at Nigerian Mathematics Olympiad. When I approached them, they showed the problem to me and I sat down with them and after some minutes, I gave them a solution to the problem. The man with my friend is actually a Vice Principal in a secondary school that participated for the Olympiad(Round1) and he immediately asked me if I would be able to train his students which I accepted. Everything was going smooth with the tutoring and the kids were actually learning topics such a Polynomial anpropertiesal equations, Floor functions and its properties, Sums and Products, Classical inequalities, etc.
But after two months the school authorities asked us to end the programme and that they prefer to focus on Seplat, Cowbell, etc where they're sure there is money and that Olympiad is too difficult and yet the students are not awarded in millions like Cowbell.
Funding is actually a big problem. And this actually brings up the next factor
2. COLLECTIVE EFFORTS
Success in Mathematics Olympiad is not something that secondary school education can achieve, not even in the most advanced country in the world today. School Mathematics do not cover Geometry topics such as Isogonal Conjugates, Harmonic bundles, Barycentric coordinates, etc. Yet these are powerful problem solving tools essential for success in the Olympiad. In Hungary, Mathematicians we're actually the ones involved in training the students for this competition. Von Etovos(A scientist) established Maths Olympiad in Hungary and it several other top Mathematicians like J. von Neumann and Paul Erdos all took part of the Hungarian Mathematics Olympiad.
In Russia, the Mathematician Kolmogorov was even involved in setting Olympiad problems and encouraging the students to work hard in Mathematics. Russia has produced several profound Mathematicians from this Olympiad.
Same thing happened in China. At first, China was not even performing well at the Olympiads but their top Mathematicians took part and training the students and today they're literally the best.
What we have in Nigeria is university professors and lecturers. I am not aware of the existence of any internationally Mathematician in this country. This is hardly surprising because our education system does not encourage productive thinking.
I am thinking it will be nice if we can start from the basics, you know? Like create a platform for students, like going to the government schools to start a project or adding them on for Mathematica mentorship etc. I observe that the foundation is the problem. I have taught in a government school before moving to an international school. While I was there, I had to volunteer to start taking maths, furthermaths and physics as the teachers handling them were nothing to write home about in terms of mastery and knowledge. The best brains are not in education and this is so sad. I am not a core mathematician by training as I am a computer scientist. So, I am not so much familiar with the very advanced concepts you mentioned. I know you are pained by our horrendous performances at the Olympiad but we need to crawl before walking. The foundation is already skewed negatively so we need to start from there. China has about 154 gold medals at the Olympiad. Nigeria has just 5 bronze medals. Although, we started participating after the new millennium but that's not an excuse. Are you in Lagos?
NkayStory: You sound so pained, bitter and rejected...You have been wailing on this thread since morning!.,seriously dude get a life now,no matter how small!
No way in hell are you the person you described yourself to be!...Just bile, frustrations and bittetness all over you..
Sheesh!
You term schooling you as wailing? What exactly have you been wailing about? Please, concentrate on the subject matter and provide a rebuttal to anything you feel is not right in there. This is the same thing as what I mean when I say a lot of you lack substance. You lack the intellectual capacity to discuss on an open subject. You would be fighting a losing battle if you think I will stoop so low to engage you in a 'bolekaja'. If you do not have any meaningful thing to say concerning my post or the topic, kindly desist from quoting me.
Toseenlove: A very nice analysis to counter his post. I was surprised with the guy's overzealousness with stupidity and Ignorance smhh.
I'm telling you. I even conducted a social experiment at a time and observed that most times, ladies do not like being cared for. If you care for them too much, they hardly appreciate. Only ladies who have advanced in age or those who have gathered enough experience do appreciate care but for a bulk who are just still suffering from the looking glass self syndrome, they prefer to be treated like beasts. They love it when they cannot get to you. They are like shadows, you follow them, they run away. You get back from them, they follow you.
Another thing that has contributed to their acts is their low self worth, low self esteem and their pursuit for security and financial security and fame seems to take the lead now. With a snap of the fingers, most of them will part their legs for whizkid even if he will throw them into the bins after. There is also a serious hunger in the land. So, when they meet you, they quickly do a an analysis of your pocket and if it does not seem like it matches their long throat, you start getting the "K" treatment.
In my social experiment, I observe that the way they react when you drive is also different to the way they do when you do not. Once you put them in the passenger side and turn on the ice cold AC, half of their life problem is solved. Some will even follow you home right away for sex. When I drove a brand new car, I have been wooed right there in the car a couple of times. You offer someone a ride, they will ask for your name, where you work etc. When it is time for some to even get off, they will be reluctant because you didn't ask for number. If you get off the car in shorts and slippers, they will even respect you if they see you but if they had seen you ordinarily in same manner, they won't even give you attention. This is why they fall for beasts who will package for them, bang the hell out of them and drop them into the trash cans. Just as women have inner beauty, some men have inner money that takes only a sensible lady to figure out.
NkayStory: Yeah righ!!...lmao!,on faceless forums, every male is an 'Alpha male' whom females are falling over themselves for
Tell me about it!
Hahaha. Funny babe. I'm not an Adonis. I am just your regular kind of guy and yes! Ladies appreciate it when I give them just 10 minutes of my time. Most chats usually end with..... So, when will I hear from you again? Hope you won't disappear again? Mr Busy busy etc. This has nothing to do with a faceless forum.
NkayStory: I am also speaking from my experiences and others..Many Nigerian males suck at SM chats..just lame and childish cliches which lack originality, next thing is to resort to insults when you dont get what you want.....reason why you are either ignored or given monosyllabic answers you deserve..duh!
We are not the ones whinning like babies about being ignored...wahwahwah!!,all the time, who send una?..mscheww!..
You guys should stick to yahoo ,chatting your fellow males or whatever else you do and leave on-line chats for civilised folks....99% of una yarns na pure lies sef,so ...
Well, I do not get ignored. In fact, the exact opposite happens and I'm usually the one to terminate convos based on my tight schedules. It all depends. Like I said, I mingle with sensible ladies who are successful, know their onions and are respectful and cautious.
NkayStory: Many of you actually wake up to start bugging females on SM for chats..Your problem is hypocrisy and an over-dose of entitlement mentality..
You talk about International politics, what does the average Nigerian male know about that?..apart from abusing Trump et al?..
You lots just see pix of random pix of a lady with big bum and boobs and you all coming running to DMs and chat-rooms,forgetting that 50% are actually MALES like you looking for whom to scam and all..
I have been chatted up by random males on SM and can tell you for free that many of you are childish and lack substance in your conversations
You are so smart yet Nigeria firmly in your grip is in a mess tevhnologically, economically, politically and so on.
The problem with many of you is that you over-estimate your importance and intelligence.
I'm speaking from a personal point of view and this is not a gender fight. Many women in Nigeria lack substance from my observation and I would rather be better off sleeping than trying to chat up an inconsequential fellow.
NL1960: The academic competition in India is tough. For you to get admission into competitive courses like Medicine, Electronics and Communications Engineering(ECE), Computer Science and Commerce in certain universities, you need to score 100% in their equivalent of our Jamb.
I am tellig you. Some who could not even gain admissions in India are on scolarships at Havard and the likes

I do not agree with this because the experience might have been gathered over a large span of time. It may even cut across years. So, I doubt if he wakes everyday to start bugging people with chats. He seems to be speaking from experience. The bitter truth is that, most females lack substance. You cannot do maths with them, no puzzle, international politics, local politics, sports etc. A bulk of them are shallow and that s why I barely have long convos with females. There are some few exceptions though but nowadays, it is easier for a needle to pass through the eye of a camel than to see a lady with substance or something substantial to offer. I would rather sleep than attempt to chat them up.
NL1960: You are very funny. You think i attended a local secondary school?. In my set of about 150 students, we currently have about 30 Medical Doctors of which about 5 of are Professors not only in Nigeria but abroad. This is not to mention the large number of Engineers and Computer scientists. In my days, we did Additional Mathematics that had the terrifying red textbook by Godman and Talbert and not Further Mathematics.
Just to give you a hint of the school for you to know if it was a local school and therefore if the person was a local champion, the immediate past governor of Lagos state was my senior in secondary school.
GoodMuyis: Is that not an attribute of Federal Character or inclusive competition ? At least it gives all the state a chance to participate. The worst-case is that the poor performing schools or wards won't make it to the finals.
I read the rules yesterday and stated that you don't have to hail from a state to represent a school from that state.
I believe education enlightenment is growing in the north gradually
The written exams already gave all states a chance to participate. Why should those who now failed from other states qualify ahead of other high scoring candidates from another state. Those children should not have written in Ogun, Rivers and Co. Had it been that their school had branches in other states, they should just have gone there to write. So sad to see someone scoring above 90% and no qualification.
GoodMuyis: All of you saying quota system this and that, failed to recognize or see that Northerner also filed the top list and among the 100s. But because of your biased mind decide to look into bottom of the list only, shame on your all.
A couple of Northern schools (very few) made a top 17 Nationwide. If you look at the names we'll, most of those candidates are not Northerners. Moreover, if a Northerner qualifies on merit, there is no problem with that now and no one will question that. Quota system is terrible. Let me give you a good example. There is this girl called Osasere from PH. She was at the finals of the Junior category 2 years ago. In this written examination, she scored 92%.Guess what? She won't be part of the quiz show despite her scores. Whereas, more than 10/15 people who scored less than her will make the show. Does that make sense?? Her 92 did not meet up with top 17 nationwide and she was not the state champion for her state as someone scored around 98% in same state. There is this other boy called Ezekiel Enoch who was also part of the finals 2 years ago. He scored 88% in the national exams this time around but because he wrote from Ogun state where the competition is stiff, he did not make it. More than 6 people scored better than him in the state. Students from Ota Total Academy, Ambassadors etc scored better than him and so, no game show. It is difficult to write the exam in Lagos, Rivers, Ogun, Osun, Abia, Abuja etc because you may score 94% and never make it to the game show. Is that not unfair? Why should someone who scored 44% make the game show and someone who scored 92% did not make the game show? The quota system is rubbish to be sincere. Do you have an idea of the kind of efforts that must have been put in to score 92%?
I thought I was a guru in current affairs but with the formula you have here, I weak. My strength was in geography, political science, nation's historical moments and the Nobel prize. It was fun there reading voraciously as I prepared. I started the Nobel prize research when a man was asked who won the first Nobel prize in physics (he later walked away with a million naira). Wahlai talai! Entertainment was my weakest link. Anytime a question from there comes up, I don't say a word. Regarding sports, I even became a fan of tennis so as to keep up with the program and memorised winners of different grand slams. For you to have sat near Aroma 9 years' ago, then truly, you've teyd in the game. I watched the game that night and was ecstatic for Aroma and his success. There was a recent one (when it was still aired) that the dude fell to 250K from 5M. Forgotten the question but he already had a patent for a product. Too intelligent to have lost.
Good to see a fellow aficionado of the program. I'll try to watch some episodes tonight sef.
I forgot.... I also memorized all past Nobel prize winners per category and so many other things. I had USA at my finger tips cos they too like USA. Lol. 9 years ago, Aroma's recording was the 4th. I had entered the studio for the 2nd recording but failed to win fastest finger for audience. So, I was asked to wait for the 4th show to try again. The 4th show started around 7pm. He was so nervous while he was waiting to be taken in for Fastest Finger to determine who gets to the hot seat. Whenever he gets nervous, he goes to puff. Aroma's winning question was a walk in the park for me. He was asked about Maathai Wangari. I think he was asked about the category she won and not even the year. He had to call his cousin. Wangari Maathai won it in 2004 and she won for PEACE. We have read so many things my bro. Will check out that link.. No knowledge is ever lost.
Fountainofyouth: Leave them nah, the stupid "diick size doesn't matter" phrase be giving dot diick size men hope, no one is saying you should have an extra large, extra fat diick that will damage everything down there but let it be sizeable and impressive in length and weight, simple.
So, how do they make this possible? I think you are a mumu. How do yo make it sizable if nature gave you a small one?? Why are there so many idiotas on Nairaland?
Biggty: I'm a naija guy and i have never and will never ask a girl that question, to me it so stupid. If she says no will you feed her from the phone or if she say yes then what? What did you eat?.
Some skills are learnt and not everyone will be a social expert or know how to strike a convo. The idea of the question is to show care and that's the angle it should be looked from. If you ask a lady if she is fine and how she is doing. If she is not doing fine, do you want to make her feel fine from the phone? :- By your argument, does that not sound stupid as well? Guys who do not know how to initiate good convo may be encouraged to learn the rudiments rather than being insulted.
Alanpoza007: I don't even remember where the guy that won came from but I was from Ojo LG but my school was a Private school with the headquarter in FESTAC and I had my exam at Mile 2, Amuwo Odofin Senior High school, I think. Can't remember too clearly again. People that know me can clearly demystify my moniker by now with this expose.
Ryan03: I think this attack is out of point, i didnt see anywhere she typed that she Dont have a successful career perhaps, i as a guy select those i chat with. I hate random chats especially when the person Looks completely out of my league. Why exactly are you chatting up random people? is your life that boring? Why not chat with guys since you think the girls are boring? All these complains and wailing are getting stale
Go and read what she has put down well. She need not state it before it is obvious. Read her last line carefully. It is a definition of "women will give a monkey attention so far it has money". That is why most of them keep on getting into the hands of beasts or those that treat them like animals. Low self esteem is written allover it. Ladies who are successful career-wise and financial wise do not utter such hogwash. I know this because they make up 50%+ of my circle.
Alanpoza007: Cowbell Mathematics competition, such fond memories. I remember my time when I went for the Senior Competition in SS2. Then it was just written Exams at each state level. I finished 3rd in Lagos State then, losing out to the 1st Prize by just 3 marks. I couldn't proceed to the National level cos they changed the rule that year, that only the winner at each State level will proceed to the National unlike before when it was 1st to 3rd. I cried my ass off but was compensated by 10k prize money, lots of branded Cowbell notebooks, pens and a long stack of powdered milk.
The guy that sat behind behind me started licking his sachet milk in the hall . "I cannot come and die things" Was it in your set that boy from a school in Agege won for Lagos? Was your centre at Government College?
At the International Mathematics Olympiad (one of the most difficult exams in the world), Nigeria managed to accumulate just 5 bronze medals despite having been participating since 2006. Guess what? 4 out of the 5 bronze belongs to Chiagozie alone. He is the most successful Mathematics competitor in Nigerian history.
TSRC: I know IIT. The US Even have a visa category called the Einstein visa. They use it to suck in the proven best minds all over the world by cutting out all the red tapes involved in immigration.
With an Einstein visa, immigration is very easy.
But to get it, you must be a proven absolute genius.
@ Einstein visa. Graduates of that school do not search for jobs though. Jobs search for them. The entrance exam sef na die and you have about 3 minutes per question.
Evangkatsoulis: Nice mnemonics. But why not use memory palace instead?
I use all manner of techniques but never really used memory palace. Sometimes, I form an imaginary story. I basically use Encoding,Memory Address method by attaching a tag to each info, Linking method and comedy to remember serious stuffs.
TSRC: Yeah. I have heard of the Raytheon competition, through I don't really follow it.
When it comes raw book, the Asians are in charge. Maybe Western Europe can compete with them, but definitely not America.
The irony though is that the best minds in Asia will move to America and the benefits goes to the US eventually. Though China is beginning to retain their own minds.
Yes, There is a serious brain drain in India as well. Ever heard of IIT, India? That is where all the geniuses in India go to. It will be easier for a needle to pass through the eye of a camel than to gain admission there. Now, when most people finish there, they get snapped up by American companies paricularly the IT Companies and the big players(Google, Microsoft etc). Those guys remain in American and barely contribute to India. America is an expert at taking talents
dalexy101037: Natural wave and nL 1960.. I appreciate you guys for explaining. O really thought those kids are performing magic every time. Now I understand is hard-work, dedication. Human brain can do anything in as much the owner of the brain is willing to embrace the process
You are welcome bro. These children master the basics though from primary school. Mathematics is an art. There are ways to solve basic operations of division, multiplication and the likes in less than 10 seconds and less than 5 seconds with constant practice. These children do not battle with those basics anymore. They are first of all, a walking calculator. So, if they are solving a question and they have to multiply something in the process, they just write the answer. They do not start doing normal multiplication or division like most people would do
TSRC: I just checked it. He must be an absolute genius.
It is a shame we have only managed to win bronzes, and most of them from a single individual, despite having nearly a hundred representatives. I didn't want to check for China so as not to ruin my mood.
I follow the IMO and it is tough bro. A bronze medal at the IMO is something that I cannot even quantify the significance. If you win a bronze medal, your IQ should be comparable to those of Pascal, Lagrange, Lebesque and other mathematical greats. There was a time CHINA won for years. When USA finally won some years back, the country celebrated as though they won the World cup. Guess what? Out of the American team of 4 students, 3 of them are Asians and even the last 1 looks like half Asian, half American . Online trolls mocked America and said America won it because their team was filled with Asians. Do you follow "Raytheon Mathscount" competition? That is another crazy one in America. That is their version of Cowbellpedia. You can follow the channel. See a clip attached below

Gerrard59: You're experienced in the game. Regarding my preparation, my only weak point was (and still is) the Oscars or anything relating to movies and general entertainment/arts related information. Other than that, I literally covered everything that ought to be covered.
Too bad no firm continued from where MTN stopped. One needs to be buoyant to sponsor similar programs for the upcoming generation.
I am not a Movie person too. I had to learn strategically. For example, the highest number of Oscar awards that has ever been won by any movie is 11 and only 3 movies won this. They are Ben Hur(1959), Titanic(1997), Lord of the Rings(2001). The formula therefore is BEN HUR'S TITANIC IS THE LORD OF THE RINGS . Only 1 movie won 10 awards and that is West Side Story which came out in 1961. 3 movies have won 9 awards and they are The English Patient, Gigi, The Last Emperor. Sentence formula is The English patient with the Gigi has gone to see The Last Emperor. The English Patient was sick so she could not watch Nigeria play at the 1996 Olympics - This means that the movie was released in 1996. A friend of mine named Dammy was born in 1987. I will just say.....Dammy is the Last Emperor- Means the movie came out in 1987 and so on . If we move to 8, about 7 Movies have won 8 Oscar awards. The sentence formula is My Fair Lady named Armadius Gandhi has Gone With The Winds. I learnt she has now become a SlumDog Millionnaire. Therefore, the Movies are 1. My Fair Lady 2. Armadius, 3. Gandhi, 4. Gone with the winds, 5. Slum dog millionnaire etc etc. I cannot remember my formulas again. Been a while.Knowing almost all of them will help you to eliminate options even if you do not know the particular question so well.It was such a pity I did not get to sit on the hot seat. I doubt if I would get less than a 5 million naira if I did. During recordings, I supply answers to the advanced questions before options.
See My formula for the history of the world cup and past winners. The world cup started in 1930
UI2 N2 Read as UI square N square.....Uruguay, Italy, Italy, No competition, No competition (1930- 1946)
UGB2E. Read as UGBE SQUARE.....Uruguay, Germany, Brazil, Brazil, England (1950-1966)
BGAIA.....Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy, Argentina (1970- 1986)
GBFBI........Germany, Brazil, France, Brazil, Italy (1990- 2006)
and so on.............I was a walking encyclopedia at that time. Wetin I no memorise. All countries and capitals, all past American Presidents, all presidents of each country, all currencies, all rivers in Europe, Africa etc. I just dey read like mad. So, when the show is on and I supply answers, people usually wonder why I am not on the hot seat since I do not even wait for options. lol. I did not have that element of luck. I was beside Aroma Ufodike before his recording started and I was just like who is this guy disturbing me(he was smoking)....not knowing he would win 10 million naira that day
fjjc: If this country want to attain her status in the committe of nations I say this is the way to go.
You know , our sports is dead too due to a lack of competition. There should be District, Local government, State and then National competition for sports at all levels . That way, we will get our best for the Nation. Usain Bolt was already a Champion at Junior school level before he advanced to the senior and we can all see the result. If you go to Jamaica and ask them who the best 100m, 200m, 400m runners in the country are in the secondary school level at both Junior and Senior category, they know! No magomago , nothing and you can see why they keep on doing well despite limited resources. Our performance at the International Mathematics Olympiad has not been impressive at all. We still have a lot to do as a nation.
