Nigerian Women hear the APC senatorsmoving a motion for polygamy. |
modath:"All die na die", maybe the cbn should just open the vaults and meet the demand once and for all, in the process dollars will be driven down to 199NGN. ![]() We yaff finish in this country |
Forex demand overshoots foreign reserveshttp://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/03/forex-demand-overshoots-foreign-reserves/ |
PassingShot:There are no fundamentals to back this rise in prices, so we should be expecting a fall soonest. There will be a rise in prices surely, but this is not it. The world is still producing between 1 and 2 million bbls of excess crude a day. The storage at Cushing is already over 90% capacity and combined with that in the east, a whopping 88% of capacity, plus production declining at a sub-anticipated rate. |
BABA PROMISE AND FAIL |
Buhari has been attributing every challenge to oil price. I hereby move a motion that he should step down and we "may" allow him come back when oil price gets to $140.00/bbl since without high oil prices he doesn't know what to do to move the country forward. "Baba promise and fail" |
No hiding place for the goldfish, your enemies thought with propaganda they could put you down and out but now they are facing the heat, granting senseless interviews, displaying confusion as both them and their "mouthpieces" give different accounts of contemporary issues. I forgot to mention those fuel queues that have become the norm or the power outages. Blames are flying up and down. Can you imagine they even blamed us "Nigerians" for power outages. Please enjoy your awards and the period of rest because if I have to tell you about all the comical happenings since you handed over to "those people" you will just go on dry fasting and prayers for this country. Sincere Regards, For: all people who understand the " my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian", and those who understand that, we need more than a NEPA bill holder at the helm of affairs. |

Buhari had already given us subtle clues from earlier but thing is the whosle nation was not paying attention. When Buhari took a stand on the Israeli-Palestine conflict by saying “I want to assure you that we will stand side by side with you, until our brothers and sisters in Palestine achieve their desired objectives". He cast aside any doubts that Nigeria is now an Islamic country, or mildly put, a member of the islamic coalition. This is the worrying bit everyone is supposed to be concerned about in that interview. The islamization agenda is already silently in motion. |
jamesibor:Please educate him on what is perceived to be number of ministries, there were 29, then 26 ministries during Jonathan's tenure, with a cabinet of 42 ministers, Buhari has only reduced that number to 24, I wonder if Buhari is being economical with the truth or truly thinks that Nigeri had 42 ministries under Jonathan. |
The same Islamic council he said we weren't a part of, only last week in saudi Arabia, is the same one he has declared Nigeria to be a part of. Fayose and FFK were not wrong Slowly but surely we will see through the veil. |
Firefire:The vandals in Bayelsa equally vandalized equipment in Lagos and Jebba. Joke of a government. |
So how much then is our reserves, $(27 + 20)billion or $(27-20)billion. These guys are confused. Where do the bank's save these forex deposits, if not with our federal reserve bank (cbn) or do they save them in the united states? What are they telling us, it implies that if private individuals already have these 20bln usd saved here in domicilliary accts in Nigeria, our true reserves should be about 7 billion dollars, not including investments of foreign investors. "Make these people tell us truth small now" |
adconline:Sorry I wasn't too conversant with the legalities involved. Anyways good he said next week, because we only have to count Friday, Saturday and Sunday Godwilling to be in next week. Let's see what the next week holds for us as pertains to NNPC. |
Good a thing he said next week and not one of those far-futuristic promises. An overhauling of the NNPC will go a long way to rebrand our oil and gas sector, which of recent has not been in the strategic plans of most of the IOCs. Mr Kachikwu, Please endeavour to do something about the JV cash call obligations and also do all within your power to make a push for the PIB and sensitive the citizens on what the country stands to gain from the PIB. These are some of the issues that has stalledthe growth of our oil and gas industry, leading to no new investments but rather divestment by the multinationals. Please we need them, their money and their technology and do not have to go the way of Iran before something is done. Nigeria has the potential to do a great many barrels say 3-4 million bopd as against the current 1.7 to 2 million bopd we have been dancing around. A word is enough for the wise plus a stitch in time saves nine. |
It's worth looking at the judicio-economic nexus from another perspective. |
Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser (NSA), says investors confidence in the country is shaken because of the federal government’s refusal to obey court orders. Dasuki, who was speaking through his counsel, Joseph Daodu (SAN), before Adeniyi Ademola, justice of the federal high court, Abuja, on Thursday, urged the court to halt his trial until the government complied with its order granting him bail. “How will the government look like at the end of the day? Will investors be confident in this country when court make orders, but they are not obeyed?” he said. In November, 2015, Justice Ademola had granted Dasuki bail, but he was rearrested immediately after his release from Kuje prison by the Department of State Services (DSS). On February 16, Dipo Okpeseyi (SAN), counsel to the DSS, had announced to the court that the prosecution was ready for trial to commence. But Daodu said that the defence counsel was not ready to proceed with the trial because the federal government was still keeping the accused person in detention despite an order of the court granting him bail. “We cannot be ready for trial until the defendant enjoys his constitutional rights,” he had said. “We apply that we should be given time to prepare the defence. The conduct of the prosecution has not enabled him to enjoy his constitutional rights. “The worst is that for about seven weeks we do not know where he is. “Any of us here who proceed to defend an accused person in this circumstance may lose his license of practice.” However, Okpeseyi argued that the prosecution was not stopping Dasuki from enjoying his freedom. He said that the accused person was not being allegedly held for the charges before the court. He therefore asked the court to reject the request for adjournment and to commence trial. On Thursday, both parties argued for and against Dasuki’s application for discharge with the prosecution restating its point that the accused person was being held for a different offence. The court, thereafter, fixed April 4, for ruling on the application. Dasuki is facing a four-count charge of money laundering and illegal possession of firearms brought against him by the DSS. He is also facing multiple counts of laundering money at the federal capital territory (FCT) high court, Abuja. When sabotage occursin the west-Lagos or North-Jebba,it is termed explosions, when it does occur in the south south they attribute it to militants- typical case of giving a dog a bad name so as to hang it. The same way revenue shortfalls in NNPC are now called losses, previously they were called stolen funds. Hypocrisy of the APC propaganda machinery. In other news It has unarguably been proved that in the hierarchy of sins: #INCOMPETENCE IS A GRAVER SIN THAN CORRUPTION# |
The minister explained that it takes between 34 days and seven years to convict a low profile criminal. However, when that criminal is high profile, it takes as long as 10 years to infinity to convict that person, he added.. Frank Edoho: How long will it take this administration to convict alleged yam-eaters? contestant: in the case of this government of "baba go slow" heavily under the anointing of the snail, infinity is the correct answer. Frank Edoho: Final answer ? Contestant: Yes that's my final answer. Okay jokes apart, "lie" Mohammed just said we will not see any convictions in the course of this administration, as the upper and lower bounds of their estimated conviction times clearly exceeds the length of their tenure. |
chigoizie7:But you read where they said the slaps made him see Deji in 30 places. ![]() |
HiddenShadow:help me ask them |
zigalo:I am not aware of any tariff being put on hold, at least PHED still sells with the new tariff if there is anyone still buying at the old tariff, they can kindly let the house know. |

Objective analysis OP. As I would say anytime, the costs of these needless foreign trips far outweighs the benefits so far. since the beginning of this administration the government has spent more on foreign trips, than the 13.6 billion naira for which Dasuki is standing trial. If they have not been able to retrieve any visible funds from abroad, nor attract any investors on ground (not on pages of newspapers), then what are they junketing around for? Mr president should understand that our problems are back home and not abroad, so he should sit down and start getting his hands dirty. As a final word, wastefulness and "corruption" have similar effects on the economy and as a consequence, yield similar results on the citizens. |
1stCitizen:See, when this inflationary budget is passed, then we shall see the real depreciation. |
omonnakoda:One moment lemme logon on a computer Okay here we go: I told you at the moment, (as a country) considering our position we can not wield the necessary instruments for this battle. 1) Talk about disposable income after taxes: You can agree with me that it will be politically suicidal at the moment for the government to tax Nigerians heavily, You talk about a quest for foreign goods, do you realize that with increased taxes relative to current figures, people will have less disposable income and a reduced quest for foreign goods, causing less pressure and reduced demand for the dollar, but then our Govt can not afford to go that path. 2) overall price change through government spending: what do you think will be the effect of an expansionary or contractionary budget. The expansionary budget our government is planning on, will definitely lead to increased demand, while we are still dreaming of a diversification, what do you think will be the overall effect of that? Increased demand for goods which will obviously be foreign and hence an increased pressure and quest for the greenback, which the cbn clearly doesn't have. Also with increased demand comes increased prices, and what do you think wiil result?, our export prices increase and it becomes relatively more attractive to import. 3) Interest Rates: Since it is the desire of the government to run an expansionary fiscal approach, it will turn to the markets to sell bonds (Through the DMO), which as a consequence raises interest rates for the bonds to be attractive to investors, in our own case, who will buy the bonds when our currency is still over-valued? Its a morning i didn't plan being close to a computer, but all the same I hope this brief explanation helps to clarify my earlier points that we at the moment are short of the FISCAL and MONETARY Instruments for this battle. Hope you have a good weekend. cheers Don't forget after this budget is passed them we shall see the true depreciation of the naira. |
omonnakoda:Interest rates Disposable income via taxes Overall price changes via government spending. Controlling the exchange rate is not the job of the chm alone, reason why there is a caveat "country", on my very first post you quoted. |
iykedare:I think he meant 299, which was gtb's online rate yesterday. |
omonnakoda:Managing the exchange rate requires a careful combination of fiscal and monetary tools, so In this case it will be either we lack them at this point or we are clueless on what to do. |
So EFCC decides to bring somebody's jotta to court as evidence, imagine the callousness plus insult to our judiciary."nothing person no go see for this country". Meaning the lawyers on their payroll are just earning free money for doing virtually nothing. |
These guys just want to increase the "panic factor", i am afraid as a country, we are short on fiscal and monetary instruments to fight this battle, so we resort to psychological instruments☺. |
